  • As INSANE as this scene why cant I find the fight against the Guy with the whip at the start of the movie anywhere. That scene was crazy to.

  • 200: 1

hells yea! even trolls cant deny this was an awesome fight!

  • @KandiSOUL agreed dude that's why I watched and loved the movie

  • @ApeCape92 me too bro! an amazing movie it was! ... ha! just sounded like yoda! XD

  • I loved this movie..so much.

  • The fight scene wasn't ruined by constant shitty dialogue.

whoever made this happen. THANK YOU!

  • The intentional "shaky cam" effect was way overdone, IMO.

  • iamnuff1992, here are some Bleach fights that are off the chain.

    Ichigo vs Grimmjow (final battle)

    Hisagi vs Findo

    Byakuya vs Kouga

  • look at this, then look at bleach, then look at this, now back at bleach,

sadly bleach doesnt have fightscenes like this...

  • @iamnuff1992 Bleach has went to complete crap in the current manga =x

  • @YunoNumeroUno yeah, about 300 chapters ago.

  • the camera movement at 0:51 if brilliant

  • gotta love the soundtrack

  • who won!! damnit!!!

  • So.........Who won??

  • @CorinneWinnie black hair

  • such a wonderful movie..gr8 animation..far far better than all those 3d animated films....

  • Nanashi vs Kenshin Himura......who do you think would win!?!?!?!

PS: Lets say that both of them are bound by Nanashi's universe rules, so Kenshin cant teleport and ish. But Kenshin still has his strengths such as being uber quick and having fast reflexes, but these are dumbed down to realistic standards.

  • what an anime masterpiece, this film is wonderfully perfect!!!

  • First off, Disney does not equal Pixar, and comparing this amazing film to any amazing pixar film is like comparing a ADHD kid on caffeine pills to a puppy injected with liquid cute. While both are entertaining, they are completely different experiences

  • still loving this .O.

  • wtf who won >:[

  • @nightwing373 the guy with the black hair

  • This is without a doubt one of the greatest pieces of animation ever made..its absolutely riveting and beautifully choreographed.Pixar and Disney are incapable of creating such masterwork in the craft of animation..all hail Studio Bones.

  • @IAMTHEVASTUNIVERSE You know, while I like this movie plenty, it's pretty stupid to define a great work of animation solely by pretty fight scenes. The average Pixar movie has far more substance than Sword of the Stranger.

  • @BornIn1142 Who the hell asked you?I've seen every Pixar film to come out and I can honestly say no scene has captured me the way this scene always does in one of their films..its simply more then a pretty fight scene its a emotionally riveting moment..every second builds to a brilliant and beautiful ending that I've yet to see from Pixar or Disney..the best scene Disney ever animated was the opening for the Lion King.

  • @BornIn1142 i have to say that i agree that comparing this to pixar is completely inappropriate... while pixar may focus a tad more on verbal communication this movie uses the FIGHT SCENES to touch you. the music and the characters feelings WHILE fighting are what make this movie so beautiful. pixar is for children and thus uses a different technique to get it's point across...

  • I have yet to see an anime fight scene that comes close to what this scene does. I'm not taking about just the fight. I am talking about the music and the animation here in this fight. They draw that raw human emotion out. You can feel the passion and the struggle of the fight by the expressions of these two, but it is the music that flushes these emotions through your body, leaving you amazed.

  • @ultima209 i agree completely, one of them searches for a worthy opponent who came please him, and the other seeks redemption. its like they where fighting for the one thing they want most.

  • And actually...that was the second time he was cut. The first was when Nanashi scratched his cheek.

  • I can't stand fight scenes where the characters are flying around the whole time, blasting energy balls at each other and swinging their swords so fast you can't see the action. For all that they try to make an impact, it's the the scenes like this one that make an impression. These characters are more vulnerable, more human. In the end, that's what really makes us care.

  • anyone know any movies /serieslike thi s animated or not any samurai ninja movies or like anime series er something?

  • @lostwindreaper samurai champloo comes close. nothing else does

  • @Mr1das Actually, the Kenshin OVA series (Trust & Betrayal, called “Samurai X” in the USA) is even BETTER than this. Note I am *NOT* talking about the cartoony TV series, but the much darker, better animated, and generally brilliant 4-part OVA series.

  • @lostwindreaper hakuoki, reroni kenshin. samurai 7, samurai champloo, if u search for it u should find a bunch these are off the top of my head. hakuoki and sam champloo come closest to this style of fighting. sam 7 is really good worth checking out.

