Ok. I'm looking for music like this. I've tried looking up "easy listening", "smooth jazz", and "adult contemporary," but none of it is quite right. Chuck Mangione and Herb Alpert are close, but I'm looking for the real smooth stuff. Does anyone know any artists that put any of that classic 70s elevator music together....You'd be doing me a huge favor. Thanks.
@everdred236: How about George Benson? That's what the guitar style reminds me of here. As for the perception of 70s elevator music, how about exploring the Brazilian easy listening classics, like the songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim? Or maybe the sax covers of Kenny G, (which is a bit more 80s).
This was Side 1 of the original Arista soundtrack. They "discofied" the Herrmann cues in an attempt to sell the album. Side 2 is the original dark suspense cues and the original sax theme. The 1999 reissue on CD restores ALL of the dark film cues, and includes the discofied versions produced by Neely Plumb, which are very much of the 1976 sound.
lol This is the music for the ending where travis fucks betsy and iris, and while laying in bed with one of them on each side, he smiles at the camera with his sunglasses on.
Though up to today I'm not sure if Travis survived or if it was just a dream or whatever.
guess scorsese didn't want us to have a "one way conclusion". I think he survived though, only the "bell chime while looking at the mirror" thing puzzles me, but enchanters at the same time.
U don't hear that in the movie

@Aviva2121 Oh yeah, Jobim's great. He's definitely in the right vein. Much appreciated. If you know of any more that would be great
