  • Would anyone be able to post the original text, a translation, a transliteration, anything! Unfortunately for us who do not know Greek, it is incredibly difficult to find any more information about it than is already posted in the comments to this and a couple other videos. Thanks in advance!

  • Absolutely amazing!!. Anybody knows the lyrics of this salm?. Or where can I find them?. I only know "Hyperhagia Theotoke soson imas!"... but the rest of the song?. What's she praying?.

  • @theomagg What do you want to say to me? :-)

  • sorry I can' t post my answer

  • @theomagg the system doesn' t allow it

  • "Hyperhagia Theotoke soson imas'' is a phrase sung before a hymn dedicated to Holy Mary and means '' Most Holy Mother of God save us''. More specifically the hymn that follows is an abstract from the Benedictive Canon to Virgin Mary, and has many hymns, before them this phrase is sung. I think that if you type in Greek iperagia theotoke'' or ''παρακληση παναγιας'' you might find more hymns from the canon. Another hymn you might like is Agni Parthene (Pure VIrgin)

  • @theomagg Many many thanks for your explanation. You're so kind!!!.

  • @Bongogato if you want any other explication don't hesitate to ask (of course if know!!)

  • @theomagg Many many thanks for your explanation theomagg!!. You're so kind!!!

  • The best religious song i have heard. Iam greek from Spain and this song make me feel the mysticism and mysterious of the greek church. Thanks for the video! Zito i hellas!

  • Need to ad - being born Greek Orthodox and not being very religious. This song makes me want to learn more about the religion of my ancestor. Only if attending church would give you such an experience and feeling of connection to God as this chant/hymn. Thanks for posting it.

  • When I heard this in the movie it was so moving. Does anyone know of any other byzantine hymns available on cd? The female voice is so moving? Whose voice is it?