  • @infernoofflames

    ok thanks whole bunch

  • @lostwindreaper, Samurai X kinda comes close. It's a series.

  • @freeloaderforlife Sort of... there is a Rurouni Kenshin 4-part (~2 hours total) OVA that was also released as a continuous movie. This was named “Samurai X” (Trust & Betrayal) in the US. Not to be mistaken with Rurouni Kenshin the TV show, which was about 99 episodes. The show and the OVA series are *extremely* different in tone, animation, etc., with the OVA series being much darker, more realistic, and better animated. I agree that Sword of the Stranger bears a lot of similarity to Samurai X.

  • @gabedamien, cool, I'll have to check that out, Rurouni Kenshin 4-part OVA.

  • @lostwindreaper ninja scroll movie

  • @lostwindreaper Samurai Champloo and Sengoku Basara are two of my favourites.

  • @lostwindreaper

    Check Out Samurai Champloo

Hands down one of the best Samurai Anime series's out there

  • @lostwindreaper

You MUST check it out cause i took time(like 2 minutes) to write it !!!! :

Afro Samurai ( movie and 5 episodes) = Super good!

Samurai Champloo (serie +-26episodes) = Super good also!

Ninja Scroll (series + movie , i only watched the movie so i dont know the serie) = Good Good

Its all i can say now

  • @lostwindreaper Shigurui and Sengoku Basara or check here: en(dot)wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/Category:Chanbara_anime_and_manga

  • @lostwindreaper AFRO SAMURAI!

  • @lostwindreaper i have to say ninja scroll and Shuigui Blood frenzy are like this

  • A perfect example of how the right music can add so much to a scene. I will have to watch this very soon.

  • Nice quality, even if it not 720p. it looks crisp.

  • shit! i need to watch this NOW! :D

so freaking EPIC i love anime

  • Thank you for not ruining it with crappy music.

  • THE ANIMATION ART IS BETTER THAN EVERYTHING

  • i saw this anime in a AMV and i just had to watch the actual footage.

    Im glad i did!

  • lol funny how he lost because his sword was made in china

that fight scene was insane great movie

  • WOW

  • wow, that´s why i love animes - they´re so much better than western cartoons - this epicness, the music, everythings perfect..

  • is the best anime movie!!!!!!!!, and this fight is my favourite^^ 5/5

  • I can't believe how well done this is. I'm fucking speechless. Fuck. Gave me chills.

  • By far one of the best anime movies I have ever seen.

  • i just found a new anime to watch :D

  • i LOVE this movie, is there a series of this show, btw? or atleast a series like this?

  • @flintrocks

    YES Samurai champloo!!!!

Watch it its the BEST a whole serie!!!!!

    REALLY :)

  • this is more like it. Anime about superpowers and stuff like that are so cheesy and the animation is usually bad as well.

This is some of the best animation I've ever seen, really impressive swordfight that doesn't cut away from the action and the soundtrack is just EPIC

  • It is the best animation I have ever seen for a long time. Just amazing.

  • That Shit was off the chain.........and better than a real life sword fight in a movie

  • This movie was truly remarkable. Like, It takes alot out of a movie to impress me, but the action, characters and music, they all wrap around a beutiful written story about a hero. One of the best films in a long time and most definatly one of my favorites...

  • this movie was about as charming and touching as an excessively gory "adult" anime movie could possibly get

and yutaka nakamura is an awesome animator (gah, why do I remember these things?)

  • holy crap... that was magnificent! I could actually feel the flow of the sword in this!

  • its so epic that i think i cummed a few times

    AHhaHAHA

  • sooo oldskooool

    no gay superpowers or whatsoever

just poke the oppenent and twist the sword

    WAY OF DEY SAMARAAAI

  • Superpowers are about as old as it gets, please.

  • best anime fight ever mainly because its just a sword fight no stupid super moves ot talking

  • Yeah. No one's flying in outer space or shooting energy balls; it's MORE intense that way, if anything.

  • Comment removed

  • The music complements the fight so well

  • this scene make my mouth drop when i bought the movie

i played it over and over again

the awakening scene is just the greatest

possibly the best anime fight scene

  • This is why, in my opinion, Yutaka Nakamura > Norio Matsumoto.

  • Haha, I had to look them up, but when I did I realized that Yutaka Nakamura's done animation for much of the anime I consider to have superb action sequences. I'll have to agree with you here!

