I'm a owner of a vette and the I don't know what people dislike about the interior, I love it I dumped the seats for recaro racing seats and I kill ferraris I love my vette!
The interior is not as bad as people think and I have sat in many. I'm a former Mercedes Benz tech so every interior is not going to be great IMO, but The performance and reliability is hard to beat. Look at Consumer reports on Corvette Owner Satisfaction and it has been number one for years by the owners surveyed. Get behind the wheel and you won't care about the interior when 120 mph shows up on the dash real quick. Go buy an M3 if you want a nicer interior with much less performance.

It's too bad Chevy thinks so little of it's buyers that is keeps making the Vette with such a low quality interior and materials. And the seats are a fucking joke..ask any car magazine..they've been begging chevy to put better seats in the vette for years. This is why these cars sit for so long in dealerships..people know they should be getting a better and more modern interior for all that cash. I'm not going to buy one until chevy does this, and that goes for many of my friends/family too.
I am a honda guy but my favorite is still a 07 Z06, because frankly it is the most affordable supercar on the market, most reliable, nearly the fastest, best sounding and looking etc, I hope to eventually get one in a couple years

I have to agree with it all. The interior does leave a lot to be desired BUT I didn't buy it for what's between the doors rather what's under the hood. Other than the GTR, not much can can touch it for the money. Mod it, hardly anything can touch regardless of the price

Nowadays, it is readily available to the masses for its base price of around 70K, depending on which part of the country you live in. The ZR1 is $100K+ all day long everywhere. I have a 370z and I like it but I have always wanted a Z06 since I first the saw the C5Z's. I havent driven a C6Z yet but the stupid ass salesman who took me for a spin in one turn the traction control off and nearly wrecked it on accident. He even asked me to drive it back since he was so shooken up. I didnt for liability reasons but regret not doing it now lol

Not trying to be offensive, to each his own. If I won the lottery, it would be a murcielago roadster (black with yellow interior and yellow/chrome lip 20" Asanti's.) If I had 100k a year job, a ZR1. But for me and most normal people, the Z06 or just a procharged base vette is the best choice and pound for pound best sports car.

You can get an '06 Z06 for about $42k. intake, headers, cam, tune for about $2,600. You now have less than $45k invested and have a 600hp, streetable, reliable, cheap maintenance, near 30mpg, beautiful, BAD ASS car. Your european and japanese crap can simply not compete with that I'm sorry.
Dude, you don't have to pay 3 grand for headers. LG motorsports Longtubes are under $1700. you can make a badass custom exhaust for well under a grand. and a diablosport predator will run you about $370 or you could get a 3-pull dyno tune for about $700 at any shop. there, ya happy?
Oh yeah and Lg motorsport says their headers are gauranteed more hp and tq than any other brand of header, so yeah man Ebay doesn't always have the best deals.

I'd be happy with just a base vette, they have more than enough power, but the Z06 would be nice, they say money doesnt bring happiness, but I'd probably be slightly up beat if i had the cash to go to the local chevy dealer and pick up one of these babies.

Veyron=totally different car for 1.6M, and a W-16 engine. For what it's worth other reviews, like Top Gear, have said its handling isn't all that good, just straight line fast. Anyway, the Gt-R is pretty incredible, but the ZO6 has better weight, better HP/TQ, more displacement. Basically, the 4 wheel drive and the trans help its 0-60 times, but even at that I'm suspicious that the company sent a "massaged" engine to the mags to review. Also, putting a 'charger on a zo6 is just that much better.
I seem to want to agree with you because due to the weight of the GTR at Approx: 3,800 pounds is ridiculous for it to be that fast with a much overrated 480HP/430TQ, dont get me wrong those numbers for an engine are awesome, but not that awesome to have such great 0-100 times, furthermore getting a 0-60 in the 3.3-3.5 range seems rediculous to me with a car that heavy, even with a top of the line launching computer controlled takeoff system.
The GT-R can't compare to the ZR-1 on any level, only complete idiots who lie to themeselves every minute of their lives can argue with themeselves. There is no replacement for displacement my friends, horsepower to weight ratio will only get you so far until the torque question comes into mind. Its all about torque to weight ratio.
if your going to buy a real car, like a corvette, you shouldn't give a shit about the efficiency. Corvettes are designed as a track car, thus eliminating the need for a very High MPG car.
But, corvettes already have crazy MPG.
Hell, corvettes are now cheeper than GTR's, so in fact, they are a better bang for your buck car. Go buy a 1997-2004, put in a stroker, and go kick the shit out of some GTRs.
Horsepower isn't everything. The GT-R is dollar for dollar and pound for pound a better car than the Z06. If you think putting a "stroker" is the way to go take a look at the Veyron which ran a SLOWER time on the Nurburgring than the GTR. And that thing is designed to handle and ground 1k HP, unlike a 2wd corvette.
Now I see that Corvette is the best car in the world. It doesn't have aerofoil or winglets in the rear and it still is more stable than any top Mercedes-Benz or Ferrari, and yet brings much more per each dollar invested than the expensive European rivals.
Also the Corvette seems to be even more comfortable.

