Ya know, in a three minute video you have to leave out the 1:30 of sales information-to tell people how the Garmin 1000 works. You can not really do what you just did with a Garmin 1000. Not without doing lots of operations that would have taken more than the minute and a half you wasted talking about how great the Garmin is-to set up the approach and make the ILS work. This is not an instructional video on the Garmin 1000.
They both have autopilots. The old autopilot is the STEC, while the new autopilot is the GFC700 by Garmin and integrates more completely with the G1000 software.

doesn't the new g1000 c172 have an autopilot unlike the the 04 skyhawks

Our non integrated G1000s have the KAP140.

I wish i had a G1000 too :( it makes everything alot easier, but oh well it looks like i would have to stick with my old avionics for some time.