  • "raar i hate you"

"gwaar well i hate you too"

    "aaaa youtube"

  • i was speechless when i first saw this scene in the movie, just amazing

  • As I recall, the film win few awards for fighting scenes xP

  • For the future, I wouldn't go around telling people what they can and can not do.That's not right and it makes you look like a hater.

  • I hope my anime looks this good

  • Unless you're already a famous animator, I'm going to say it won't.

  • It's called being a Good and Experienced animator you idiot. Famous doesn't equal good. How do you know I don't have experience?Oh and for your information, when I said I want mines to look that good.I was talking about the fighting scenes. I'm Already working on mine, with a few other people and it looks fantastic.

  • Wow, sorry for not believing some random guy on youtube could possibly put out animation on par with one of the best Japanese animation studios. Also, what's the budget for your anime? How many staff are you employing? Who's doing in between animation? Key animation? Painting backdrops? Writing/storyboarding? Composing music? Also, where did you get the equipment to set up an animation studio? Oh, you don't have those things? Then it isn't going to look like Sword of the Stranger.

  • give him a break its not like he was saying the fight was shit

  • Truly the greatest animated fight scene ever

  • have u seen the final fight in the cowboy bebop movie?

  • Nanashi is the best character ever and this is the best movie ever.

  • Best Anime Movie Ever.

    Love The Fight Scene.

  • Sickest animation ever in a movie!

  • Best fight scene EVER!

  • Best movie EVER

  • I have watched this movie for what has to be more than twenty times, and I will NEVER tire of that final battle scene. This is what the word "epic" was made for.

  • this movie took all impression of lion king lol, best animated movie so far....

  • Awesome choreografie. And yes it would be awesome if bleach would have fight scenes like this but it will never happen since thats too expensive.

  • if fight scenes were treated like this rather than just a few punches and it being over like other films every fight scene in a film would be fantastic

  • bleacch should be animate like this will rocksssss

  • Best fight scene EVER!

    Chills my bones!

  • this fight is pure badassery. all hail nanashi's sword!!! the ending was sad though : (

  • also um...how long does it usualy take to upload ssomething on youtube

  • Depends a lot on the size of the vid and how fast your internet is. Example: a 60 meg file might take about 20 mins. But, after that, you have to wait for Youtube to convert the file, and, again depends on how big the file is.

  • anybody know where to buy the movie

  • Just Google it. I tried posting the link but idiot YouTube likes to remove posts with links on it.

The movie can be had for about $8.

  • i want to watch the movie so bad. omg the music really just gives u that feeling its fits perfect with the fight scene. amazing

    truley amazing

  • Sorry, if this is double post but something happened on my first post. Anyways, check out my Break account by going to my page. I'll be uploading the full movie there in a couple of days.

  • There already is the full movie on Youtube, altough in 12 parts and in horrible quality, of course.

If anyone really wants to see and enjoy this movie, I suggest buying / downloading in the Blu Ray DvD quality it's out on.

I did few days ago, and it's well worth it; This movie is amazing.

  • best fight scene ever !!

it give me the chills ... epic

  • this is such a superb samurai anime..........one of the best......its hard to believe that it was Masahiro Ando's 1st time directing anime.........looks like he has done it dozen of times before...........

  • The music makes it so amazing! The Animation is superb too of course. Such an amazing achievement!

  • that wasn't animation that was the art.

  • ok.

  • best animation at 0:19 - 0:21.

Anyway best fight scene in movie.

  • im only 12 i saw this. i went to tears thinking nanashi died in the end

  • epic

  • Great fight, although i found myself forwarding through it... So for me it's far from the greatest anime fight i've seen so far... Too little variation and it lacks something i can't put my finger on...

  • Probably the greatest fight scene in any anime ever. The whole time you're waiting for these two to cross blades, and right as they faced off I was thinking, "I really hope all the suspense up until this battle doesn't go to waste."

I was absolutely delighted to see that it didn't.

  • Such an incredible scene.

  • This is my all time favorite anime movie its so epic the fights are incredible the drawings are amazing and the story and plot just leaves me shocked its a very good movie i highly recommend it

  • I found the plot and characters to be rather shallow, but the fight scenes made up for all of the inconsistencies and pit-falls that popped up elsewhere. The animators and creators of the fight scenes seriously deserve awards.

  • i would have to agree lol they seriously need awards because those fight scenes are epic

  • For the life of me, I don't know why this doesn't automatically give you the option to watch in HQ. So, just add this at the end of the URL: &fmt=18
