  • y doesn't the space bar light up

  • uhm.... spacebar?

  • I'd buy that if it weren't $100.

  • put an asian on that keyboard and you have yourself a light show!

  • If a professional Starcraft 2 player used this keyboard, it would be a strobe light.

  • why?

  • Alienware m14x

  • My boyfriend would orgasm over this.. xDD

  • it's a nice looking keyboard. I've had mine for a few months, and some of the keys started to light Yellow instead of white or blue...so that's a bit depressing for the amount of money it costs.

  • now do a nyan cat on it

  • 0:43 until the end: Hacking on Star Trek.

  • shut up and take my money!

  • I received this keyboard about 6 months ago. I would NOT recommend this keyboard if you are going to be gaming extensively, the keys have a VERY high tendency to get 'stuck'. It looks great, but go with something made for gaming if that's what you want to do.

  • @seborgarsen you can just get a little seperate equally cool numeric keypad

  • pretty impressive.

  • Where can I get one?

  • @seborgarsen think deeply, is there a time in your life where you needed a numpad...

  • @crackerstolemybike garry's mod C:

  • @trollmanification i was thinking about gmod today actually. ive already bought a keyboard w/o numpad :[

ill have to buy a plugin numpad thing

  • хочуууу)

  • The person who owns this is most likely a body builder or some shit apparently...

  • now thats awesome!

  • Made me laugh over how useless it is.

  • I have one of these (I have an older U4 or 5 or something), it kind of sucks. The keys are spongy, the LEDs under the Q don't work, and it's waaaaay past its expiration date (return policy) meaning I'm stuck with it.

Not happy, can't say I recommend it. I have a not-as-fancy-but-still-awesome Logitech Illuminated Keyboard, it's amazing.

  • that is cool.

  • WHY DOES NO ONE MASS SELL THIS?? I'D HAVE THIS IN MY HOUSE WITHIN 2 DAYS!

  • @fr0zenhound thinkgeek. com/clearance/on-sale/e609/

  • @Uraffyouruse problem?

  • @thinkgeek no problem at all, just stating a fact. enjoy it

  • @Uraffyouruse That's funny, you like ice skating, looks like you're the faggot. Fucking moron.

  • @oBLACKIECHANoo dumbASS i know the girl and you wished a fine, flexible and sexy girl like that gave you the time of day.

  • @Uraffyouruse You jelly, Bro?

  • @Uraffyouruse Just because you don't get enough in allowances to save up for this keyboard, doesn't mean you have to piss on everyone who gets it.

  • I want one

  • "now where r those WASD keys again..?.. AAH!! That aint the one.. AAAH!! ..Nope, wrong ones 'gain.. AAHAHA I'm Bliiind!!"

  • $130.00 of useless, and I love it!

  • What big hands you have...

  • @xpiledux The better to...nah, I wont finish it.

  • pimped up keyboard.... :)

  • It suxs because it wired

  • @sjsharksx408x It would suck even more if it was wireless. Can you imagine how much power it would draw on batteries and how often you would have to replace or recharge batteries if your using rechargeable ones?

  • The idea is good, but i would like to have the same kind of keyboard with more function! :^)

  • wtf that keyboard is just annoying lol

  • it seems like i would'nt need to get on the computer for entertainment. i could just watch the keyboard.

  • @seborgarsen LMAO!!!!

  • I could see where lighting up individual keys would be very useful. for example. learning to type or even better. learning hotkeys for mmo or rts games

  • can i get a better quality keyboard someplace rlse. Can it be programmed to have the lambda symbol in the middle?

  • Hah, I'm gonna make them all orange, so when I type with my blazing speed with the lights off at night, people will look in my window and say "GASP! Someone's getting shot with a machine gun! Joe, call the cops!"

  • but can you play minecraft on it?

  • yes cause I wanted a seizure while typing :P

  • what, no love for the space bar or the 'F' buttons row? still, looks cool.

  • can you play tetris on that? :o

  • lol its so gurly so many better ones out there for men

  • how much?? I WANT IT !

  • How did you do?

  • 0:07

  • Is there any way to program it? Because I would think it would be REALLY cool if you could make keys light up in a ripple pattern after you press a key.

  • @cementrio Yeah there is, but you have to be a good programmer and know about electronics, start with I2C on wikipedia

  • @h333333333h Awesome, thanks.

  • Now play tetris on your keyboard

  • what is the point, just take weed, same effect

  • But does it Blend? That is the question..... *blend blend blend blend blend* WOOOOOOH Japanese Smoke! Dont breathe this!

  • WERWREREWQTY awe r qwert werty wert ert

  • how much??