I completely AGREE. The Corvette is an AMAZING machine. Dollar, performance, you name it; it's astonishing. (and it's only getting better; e.g. the up and coming ZR1!)
The GTR will probably be sold $15,000 + above MSRP... which means these two cars wont compete MSRP vs. MSRP. However, a Standard Corvette w/ the LS3 is the best value, $44,000 for 0-60 in 4.3 seconds with 18-27 mpg. Theres no doubt the GTR will smoke a lot of cars that are dramatically more expensive, but it has yet to be proven as reliable for daily use and competitive use as the C6 Corvette.

wow, someone obviously doesn't own a ferrari. The ferrari is a piece of shit, because it has a 2 year warranty, and oil changes cost 15k. They only last a few thousand miles until you need to replace the clutch, lights, or gauge cluster. GM probably spent 100 times as much money developing the vette than ferrari, the f430.
Ferrari costs more for a number of reasons, and additional comfort is not one of them. F430 is more comfy, but slower. There is always a compromise somewhere. But mainly, Ferrari is expensive because of two obvious factors: 1) The name and expectation 2) The fact that they are COMPLETELY hand built.
There you have it. It costs more to pay an individual builder rather than assembly line employees. GM just opted to hand build the motor, rather than the whole vehicle.

lol. my friend has a bmw m3 and her car is in the shop every other week due to electrical probs and my uncle has a 92 corvette zr1 with 230,000 miles on it and has no problems at all. he just has to go to the shop once in a while for regular maintenance.

Veyron=totally different car for 1.6M, and a W-16 engine. For what it's worth other reviews, like Top Gear, have said its handling isn't all that good, just straight line fast. Anyway, the Gt-R is pretty incredible, but the ZO6 has better weight, better HP/TQ, more displacement. Basically, the 4 wheel drive and the trans help its 0-60 times, but even at that I'm suspicious that the company sent a "massaged" engine to the mags to review. Also, putting a 'charger on a zo6 is just that much better.

I seem to want to agree with you because due to the weight of the GTR at Approx: 3,800 pounds is ridiculous for it to be that fast with a much overrated 480HP/430TQ, dont get me wrong those numbers for an engine are awesome, but not that awesome to have such great 0-100 times, furthermore getting a 0-60 in the 3.3-3.5 range seems rediculous to me with a car that heavy, even with a top of the line launching computer controlled takeoff system.

if your going to buy a real car, like a corvette, you shouldn't give a shit about the efficiency. Corvettes are designed as a track car, thus eliminating the need for a very High MPG car.
But, corvettes already have crazy MPG.
Hell, corvettes are now cheeper than GTR's, so in fact, they are a better bang for your buck car. Go buy a 1997-2004, put in a stroker, and go kick the shit out of some GTRs.

Horsepower isn't everything. The GT-R is dollar for dollar and pound for pound a better car than the Z06. If you think putting a "stroker" is the way to go take a look at the Veyron which ran a SLOWER time on the Nurburgring than the GTR. And that thing is designed to handle and ground 1k HP, unlike a 2wd corvette.

The GTR will probably be sold $15,000 + above MSRP... which means these two cars wont compete MSRP vs. MSRP. However, a Standard Corvette w/ the LS3 is the best value, $44,000 for 0-60 in 4.3 seconds with 18-27 mpg. Theres no doubt the GTR will smoke a lot of cars that are dramatically more expensive, but it has yet to be proven as reliable for daily use and competitive use as the C6 Corvette.

wow, someone obviously doesn't own a ferrari. The ferrari is a piece of shit, because it has a 2 year warranty, and oil changes cost 15k. They only last a few thousand miles until you need to replace the clutch, lights, or gauge cluster. GM probably spent 100 times as much money developing the vette than ferrari, the f430.

Ferrari costs more for a number of reasons, and additional comfort is not one of them. F430 is more comfy, but slower. There is always a compromise somewhere. But mainly, Ferrari is expensive because of two obvious factors: 1) The name and expectation 2) The fact that they are COMPLETELY hand built.
There you have it. It costs more to pay an individual builder rather than assembly line employees. GM just opted to hand build the motor, rather than the whole vehicle.
