  • She is so sweet, and her voice is always filled with so much emotion. She is a singer; all these manufactured pop artists nowadays - they're not singers.

  • I have goosebumps she sings soo well.

  • did you glitch this yerself?

  • whats not to like?

  • She has such talent and a huge voice. Love her.

  • not criticising her voice cause it sounds really good but why does she sing like that

  • @MrFunnylicious Ellen Greene, is an actress. She made her character and found a way to sing the role in a healthy way and keep character. Its fantastic, once you see other actresses try and do Audrey. Its not the same.

  • @MrFunnylicious Because as you said yourself ' it sounds really good ' lol.

  • @MrFunnylicious Because that's what the character is like in the musical

  • Am I the only one that had demons appear between 2:00 and 2:30?

  • Sing that song girl!

  • This is one of the strangest interviews I have ever seen, they picked the right Audrey.

  • You pple are so racist..

  • ok the dude needs to go and i can take his place

  • i love this interview so much

  • seriously dont know why carson was so adored he seems like such a tool.

  • Will everybody stop acting so surprised that the guy singing with her isn't white. She already said that Rick wasn't available so she's singing with Micheal, the same guy that voiced the plant on Broadway.

  • i love her in LEON PROFESSIONHAL

  • He handed her the kleenex to early.

  • I fucking love Elllen Greene

  • Seymour looks a little different from the movie.

  • maybe the most soulful woman i've ever hurd

  • wow!! luv her makes me cry everytime!!:(

  • Seymour got some color.

  • Great voice,... too bad she passed on to quickly....at least we have this movie

  • @2curious2us Ellen is still very much alive. She just recently finished doing a show in London. From 2007-2009 she was on the television show PUSHING DAISIES. During those years she also appeared a couple times on HEROES (I believe she played Sylar's Mother).

  • @dkrefrain she is still alive

  • @2curious2us Passed on? She's not dead.

  • Just adore her so

  • she has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard!

  • Wow.... The girl. Wow. I mean and she. Wow. I can't und.... Whoaaaa.... I have a whole new respect for... Wow.

  • She is so adorable :)

  • whos the man singing with her? he is really good!... and it is pretty funny how he leans back halfway during the song and looks at her like "damn white women are crazy" lol.

  • @rabidvoodoocat HAHAHAAHA, your comment really cracked me up.

  • One hell of a lady!

    One hell of a voice.

  • 8:04 The black is like "WTF" LOL

  • I like it when Rick Moranis sing this song with Ellen Greene

  • she needs to be blonde again.

  • holy geebus!!! thats just frikkin awesome

  • wasn't she in the original broadway show too?i have the original recording and it sounds JUST LIKE HER

  • @mumupy

They wrote the part for her. She created this little voice for the character before production. She did the movie and was really the only real "Audrey" on stage. If Ellen didn't play Audrey it didn't seem like the same play.

  • Damn she can sing man

  • It must have been weird for her not snogging someone after this song.

  • damn! that was amazing, she is such a powerful singer this song is quite moving. I felt a tear swelling but I didn't drop one i swear!

  • An incredly talented and mesmerizing performer. Love this clip. Her singing partner is fine, too.

  • So very beautiful and powerful song... a masterpiece!

  • ok now she looks like shes drunk while shes holding on to the guy

  • wow her performance was idk she opens her mouth weridly ok shes over exadurating

  • her performance in this video is simply stunning. STUNNING.

  • Ellen Greene is my all time favorite singer. she was, is, and always will be Audrey. no one sings that role like she does, and cant even come near it either

  • It's amazing that for a song near 25 years old...it brings back memories of seing the movie for the first time. Such a powerful voice from such a petite body...goes to show that even the frailest looking of anyone can deliver such a grand performance.

  • I miss "Pushing Daisies"

  • Passion Passion Passion Passion Passion Passion. Thy name is Ellen :-)

  • "I'm Growing An Audrey II"

    Lol, What A Great Voice

  • The emotion she poured into this performance is breathtaking. Goosebumps! :)

  • Fjw1966 , so true, I just listened to a few other versions I downloaded on iTunes just to see if anyone comes close, they were all damn good singers but did not do the song any justice, Ellen Greene by far set the standard!

  • Man, she just goes out balls to the wall and you can see her partner ramping up to meet her intensity.

  • Little Shop is one of the greatest love stories, and this is one of the greatest love songs. Ever.

  • every time she hits those high notes my chest hait stands up and my nipples get hard! lol!

  • I think I'm a mostly normal guy but sometimes when I see a really great talent giving it his/her all in a performance, I find it very moving. This woman's performance in Little Shop of Horrors moved me. She is so talented and, just as important, so courageous to put so much into her singing.

  • well, i guess that IS her real voice

  • I like plants....:)

  • she's adorable

  • She has got one hell of a voice.

