  • kanye should have opened for them

  • you can tell this is real rap.. you know why? because he raps the whole thing on stage.. no back up vocals or bullshit fill-ins. Think about it

  • Blue scholars used to kill it. Lyrics like no other and sabzi ripping beats apart but now i am thouroughly dissapointed in the newer albums. One of the recent lyrics was. "i wanna go somewhere far, whrere no one knows who i are". Really? Geo used ti be the illest rapper out there but cant say the same anymore.

  • @gochargers2133 Are you sure it wasn't intentional? I am by no means condoning poor lyrics and lack of an effort, but it's not uncommon for certain forms of literature to intentionally break the rules of English to make an allusion to something or to emphasize a point of satire. This is common in poetry and considering that Geo views himself as a poet, I would not doubt this is what happened. If it was just a case of laziness and poor rhyming, it's tragic, but it may not be the case.

  • @gochargers2133 If you dont like their newer stuff that I dont really see how you can say you like the Scholars. Their is nothing wrong with their newer stuff, its just different. Also kinda weird you are rippin them as a whole, when only having one "bad line" as your reasoning.. Just saying man

  • @bharvey2010 I understand what you are saying. I really dislike a lot of their newer stuff, but don't get me wrong I am still listening to southside revival, sagaba, freewheelin and 50 thousand deep. Those were so good, i can't say i hate Blue Scholars because those songs left such an impression on me. I only use one bad line as an example but that was just an overview of what has come of their music. I feel like it has lost its meaning, but everyone is entitled to an opinion.

  • @gochargers2133 You are totally right that everyone gets their own opinion and I appreciate you taking the time to explain your reasoning instead of just flaming back. As long as you have an explanation, than you opinion is valid IMO, even if i dont agree with it.

  • I went to that show for Blue Scholars then I left!!!!!

    Queens, NY

  • i swear on my sons life, one day, that will be me at bumbershoot. mark my fucking words. ill be there

  • @TheIlldill If you flow like this, I swear I might jus be your biggest fan lol

  • Kanye AND Blue Scholars? This may have been the best show of all time.

  • what was the song at 1:53?? the beat was vry good n peacefull

  • @TheSumitbisht the sagaba remix

  • @TheSumitbisht Sagaba Remix...

  • Kanye must've been so unimpressive by comparison. I actually think Kanye's a good producer, but Sabzi just takes it to a whole new level.

  • @LaResistance That was only a concept album. We need a real album. WHen is Duckdown gonna let them release their first album? It's been 2 years!!!

  • blue scholars need to make new music.

  • Gotta love the Scholars, live sounds just like their recordings.

  • I love the blue scholars. Geo's lyrics and Sabzi's production alone make them one of the best duos out there, but the fact that they use their music for a positive purpose makes them the best. I actually just started rapping. Hopefully I can try and do the same. I'd love it if you guys took time to check out my page, and tell me what you think! thanks guys. Take care!

  • what song was the last beat from,i recognize it from somewhere, can anyone please help me?it would really help a lot thanks!

  • @420smugg Back Like that by Ghostface and Ne-Yo, Later remixed by Ghostface, Ne-Yo and Kanye.

  • This song conjures up memories like no other.

  • Kanye wishes he made Sabz beats.

  • im pretty sure why underground is so much better live is because they dont auto tune studio songs. :D

  • Fuck those 4 fuckers who like Lil Wayne's penis squishing around in their mouths.

  • @VishnuN100 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!!!!!

  • always underground.!

  • sabs beats just explain seattle haha

  • Instrumental at 3:09 is Ghostface Killah's "Back Like That." Thumbs up please for all to see!

  • How do you follow this performance with any kind of decent hangdown. Answer: "hey you guys remember that song you heard on the radio?"Answer is all half-assed: "um, yeah kanye is the...balls..." Nice job converting a troupe of new students Scholars.

  • How many lost their cellphone that night? - Damn, i've never seen a rap concert like this. Beautiful.

  • i was there awesome show

  • that was a great show I remember when kanye closed for blue scholars

  • sickest thing i have ever seen blue scholars are the best !!!!!!

  • bad move by kanye

  • i have those headphones, using them now

  • amen

  • Blue Scholars are way better than Kanye.