  • lol like all the science fiction movies the keys light up as you press them

    for example like wall-e

  • @taltigolt I know right, you'd think with so many movies with keyboards like this, more comapnies would be trying to create them. I'm hesitant on getting a Luxeed because I've heard the build quality is weak, they lack Scroll Lock, which I occasionally need, and the key spacing is laptop-esque it appears, and I have a hard time typing on laptop spaced keyboards.

  • URL is ded ;[

  • awesome!

  • A word of caution to anyone planning on buying one of these: They suck.

Can't press more than 2 or 3 keys at once, it will randomly activate the F1-F4 keys and other keys when you don't press them, the official site is in Korean and they have no support. Mine broke after a few months.

  • I. JUST. CAME.

  • This Keyboard is for hippies

  • is it sound sensitive?

  • keyboard rave

  • wher u get it and how much i love it.

  • omg i want that keyboard soooooooooooooooooo freakin bad

  • We need a freakin kitteh on that keyboard.

Seriously you cats owners, buy that keyboard and shoot your cat while its playing with it. xD

  • @seborgarsen its on a side pad u cant see it

  • @vipersrules

Nah, the Keypad isn't there. Although it can be purchased seperatley and is a beast for any computer even without the Keyboard.

  • @Bargadiel yeah i know its not there thats why i said u cant see it xD

  • In the website, it mentions anti-ghosting. How many keys can be pressed simultaneously and are recognised as valid keypresses?

  • people who use photoshop would love this for quick key command and on pro tools

  • Lo awesome i want one now

  • wow fantastic o.o i want this keybord

  • distracting much lmao thats still epic

  • needs a numpad but HOLY SHIT THAT COOL!

  • Very handy finding out passwords. Still it IS cool!

  • spacebar doesnt light up :(

  • seriously 150 bucks just cus it can light up and do tricks? ridiculous. I know ive spent well earned money for stupid things, but this one sure tops it. Im not saying I dont want one cus its pretty cool, but for 150? no thanks. I wouldnt feel comfortable typing on it, id treat it gentle like a baby. you cant physically enjoy it, only sit back and watch it as it performs its light up tricks.

  • keys that light up as you press them; that is awesome

  • its kinda gay = X

  • @seborgarsen yeah I was going to say the same thing. I would buy this in a heartbeat if it had a keypad. I assume they omitted due to cost. I mean the price tag of 150 is pushing it for a keyboard without a numeric pad. Still, I still might get it as one of those 'yeah, I know its flawed in a major way but I just have to have one' type purchases.

  • Comes seperately and I don't think it even lights up.

  • hehh i like g19 way better but i like how there light up more XD

  • this thing is actually legit

i made a video review of this and some other similar stuff so check it out if u want more info.

  • It isn't impossible, if you record the video in stop motion.

This keyboard is really cool and I like it lots. the spacebar is flimsy however and the software doesn't even work. (had to download it from the website) So the customizations like animation and setting the keys to any color in the spectrum doesn't really work, but other than that i love it.

I make custom gaming layouts with colors that make things easier to find important keys and I like that a lot.

  • I bought it at Thinkgeek and I think it's impossible to do the thing at 0:33.

  • I wish I could make my laptop keyboard do this!

  • WoW i want one

  • REPLY TO THIS COMMENT

Should I Get the black one or the white one?

  • @mariofreak444 Black, Obviously :).

    Have fun

  • but black only illuminates the letters :(

  • black

  • i think u can buy clear keys 4 the black one seperatly

  • Black

  • Back in stock at thinkgeek as of 12/18/09

  • why wont the space key lite up?

  • only while typing it is cool. too expensive.

  • So useless but so cool at the same time.

  • @WrathOfFlame It isn't useless, it helps in the dark, and maybe there are some applications/games that would like to use this!

  • @WrathOfFlame It'd be useful when it's dark.

  • @jamesthecat64 I have a Mac Pro which has lighted keys at night, so for me it's rendered useless.

  • @WrathOfFlame It's still an awesome keyboard.

  • does anyone know if you can just leave it on a simple glowing setting, instead of it fading the color wheel?

  • @syanarasucka yeah you can pretty much set it to whatever you like

  • @MegaShitler I would, and I am.

  • This Luxeed costs $150 while the Optimus Maximus Costs $1600. While the Luxeed is far less customizable, they would serve me about the same purpose. I'd just color code the keys according to their special function. The Luxeed makes the cost of the Optimus Maximus look all the more unreasonable and wasteful.

  • @TerraGamerX You DO know that the Optimus Maximus does more than the key-picture, right? It can show the Time, CPU usage, about every key (save for letters/numbers) can be hotkeyed. Think about it.

  • The Optimus Maximus key's are each OLED screens. OLED technology is new and pretty expensive. You and put what you want on each key. In a couple of years, this technology will be cheaper and soon we will all have OLED keyboards.

