also, if you notice in the end, the casting director when he's talking about the model in the red top is like "she has beautiful skin of the girls of the south"..the south of brazil is a area of predominantly german and italian settlement so therefore again, the emphasis on "white/european beauty"..gisele is from the south of brazil as well..i don't have nothing against gisele.as a matter of fact, one of my fav models. but it's sad that indigenous, black, and mestixo models don't get much love.

they even had to put in place a quota for black models for sao paulo fashion week which has in the past been criticized for its bias towards white brazilian models. all the fashion adverts and campaigns in brazil feature white models as if brazil was a white country.LOL. sometimes, watching the adverts and the local magazine covers, you would think you were in an european country not brazil(which is a country of diverse people).

the girl @ the 6.00 mark who said that people like the differences and racial mixture of brazilian women..well..i guess she's referring to non-fashion people because all the top successful brazilian models are of european descent and aren't mixed(except for adriana lima). example, isabeli f, gisele, alessandra, ana beatriz, izabel goulart, caroline trentini and racquel zimmerman are of european descent. sure, there is emannuela de paula and gracie carvahlo but they aren't doing as well as them
