that lady reminds me of kiera knightly....is this for a reason? or just all white people look alike lls. (ignorance) lmaoo JOKE for u youtube fuckers who take life to seriously
This film was when I was first introduced to Strauss' Blue Danube Walz. I was around 5 or 6 years old. The scenery, the music, the scenes, BREATHTAKING FOR A CHILDHOOD FILM!
....This was my favorite movie as a child, but I'm not just realizing something.... Why is there some far eastern Asian (Korean, by the look of his last name) playing the role meant for an Indian?
@cozzy19911 in hollywood, actors can be anything. Nationality dont matter. This is not new to hollywood movies. A lot of chinese actors played japanese characters in movies. Amercan actors played English characters in movies. Mexican actors played native american indians in movies. The point is as long as these actors appeal to the character, nationality wont matter.
@3rDOZEN But a Chinese actor looks physically similar to a Japanese, along with an American may look like a british, and a few Mexicans are able to look like Native Americans. Of course nationality does not matter. I'm just saying that maybe it would make more sense to have either a Sri Lankan actor or a Malaysian actor instead of a Hawaiian actor that looks more Korean, Japanese, or Chinese... You know?
@cozzy19911 welol actually this actor could pass for burmese, because many eastern and northeastern indians do look mongolian or chinese with brown/dark skin. remember india is a country mixed up with so many different people!
@mukaikof That is a good point you have made there. Having lived in Asia for 6.5 years, I do remember the example of Malaysia who is made up of Chinese and Indian decent. However, if you look at his father in the movie (and himself too), they are what most people would imagine as the typical Indian guys, sort of.
@cozzy19911 yes thats true and besides Burma was apart of india during the british rule, yeah this is an awesome movie and it brings back many memories i remember i was a kid in elementary school back in 1994 when this first came out!
I haven't seen this for sale since it has been discontinued by Disney, but I did rent it recently from Amazon Video On Demand. It was worth $1.99 to see it once more...
I started writing a literary work known called Chronicles of Vikenti, which is about a boy and his young brother being taken in by a family of foxes in the forests near Verkhoyansk, Russia.
@RaiceGeriko Maybe I just want better movies in general, but those movies I mentioned seemed, like you said, had great directors and people really cared about what they were presenting to the world. I haven't seen the harry potter movies but ur prolly right. Those movies seem like art, instead of just whatever. Ur right i agree :)
I remember this movie scared the hell out of me when I was a kid even though I still loved it. I recently saw one of the particular scenes that scared me as a kid, when buldeo got buried alive, and it didn't scare me, it just disturbed me
@MrStrawhatlegend No, he's actually of Chinese and Native Hawaiian descent. If they made this version of Mowgli apart of the Naga Tribe, it would make sense that someone of East Asian descent played him. But they didn't, so it makes no sense.
One gets a very uncanny feeling watching trailers that you remember being advertized many years earlier as "coming attractions" that are now just artefacts. I remember the trailer vividly from 16 years ago and the wonderful experience of seeing the film in the theatre when I was just 5 years old.
I'm feeling all nostalgic now :/ I wish movies were made today for children where they are still bearable to watch for adults as well, like those ones lol.
@janelane64 Well its till bearable now for adults to watch, lol.
Its just that children are a little more targeted as the disney audience. Adults can still watch if they wish, they just dont have the right to complain if it doesnt suit their personal satisfaction. It would sound kinda stupid for an adult to whine about "Cars",lol
@janelane64 I totally understand about how children's movies should be made for adults to appreciate. But, there are still some like that today. The Harry Potter movies really aren't that bad -a couple of them were actually pretty good as stand alone movies. Pixar has made a couple that can bridge that gap well, like The Incredibles. What this era really needs is a fresh Richard Donnor or Robert Zemekis - directors who truly appreciate and know the value this type of film can command.
This movie is a classice hit, it was in my top 5 favorite movies when i was a kid. Does anyone know if there is a soundtrack anywhere for it, cause i would love to listen to the music again.
@pennyiscute84 See, I saw it the exact opposite: I remember seeing this trailer, and I wanted really badly to see this film...and was disappointed with the film once I did see it. Staring down a Tiger??? not on your life. LOL

think they released a DVD in '02-'03; bugs the hell out of me though, this is SUCH a great movie and yet (unlike nearly every other film out there) i can't find this one online anywhere - checked amazon for the DVD, must of been a short release or something because all "new" quality DVDs of it were up there for $70-$100 (bull-crap!). Can someone out there with the DVD (or good quality VHS) PLEASE rip it, cut it and post on here for us all to enjoy!
I've got the IBM game of this. I really need to see the actual movie.

Fuck man, just came across this film just now and remembered it from my childhood.
Probably the first film I saw where I was like, properly scared. That fucking snake fight underwater, freaked me out so much.
And the sand bit at the end.
Great film though, as far as I can remember xD