  • @calvin950 well its still over 1 grand so. Meh

and also i heard the response sucks cause of the way it was built. If they fix that it would be awesome otherwise it would just be a expensive gimmick like the 999 Swiss knife.

  • @2BSilveR

I just got one... for Christmas. I told the fam I will buy it myself if they don't get it for me lol.

Anywho, they fix0red the response problem. The U5 model responds to every key I hit, I can type at speeds over 120 WAM (I suspect sometimes over 150).

I am a fast typer, and a gamer. I absolutely LOVE this keyboard. Four presets. Got my games set up so a five year old could play, just use the colored keys.

All of my friends are jealous and amazed. :-D

  • U5? No the U5 is fine, we where talking about the Optimus Maximus keyboard. Calvin 950 said its better. (it is cause it has oled screens on each key) but that keyboard has a response problem.

The U5 should be awesome period. Where did you get yours? and how much was it ? Black or white?

  • It's so expensive.

If you want glow better buy glowing stickers.

    They're very cheap

  • is this Touch ??

  • this keyboards front grip came off in like 3 months, this keyboard is not scratch resistant if your wearing a watch.. for being a 150 not worth it... get a logitech slim or a full DECK

  • Comment removed

  • Out of stock! Damn!

  • :O omg!!!! i need it ;( :D:D:D

  • That is so f*cking kawaii!!!

  • Actually its one the best keyboards for me!!!!

  • yer, wat i might do is get a keyboard, replace all the keys with perspex or something and wire LEDS under all the keys lol

  • Optimus maximus has that.

  • It's a nice!

  • would it be possible to have the keyboard as a visual equalizer for music? that would look good.

  • Don't get this keyboard, it sucks. You won't be able to use most of the functions because the drivers were written for 95/98, so xp and vista can't understand the commands. I made the mistake of getting one.

  • I have an idea. Use Linux

    Apt-get install Linux

    rm /win

  • sick keyboard, theres a store here thats selling them for 25$ including the mouse

  • Your a tard

  • Idiot.

  • i heard you can buy a num. pad for it but that doesn't light up.

  • Nifty!

  • Nice!

  • Nice, but no numpad? Fail.

  • Nice!

But... can I play Tetris on it? ;-)

  • Exactly my thoughts! I want dynamic touch-tetris!

  • Its like a horrible knockoff of the Optimus Maximum

  • Considering they came out at about the same time and this is a completely different concept I don't really think so. The optimus maximus is even more useless than this and costs many, many times more.

  • At least the Optimus Maximus is cool. Plus their release time only makes this product more suspect. Its not like this thing takes too long in development, whereas the Optimus Maximus took forever. Prolly just crapped this thing out to get some sales on the Optimus' wave.

  • Possibly. I do think this is cool though for people that are into uselessly shiny things... The Optimus is much cooler though, but I could never spend that much money on something I would probably pour coffee on.

  • whats the name of the song??

  • whats the name of the song??

  • how much is it? i totaly want 2 get one just to say i have one

  • About $150 plus shipping. It's on the thinkgeek site. It shows the URL of the keyboard at the end of the video.

  • nice :)

  • I wonder if they ship to mexico or other countries :(

  • They do! I got stuff from them and I'm in Ireland.

  • Just get a model M. Still the one of the best keyboards ever made.

  • Thats called ultimate geek thing

  • If I was rich and i can throw around with my money i woulda buy it ..just for fun ^^

  • It may be a "waste" of money, but if your not buying it what does it matter if it is or isn't? A lot of things are a waste of money.. and people buy a lot of things just cause it's cute or cool. Duh.

Either way.. this is hella awesome! :]

  • WHO NEEDS SOMETHING LIKE THIS????

  • complete waste of money.

  • I think that I'll wait until they make a standard keyboard (with integral key pad that also lights up), and the price drops to $40 or $50 dollars.

  • It's very expensive! 199 us dollars!

  • Ridge Racer! Riiiiiidge Racer!

  • Who cares?

    This pwns the XPS 1730.

  • can u buy this in the uk??

  • yes

  • ebuyer

  • dot com

  • I think it's worldwide shipping...

  • IM getting one;)

  • Description says "every key", but I noticed the space bar doesn't change.

  • Heh doesnt run on osx or linux : /

  • I just received one of these recently. The lights are pretty nifty, but for the price, I'm disappointed. The program used to edit the colors is EXTREMELY buggy (also has crashed my computer multiple times), on rare occasions certain keys will be unresponsive (depending on how fast you type), the spacebar sticks, there is a pretty noticable delay between keysparks (again, only if you type fast). Also, having to pay 35$ extra for a number-pad that doesn't even light up is a huge punch in the face.

  • plz tell me how u do it... also what u mean by higlight(description)
