I remember when this was shown on PBS. They must've been doing a beg-a-thon. That's the only time they had concerts. THen they said we should join in support of this type of programming. But by denying support, I forced them to play it at least whenever they needed cash...

Wow, you're very lucky to have seen him! And OMG why is he opening up for someone, they should be opening up for him! I mean, I know it's Buddy Rich and everything, but Maynard is just as great if not better.

I just told another YouTube(r) about your tape. I also had this entire show on BETAMAX, but my ex threw it out when we got divorced. I still have my cassette that I recorded simultaneously on that date.

Great video. I saw Maynard "Live" twice in San Francisco in the late 70's; at The Warfield 1977 and The Great American Music Hall in 1985, where he opened for Buddy Rich's Big Band.
