An other way is to replace sproket for a new model one and electric weld spot it just to get it fuck...g stay there ! it's cheap and it does the job for an other 300,ooo km !
This one comes from an old Vw mechanic man ! It works with mine since 3 years without trouble ,no vibration at all... just grind the welding spot and replace if needed !
VERY common problem with these motors. Pull the motor, get a TDI pully, and have your crankshaft machined to fit it. Really the only fix. This is the only real fatal flaw in the 1.9
