  • Try to use waterbased products (wipes etc) on anything that isn't clear coated ( Unless of course its a water based paint being used then steer clear of slovents!) or you'll get what he's talking about with the repair !

  • Oh my... I watched and followed your instructions from start to finish.

I have always wondered how to get that glass shine. Always thought just primer, paint and clear w/out fine sanding the clear.

I spray painted my MacBook out of boredom and it looks flawless and super shiny w/no orange peel.

People complaining about using a spray gun etc.... This tutorial is for people like me who do not wanna go out n spend for that equipment. Although it did take me 2 weeks to finish, the time was wort

  • @royer2323 You see how easy it is , if you just have someone to show you how? That is what all my videos are about. Showing others what I know and putting it on video. I am glad to have helped. It makes , making these videos all worth it. Thank You. Randy Hoffman, DSD

  • @royer2323 An honest question, not trying to be condescending or anything but if I actually get a spray gun, I can actually shave off 2 weeks of work?

Would I need to sand it if I get a spray gun?

  • how do i sand out a major clear run and then reaply the clear

  • ill never get this part of my life back........... how did you manage to make this many vids on one part? remember people, prep it right with real autobody products and paint. dont do what he did.........

  • @algray628 Good, then dont watch any more of my videos, son. I have 30 years experience and 10.5 million total views. Whats you GOTT??? Not Jack Squat.... You're Dismissed....

  • @algray628 Ok algrey after sanding how you remove the white surface?

  • @algray628 uhm... if you look at other vids that other people did, almost all of their finishes have slight orange peel and they don't bother to fix it or don't really explain every step. Even our brand new family car has slight orange peel! I watch this guy's final video before going back to watch the previous ones, it looks Space-age Smooth! It's almost as if it was transluscent colored chrome by the time he got finished with it!

  • great tutorial on orange peel removal it saved my ass thanks ive got that mirror finish along with a new confidence

  • @MrAdbl2 THATS great! Remember that practice makes perfect and will build your confidence. Keep painting and following my techniques and you will get better and better= and my teaching is FREE! RHDSD

  • Porra ,para de falar de Brasileras. Ve seu mismo cu, despois fala vc de su cu. Mulher Brasilera som moito bellas. I am working on a 86 Harley davidson , soon to be a bobber. Anyway, i am here learning tricks n techniques.

  • YOU SAND IT SMOOTH, and then polish it like glass, works every time, X. RHDSD

  • xD @17yearold ha

  • i finished clear coating and there are some runs from the last layer. can i take it out with 2000??

  • did you spray can the part you are sanding or spray gun ?

  • @Crx018 All of it is 5$ spray cans from a local hardware store, both color, primer, and final clear coat. RH DSD

  • when you have laqour going onto the paint work, do you sand the paint then laqour it and sand the clear coat aswell

or do you spray and laqour and just sand the clear coat

  • @trollope4lyf2k8 if your base coat has dust, bugs, hair and fuzz and shit like that in it then you sand it with 2k grit, it will make it nice and smooth and one color and doesnt fuck with the base coat. then clear over it several times. I'm doing my 66 stang right now, jus got to the color sanding part... DONT START WITH 2K GRIT!!! it wont take off the orange peel, you're jus wasting your time. i wasted 2 hours

  • Smooth as a 17 y.o what? LMAOOOOO

  • @donperry1 CHI-CHI. A buddy of mine in Ecuador said it meant the word, "Nun".

  • switch to polyester primer, it may help the shrinkage...

  • whats the song :)?

  • @X2N18 38 special, band. Little Sheba is the name of the song. Album came out in 1994 I believe???

  • nice write ups. gr8 comments lol

  • get it smooth as a 17 year old Brazilian what che che...LOL thanks 4 the info

  • 15 hundred sounds alot ,,but not for the skilled hand

  • i think its cause its only the first coat though? but he really shouldnt be using soap especially when it will eat through the clear i hope hes using a high build clear or he aint doing nothin but bad using soap!

  • actually orang peel can be caused bye a ton of things but this clear he put isnt very shiny it must be a very low grade clear or he proly got alot of overs spray making it very hazy...

  • @vashtriger123 That or he used flattener to go for a satin or semi-gloss finish

  • um im not a pro at painting but isnt orange peel created by to much paint, turn down the pressure or hold the gun farther away

  • @6rkidzx Not necessarily. It's primarily caused from an improperly prepared surface. For example, spraying paint onto a surface that hasn't been properly sanded or prepared. Temperature also has an effect that can cause orange peel.

  • okay, but am i also right about presure and distance ? or am i an idiot lol

  • @6rkidzx Yes you are correct, but walk outside and closely study any vehicle near you. They all have orange peel to one degree or another.

  • yeah i see what you mean, almost nothing is silky smooth lol thanks for the advice !!

  • are there earlier how to videos with reference to priming, repair, ect...

    Excellent video sir!!

  • try warming those spray cans in some hot water for 30 minutes and then shake them for another 5 minutes before spraying. the warmer paint should flow out better.

  • THAT IS AN EXCELLENT IDEA!! I have been painting thirty years but I never thought of that one. That makes perfect sense when you think about it. I learn something new every day. THANK YOU. Respect- RH DSD

  • if you are going to reclear it. I would have sanded with 600grit or 1000 grit I know some people would say that this is to coarse but that is bs I have always sanded with 600 or 1000 then recleared and it came out fine even John Kosmoski the Originator of House of Kolor has videos of him sanding with 600 before a reclear to make the clear like glass

  • Yes you can use those grits if you know what your are doing and dont burn through. I show people the slow way so they dont screw up on the first blush and give up. Good advice though. RH DSD

  • wtf i cant manage to get the orange peel off a test area on my car. someone help? i watched this video so many times understand evrything but its not working.

  • how bad is the orange peel and what grit sand paper are u using

  • 1500

  • im trying this out on my gas tank door of my black bmw. the thing is, ive realized the ENTIRE CAR has orange peel. but i was using 1500 wet and also 2000 wet w soap n warm water like he said in the video. but after i take all the clear off and let dry and hit it with a coat of clear its looking nice, but the orange peel is highly evident :( maybe i should try a lower grit?? maybe to sand into the actual black paint??

  • hahaha took a real orange to show the orange peel. loved that! good job!

  • You should soak that sand paper in water for about 15 minutes before sanding.

    Just to help you.

  • wow