  • Scholars should be the main event. Kanye looked like shit after them.

  • man this concert looks like it was fantastic. i wish i was there..

  • The Blue Scholars are waaay better than Kanye.

  • this is NORTHWEST HIP HOP !

  • all those people went to see blue scholars

  • @thebigsouthsider Well they were at Bumbershoot , they didn't go to see the Blue Scholars specifically. Bumbershoot is one of the largest international music and arts festivals in the country.

  • Im sorry kanye im gonna let y'all finish, but Geo and Sabz got the best music of all time!!!

  • @brazilianP33 Ahahaha xD

  • @brazilianP33 HAHAHA omg i laughed so hard XD thats true though!! :P

  • Yeah, blue scholars opened for kanye, but it's all good because we know where the talent is, so show em appreciation for what they do and bump blue scholars!

  • Blue Scholars > Kanye. They rap about real life and not girls and stuff. Anyone who listens to the blue scholars will be able to tell you, especially me, that after blue scholars rap people are affected. Its amazing.

  • what beat starts at 3:09????? Sooo smooth.

  • @zarenj21 its the beat for the song "back like that" by ghostface killah feat. ne-yo

  • time will stand still, and whole worlds will collide

  • scholars and the knowmads hold it down fuck what the rest of the world say. 206 for life!

  • aww.. 4 ppl thought Drake was gonna open for Kanye =(

  • ilove this man!

  • ok why is it that guys like this who write real shit instead of just spiting isnt making it huge! this is rap ladys and gentelmen!

  • Best part us from 0:01 - 4:18

  • Man I love this song. I heard one of his new songs from his new album at

bit. ly/kanyewestleak fix the space... It's fucking awesome!

  • yeeeeeeeeepppp, this is what the 206 about, you guys can thank seattle for the blue scholars

  • suffering from an acute 2 oh sickness

  • dope!

  • whats the second song?

  • @leorugby10 just the sagaba remix...lol it's off the long march ep

  • Hell Yeah!

  • this was when kanye did rap not autotune. he had good opening acts

  • I remember this! It was sooo epic! I was more excited to see blue scholars preforming in front of such a large audience, opening for someone with so much fame, than to see Kanye preform. It made me so proud of my city, my people. We'd all been such fans of them for so long, supporting them so fully, it was so fulfilling to see them "making it". They're so genuinely dedicated to their music, they deserve fame.

  • Only Geo can get a crowd goin like that.

  • blue shcolars r so much better than kanye

  • 3 people like auto tune

  • Agreed with everyone who says Kanye should've opened for Blue Scholars. Best in the Northwest in my opinion.

  • im proud to be a PINOY.. keep it up Geo.. <3 you guys .. im into hiphop just because of Blue Scholars and Masta Plan..

  • I love blue scholars that why im watching this video but enough with the kanye hate if it wasn't for kanye letting the open then probably a bunch of kanye fans would have never heard of blue scholar. Beside kanye is actually a good rapper is you listen to his old shit it's just that in the industry ppl got to sell records and you can't sell records in today mainstream game with old kanye skills bcuz a bunch of dumb ass Mofos dont wanna hear real shit and more so the music quality will suffer.

  • @mtune01 word, his first studio album was good, then he got his first paycheck and that was a "do whatever the fuck you want, as long as you make $ your main priority."

  • @mtune01 agreed man. kanye used to be good. still wasn't better then scholars though. but even blue scholars new stuff is starting to sound like the mainstream music today. like oof.

  • kanye's probably gonna sample this song lol jk

  • good song

  • Blue Scholars is one of those rare gems in a sea of mediocrity. Thank you for making beautiful music.

  • ya kanye sucks live anyways and i just dont like his music ha but i would have killed to see the scholars do the northwest and the people proud

  • bet the crowd was so disapointed when kanye came on

  • I bet the audience was only there for Blue Scholars

  • 'SHE SAYS SAGABA"

  • dope, proud to have been there seeing real hip hop

  • seattle rep

  • blue scholars are probably the chillest, most emotional and easily one of the best to blow trees too. Kayne originally had some success as a producer at one point had acouple hot tracks back in the day ill give him that. but now hes just straight garbage.

  • thier flow is something ou can't find anymore...except in real HIP HOP!!!!