  • so intense =)

  • THIS IS THE ONLY SINGER THAT CAN SING THIS SONG, HER VOICE IS AMAZING... SHE IS FANTASTIC, BELIEVE IT OR NOT SEEN THE SHOW IN EDINBURGH ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO.. WITH SU POLLARD WHO COMES A VERY CLOSE SECOND ELLEN GREENE HAS A SUPERB VOICE. DONT CARE WHAT ANYBODY THINKS, SHE IS BRILLIANT.

  • @fjw1966

    Amen, my friend. ^-^

  • HA! funny dress.

  • No Offense...She a Lil Slow !

  • Damn. She's just belting out. I love it!

  • so excited the ellen is to star in my friends musical in london

  • Holy crap she has a set of lungs on her!

  • Too bad Rick Moranis wasn't there. Love them singing together. Yes, she Isn't the best singer but no one sang this song better.

  • @excaliburtation 9:00. That is all.

  • excal or whatever ur name is If u think she sucks asshole dont listen douche bag piece of shit ...do everyone a favor and blow ur brains out the world could do allot better without dip shits like u.

  • Oh my gosh, Ellen, I. LOVE. YOUR. DRESS.

And I just adore you!! =D

  • Gosh. That women is good!!

  • my god this woman is just incredable! what a wonderful voice!!!

  • Her voice is incredible!

  • She is SO SO deep into this song, it completely blows the guy she is singing with away and makes him look like a chump. To bad he could not perform on her level. She's amazing!

  • @excaliburtation i doubt u can even sing...

  • @Qoo1997 what difference does it make if I can or not? The fact still stands that she sounds like a dying animal.

  • Can't believe that the producers of the movie wanted to cast Barbra Streisand or Cyndi Lauper as Audrey.

  • i love how her voice completely changes when she sings

  • Anyone recognize her as Syler's mother on HEREOS

  • 7:40 Chills!!!

  • Anything less than Ellen Greene in this role -- has never quite been as satisfying and there have been some pretty terrific and talented ladies on this role... but talk about putting a stamp on a role! The only other example I can think of is how no one ever cast an "Eva" in Evita again -- Everyone looked for "LuPone" after the original cast, and rightly so with this role! I'm guilty of wanting to always see Greene in Little Shop. She was pulled too far back in the film!

  • Ellen Greene is spectacular in this role!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The magic of the Audrey character is that transformation - that secret fire and passion that she keeps hidden from the audience until this HUGE moment in the second act. Extremely satisfying when done well; unbelievably flattening when not done.

Ellen Greene is, to this day, the best Audrey that there has ever been. The passion in her voice, the belt, the vocal breaks - they're reminiscent of Jennifer Holiday in the original Dreamgirls.

  • I <3 Ellen

  • Some people love certain celebrities, fashions, music, and art forms; other people go after different types of celebrities, fashions, music and art forms.

We all have different tastes. Either you love something or you hate it. Your opinion doesn't make you a lesser person than the one who thinks differently.

That being said, I love Ellen. I don't give a damn what anybody else says.

  • shes amazing!!

  • You have a greenhouse? why?

    I like plants.

    haha (:

  • 8:07

    Oh gawd!

  • She is fantastic. In every way

  • her diction sucks

  • @excaliburtation She's singing in charachter.

  • Ellen Greene's voice is phenomenal...(sigh,gasp.) My God......What a TRUE talent.

  • Wow.....she totally overpowered him. It was not even a contest....

  • skip to 5:50 for the song

  • ellen greene's voice is just amazing! thanks soso much for posting this!!!

  • Outstanding woman, never holds back, yet her feet stay planted on the earth, she is totally awesome.

  • i can respect anyone willing to be themselfs I love this performance.

  • 'No, i don't think my mom would like that' haha! Blimey, her Audrey voice isn't such an exaggeration of her real voice :D such a huge voice out of such a tiny thing :P

  • 'No, i don't think my mom would like that' haha! Blimey, her Audrey voice isn't such an exaggeration of her real voice :D

  • I definitly wouldn't disagree that she's really good but she's WAAAAY too over the top in this performance.

  • I was obsessed with Little Shop as a kid. As an adult I fell in love with Wonderfalls and then, of course, Pushing Daisies. Ellen doesn't pop up in many films or shows, but when she does, she picks the coolest most odd and creative ones. Such a cool and unique lady! So happy someone uploaded this footage :)

  • she is real ditzy

  • he handed her the hankey too soon :P

  • Can I just be her for one day?

    She's amazingly awesome.

  • could I get just a bit more ham on this sandwitch

  • She is so adorable. :3 :3 :3

  • guy totally ruined the song.

  • 11 people are man-eating plants.

