I love this movie, and I love the soundtrack which I purchased a while back. DIsappointed however that one tune I was hoping was on there, wasn't! Can anyone help? It's the track being played when Karl meets his Pop (Robert Duval) who is sitting in the house, chattering away to himself. That piece of music is rather nice. I went home after a 10-6am overnight and put this movie on as a background noise to fall asleep to in, and ended up staying awake to finish it.

EVERYONE in this film gives 110%, they make their characters seem like they really are them. I felt slighted when they felt slighted, truly one of the greatest American films ever made!!

A great movie, and the music...fuckin pretty amazing! Anyway, i was wondering about the supposed mental impairment that Billy Bob had in this movie. Is the mental problem he has an actual possibility for some people, because i've known autistic and mentally challenged ppl growing up, just curious if the disability in this movie is something thats real or not.

Yes. He is mentally retarded, but even though he had a very poor environment as a child and his parents tried to corrupt him, he has a heart of gold and even though he killed again, he did it to save the boy and his family, which shows how big his heart is.

such a shame that they didnt include the tune when carl and frank are carrying the laundry and meet for the first time...as i think that is the best tune in the movie...along with this one...Secret Places and the song where he goes back to his fathers place and the chorus hymn is playing when he goes to the shed he used to live in as a child. if anyone has that song...please let me know...would be a gem to have.