  • @camoscrubs88 wich is this and other nw hip hop

  • my used to be favorite rapper is kanye. mainstream favorite without a doubt is kanye west. he is to vicous!. my favorite underground: blue scholars, common movement, and cyne

  • Thats a F I L I P I N O wreckin' shit right there!! Mabuhay!!!!

  • kanye haters stand up. blue scholars killed him. fuck kanye he's too mainstream. keep it undergrounddd.

  • why so many kanye haters? gotta make everything so negative

  • Everyone hating on Kanye.. if he make Blue Scholars get a crowd this big then I respect it

  • Then kanye goes on stage and says Blue scholars..imma let you finish but beyonce is the best opener of all time.!!!!!!!

  • blue scholars is doooooope.

    ups to sabzi and geo

  • kanye should have opened up for the scholars, it's bumbershoot, the locals should get all the spotlight

  • Geo has some of the best Stage Presence out of all of the Modern performers now a days

  • kanye is a joke to these guys he don't even right his own songs.

  • He does write his own songs, and he's a amazing artist. When that's said then I'll claim myself Blue Scholars fan numero uno. They're the dopest, just don't underrate Kanye, the dude knows what he is doing (... except during mtv shows, but that's okay..)

  • I was there and they were the best part of the concert.

  • it would of been funny if after blue scholars performed the people left without even sticking around to hear kanye HAHA!

  • @FloSick808 i would

  • Kanye should have opened for the Blue Scholars!

  • @Roethlisberger88 would have just ruined it... lol

  • @Roethlisberger88

Heh, they should have been the only act!

  • @Roethlisberger88

No chance Kanye could have gotten the few thousands of people there to two step with him like the crowd was that night, wicked awesome show.

  • just saw Blue Scholars perform their first concet of tha new year, in Lincoln, NE.. FUCKING AMAZING!!

  • blue scholars are so hype live.. they were fuckin dope with hieroglyphics in london ON

  • geo's basically commanding the crowd

  • whats the last piece called...at 3:09 ???

  • It's not a Blue Scholars beat. It's "Back Like That", Ghostface feat. Ne-Yo... Pretty good indeed :D

  • Back like That by Ghostface Killah

  • Big Up Blue Scholars, Everytime!!!

  • Love the Scholars. And this was uploaded on my birthday. Cool stuff.

  • Wow, I would have showed up for the Blue Scholars and when Kanye came on I would have left

  • they performed bruise brothers too? thats cool.

  • yea kanye west shoulda opened up for blue scholars instead!!

  • Kanye shoulda opened up for Blue Scholars! ;x Geo got more lyrical skills and conciosness, and Sabzi's beats are more original and emotional... unlike Kanye

  • lol, real talk.

  • @LeOisAeRO i think every1 agrees

  • @LeOisAeRO True that bro. true that.

  • Agree!

  • @LeOisAeRO Nuff said, well said.

  • @LeOisAeRO WORD!

  • @LeOisAeRO they're uber dope and all but Sabzi samples hella shit

  • @LeOisAeRO I can't lie, at this point in time, Kanye was on top of his shit. This was right after Late Registration came out and Kanye was still talking about real shit. Plus Lupe came out and did Kick, Push during Kanye's performance

  • kanye should be the one opening up for them

  • yeah! haha

  • Scholars > Kanye

  • god i wish i was there....

  • anyone notice how around 3:20 sabzi switched into Ghostface Killah - Back Like Dat beat?

    shiiit, that was ill.

  • Finally a rapper with a good voice :) unlike lil wayne ;P

  • hahah i love geo's voice, dont you?

  • his voice is sick

  • @zakere1568 wayne is not a rapper..

  • the remix is fuckin sick

  • Agreed 100%, but I'm so torn. The original is so peaceful and it reminds me of when I would listen to it while living near the beach in Mexico.

  • blue scholars shouldnt stoop to kanyes level and perform with that dbag

  • this was bak when kanye was ite

  • hip hop at its prime.

  • Geologic (George Quibuyen, rapper from blue scholars) is the best wrapper and Sabzi makes some sick beats. These two are the best hip hop duo out there. He raps about real problems facing us, and doesn't rap about drama and shit. Yea, Blue scholars should be the first name in the biggest letters on every event they preform at. The first time i heard blue scholars i thought "screw mainstream", and ever since i payed attention to independent/underground rap, I've found a lot better music.

