How the javelin works is as far as the CLU (comand Launch unit) The battery life is 4 hours. The missile itself has a BCU (battery cooler unit) which will only last 4 minutes. Once the seeker mode is activated that time period starts. It will warn you when you only have 30 seconds left. After that the missile is done.
