It would have been so nice to be there! I missed the video due to time constraints, so I'll have to wait for the next time you have a conference...somewhere.

I only teach European style...not only is it faster....but it is MUCH SAFER FOR BEGINNERS...
they have less dropped stitches because their hands never leave the needles to pick up yarn for the next stitch. I'm flabbergasted that you've put English style up in the 'lights'.
I am very excited, knitting has gotten so popular! Will definitely stop next time in NYC. Question, though, why is the knitter wasting so much time throwing the yarn all the way over, when it is easier to pick it up on the left side, European style?
742: For an ad of this size throwing the yarn makes for better visibility. Also, many of the instructional CDs use the "American" or "English" throwing style. Yes, the continental style is faster and is usually learned after one masters the "throwing" method. This is an exciting time to be a fiber artist--so many beautiful yarns and free patterns available on the Web. Happy knitting! Sapodedo

English knitting can be faster -instead of pinching the yarn, just wrap it around the finger and flick the yarn over the right needle.