  • Ellen Greene is literally one of my all-time idols. She's incredible and truly talented. There is no other Ellen Greene in the world. No other person could ever replace her performance for me... from Little Shop of Horrors to Heroes, to Pushing Dasies

  • Omg, it would have been better if there was a tape of Rick Morranis. Not that black guy (Not a racist joke)

  • Would have loved if Rick had done it with her

  • @Fubs Man I woulda paid to have seen that porno!

  • I love her. She's adorable in the interview and her singing voice is amazing.

  • Wow her singing voice came out of no where! awesome!!

  • its amazing that she has such a quiet voice when she speaks...but when she sings its a powerful voice..absolutely fantastic

  • Fantastic voice! And so cute :)

  • i love her.

  • the dude ruins the song haha

  • does she have a lisp or somthing???

  • Whether you're a fan of her voice or not, you gotta admit that she bring something AWESOME to the song

  • @livvybee313

I quite like her voice, but I've got to figure that if you didn't, you'd hate what she brought to the song and wish someone else had brought something to the song.

  • @Sharpevil Yeah, but if you see other versions, they just can't compare, acting and energy-wise. No matter how you feel about her voice, she WAS Audrey.

  • I just found this video and I love Ellen Greene and love the version of this song. It's so great how her character in the movie would go from this whispery, submissive speaking voice to this huge, powerful singing voice. She's an incredible talent.

  • @whiskey222 I completely agree!!

  • Comment removed

  • LOL she's so cute!!! :P

  • if you ask me...unbiased here...she's a bit odd, but MAN does she get into character when she sings. i really believed her. awesome!

  • She steps right into character! Brilliant! She's currently playing a small part on The Young and the Restless. Strange, I was watching the show and thought.. this woman looks familiar and googled her name and low and behold it's her. Random! As a side note.. I miss Johnny!

  • is she crying during the song?

  • people with amazing talent tend to be very strange. i love her though

  • Who didn't fall in love with Ellen Greene when she sang "Suddenly Seymor"? I'm guilty, I'm guilty as charged!

  • I love how she has this small sweet voice when she is talking, and then she sings and she has this amazing belting voice with such emotion. She's great.

  • I can't believe people actually like this chick!! She's terrible!!! yeah, she can belt out some big notes, but she sounds absolutly ridiculous the rest of the time!!!

  • @allusernamesareunava

Dude, if you don't like her, then why the hell did you click on this vid?!?!

Jeeze. If you don't like her, that's fine. It's your opinion.

But keep it to yourself. Don't post it on a link that's watched by people who DO like her.

  • @allusernamesareunava That's okay, you're absoluly (sic) ridiculous all of the time.

  • love her voice n all that, but the most interesting part of this seems to be her facial expressions while shes singing... Singing like that looks really hard on her body...

  • Oh Lord. Yeah, she moves a lot. But lets see you sing like that. Oh wait... you cant!

  • @bobzeda oh I am very familiar with the play. But there comes a point when the "campiness" of it all gets in the way of the vocals, and she has reached that point in this clip. I guess I just prefer how it was done in the movie version! Big ridiculous character voice and a lot less flailing around. lol

  • I think her voice would have been more stable had she not been so dramatic with her moves. Waaaay too much movement I think. But she's still a phenomenal singer!

  • @bsusaxplaya

The entire play " Little Shop of Horrors" is a big campy play. She is singing the song as her character and it's all 'camp' (big gestures and big accent) but she's awesome.

  • Insane omg an awesome boice

  • She one-upa him big time.

  • i thought she was going to eat him! she reminds me of stacey slaughters mum from eastenders, but she is however amazing!

  • WOAH. I did not expect that HUGE voice to come out of her!

  • He said "wash off your mascara" and she wipes her lips XD

  • OMG her voice gives me chills, its so unique but moving.. Awesome!

  • when she sings that is.

  • she's not the most attractive of singers.

  • @BubblyBethie

She's a stage actress. They have to portray many characters. Stage actresses aren't like movie stars (they aren't supposed to be 'beautiful'). Look at her in the movie, Little Shop of Horrors singing this song. She looks a lot better with the blond wig and makeup. Singing and acting count more than 'looks' on a stage.

  • @bobzeda

True that. Though, you have to admit....she does have a natural, classic beauty to go along with that amazing voice of hers. ^_^

She's not airbrushed like a lot of the "glamorous" movie stars we have today. I've also heard that she's very smart and kind.

  • @DemonFoxAkira

Yes, I do like the way she looks, pretty. I also like her personality as well. I just wanted to point out to the previous poster that stages actresses are seldom people who looks like Britney Spears or Scarlett Johanssen. Most pop singers TODAY also use 'auto-tune' to 'fix' their voices when singing live. This is a very 'old' performance and she sings it live without any digital 'help' (they didn't have real 'auto-tune' then;)

  • @bobzeda

I know. I was agreeing with you. ^_^

  • i hate her voice ¬_¬

  • What is the name of the other singer
