Great Video, I completley agree Transformers 2 was an Awful Film, But I must say that I actually enjoyed the first film because at least there was a balance between the action and Dialogue, but Transformers 2 had no balance whatsoever, 95% of the film was just big explosions and when we got dialogue it was riddled with some of the worst toilet humor ever.
i admit i was NEVER a fan of transformers. but the main problem with the film is that it is full of unnecessary parts (fart jokes, sex jokes, drug jokes, ghetto stereotypes) and that's the stuff that's gives modern American teens a bad name.
i HAVEN'T seen the film, but why do you need those dumb jokes and constantly use them in an action film??
You're breaking it down on all the right levels, man. From genre, to the expectations of genre, and putting the love of films in context. 2001, Fight Club, Terminator 2, The Empire Strikes Back...that's right!
It's clearly not meant to be the next cinema great though. It's just meant to be a fun movie taking some elements from the franchise and adding alot of explosions.
I totally agree with you. All the bad stuff in the first Transformers was tolerable enough to still enjoy it and have a really good time with it. Actually I really liked it. I was the only one of my friends who was disappointing by TF2 and that surprised me. People don't respect the art of film and hollywood knows it. Therefore they make bad films knowing they can get away with it and fill their pockets. I want to post similar rants on youtube all the time but people are dumb and don't care.
I can totally see your point, and you are correct in what you're saying, but there is more than your points to consider. The money needs to be able to re-coop it's costs and make a profit, and the main way to do that these days is to extend your audience to all generations. Majority of movie goers are young, hence why Michael Bay focuses on action, explosions, special effects etc. I walk into these movies with that only expectation, and if the story is half good, well I'm not that let down.
well i thought the movie was a good summer popcorn movie...

It's funny how many of you are rating the video, yet haven't posted any responses because you've realized that the movies you like are trash.
