I have the latest version of Xcode, I can't find the Quarts file, in around 3:10 I only have InterfaceBuilderKit, SenTestingKit, and CPlussTest, Which one do I use?
i use xcode 3.0 only reason i updated to snow leopard and the shop would not give me the box they just updated my system and didnt put xcode on it, going back there next week to get it, Do you think thats the reason in my window in xcode unlike in quartz the mouse has no effect?
ive gone through your tutorial 2 times now, and i cant figure out this problem: whenever i go to run my "app" in the interface builder, all the stuff is there, but it doesnt move with the mouse, it just stays there in the middle... but it does work when im in quartz... thank you for the great tutorial and for any help with this question
mine works fine in quartz composer and follows the mouse but when i run it in xcode it displays the animation but it does not follow it. i added the framework also
@hobolikespie11 Did you make sure that you added the Quartz framework? It will not work on another computer without it. Also you may need to add other frameworks depending on the version of Mac OS X they are using. There may still be some difficulties when trying to run an app made on an earlier version of OS X on snow leopard as well. Hope this helps
@kylemunro had the same issue, to fix: you need to click "forward all events" ater loading the quartz composer view in interface builder in order for the mouse events to be picked up by the view.
You probably don't need it to run the app on your machine but you will need to include the framework in your app for it to run independently i.e. on other machines. I'm new to programming so it's just a guess. Maybe it's just for redundancy.
p.s. Thanks for these toots. They saved me a LOT of time.

This don't help cause I couldn't find part 1 where you load the Quartz interface in the .xib, in part 2.

Why must you add a quartz framework? It was working fine without it...
MGuniverse 2 years ago
Shisomiso is spot on, it will work fine on your system, but when you package it up and distribute it or something similar it wont work.
