I won't sell or throw this album! Always lidtening to it , have i t f or more than 10 years.Crying or howling blues , always playing this song when I can (guitar).Always waiting for the second album.
what an enthralling great rock n roll,i wonder how they are known only in the USA...at least in Europe almost none know these too underrated female group that's great !!
I heard this group in 93-94, in a record shop in oslo (Norway), and just istintly knew it was someting I liked. It is so great to hear it on youtube, would like more songs out on youtube of this group. Love Sofie:)
This is one of the BEST cd's and bands out there. When I put this in with th rest of my collection they all ran in shame. THIS BAND ROCKS and there isn't a bad track on the album. I'd love to have more.
If anyone of you want a classic rock/Blues sound...with a singer who has as powerful voice as Janis but smooter and more feminine...a guitar player who can absolutely burn her Les Paul up....and not one bad song on the album I suggest you get this one...I always bring this one back out and it puts a smile on my face everytime...this is a prime example of a group that should have been given their due but the powers to be..the radio stations..and MTV let us down...get this album if you can...
I saw Motherstation...in the early 90's...right after this single was hitting the radio waves....It was in Louisville with Collective Soul when they first come out and had their first hit "Shine"....Motherstation rocks...the singer and guitar player and their first album were shamefully overlooked and under estimated...
Saw them play in Riverfront Park in Nashville on July 30, 1994. It was Gibson Guitar 100th Anniversary Show. The show included Kiss, Fleetwood Mac, Pat Travers and another band or two I can't remember. The Mother Station blew me away that night.
I saw them up in CT open for .38 special as well. They were fantastic. This video does not do Gwin any justice on how amazing a guitar player she is. My buddy and I stood front row in front of her the whole show and she was unbelievable. Both her and Susan have done some solo work that has been great too in my opinion but boy I wish they would reform this group. I still listen to Brand New Bag all the time.
I used to DJ and I used to promote this album alot. The album "Brand new Bag" (on East west records cat no 7567-92366-2) had a retro cover so it got missed by most people. It has one of my all time favourite ballads on "stranger to my soul" absoluteley awesome.
I think that album came out in 94'.After seeing them on stage I was totaly stund buy Sue's performance It was incredable. What ever happened to Sue Marshall????
Sweet! Thanks for posting this Paul, I didn't ever realize that there was a vid for it. Great Tune!
COMPLETE RESPECT for Memphis shown in the vid as well. The Pop Tunes Roof top shot is Classic! Gwin and Paul I hope you are doing well...Not being rude to the rest of the band...just didnt meet them. Damn shame that this band isnt together now, but Gwin I love the solo stuff. Michael