  • I totally agree, after a late night out about 2 months ago I started to search for new music to listen to, because I got sick of Lil Wayne (no offense to Weezy fans) but I found Charles Hamilton and soon begin to listen to De La Soul, The Cool Kids, Kid Cudi (other than Day N Nite his shit is sick), Drake, and most recently Blue Scholars, Skyzoo, Mos Def, Talib Kweli (although I listened to the MD and TK a ton before), and Dialated Peoples, I found out that these guys rap about real stuff, notBS

  • couldnt agree more, all those artist are sick, you like them you should check out atmosphere, brother ali, black star, common market, aesop rock, jurassic 5, people under the stairs and slick rick.

  • Just got common market uploaded and there fantastic, being from Montana all the rap comes from faraway but now Washington is producing some killer stuff, now I can get all my college football buddies to start listening to it cuz therefrom the 'Dub

  • also check out understatement, grynch, theory hazit, CYNE, nujabes and i could go on

  • @kalim93, maybe Dj Spooky, That Subliminal Kid too?

  • that's right!! once u've discovered what real hip hop is u cant got back to the weezy kind of stuff

  • We should all thank Lil Wayne.

Same with me. Lil Wayne was on every track the radio station played, it was annoying like the way he sounds. So I said to myself, "is this it? Is this even music anymore?" And BAM, I discovered all these great underground artists.

  • I think, that Wayne is music. But Wayne do dat only for money, Rappers like him are businessman more than musicians. Blue Scholars are art. For some people is businessman more than art.

For me is Wayne entertainment, Scholars are art.

  • Agreed. Many of them are businessmen, but that's the thing about it, its business. Many people who listen to Hip Hop think it's all about money and it takes away the passion of hip hop itself.

Even though I did listen to rap and hip pop, I never really understood hip hop until I started listening to underground stuff. I was more of a rock/alternative/techno person.

  • it should be kanye west opening for the blue scholars

  • lmao props to you

  • Couldn't have said it better myself.....I was at a Blue Scholars show in Colorado Springs....It sold out....They opened for Hieroglyphics......The place was empty by the time Hieroglyphics got on stage

  • blue scholars and hiero together? my two favorite groups!

  • Man, Blue Scholars is way above Kanye, for sure.

I don't really know what the world of music has turned into. The generically based music audience can never understand what true hip hop music is. After all, a lot of the mainstream hip hop is some trash that contains false messages and is just out there to bring in the money. There's no soul, passion, or greatness. Hip hop today has just reduced into a flaming heap of crap, and the kind thats buried underground is what we really should search for

  • Scholars killed it. then kanye ruined it

  • ?!?! kanye's set was dope.

blue scholars shoulda headlined, but kanye still had a good set

  • @evyllacrosse2008 fasho.

  • it be awesome if common market was there too

  • blue scholars and common market are a great mix, but, i may be mistaken, wasnt lupe fiasco there with kanye?

  • Dang! That was arsenal!

    Better than hollywooders!

  • thats whats up

  • man what was the beat for the first part of the remix?it was smooth!

love these guys.i bet all of the crowd was like "????who the... damn!!!!!..." hahas.yeah, it looks like kanye should have opened for blue scholars!hehe blue scholars keep it fresh.:D

  • i love the way they go into the back like that beat

geo makes ghostface n neyo look silly

  • geo sounds kinda nervus

  • I would be too if i was performing in front of 30,000 people.

  • well who wount lol

  • shii 27,000 people there?

    I would be too

  • Pinoy Pride

  • Thanks, apparently you do too! Always good to see another true hip hop head.

Ill be checking out your page to find some good music. I hope you do the same, and we both find some dope shit we haven't heard!

  • these guys are so damn good. i saw 'em live this last friday - it was a small venue but they rocked it - one of the best shows i've seen.

they're true hip-hop, none of that mainstream "bling rap" bullshit.

i think Kanye should be opening for Blue Scholars but i'm glad they're becoming more and more popular - they deserve it without a doubt.

  • "if you got no lighters, than push up yo' cell phones..."

lol.. i love the blue scholars, and i love this song, but that line just sounds funny no matter who says it.
