I think it's hilarious that TJ e-begs. 8 or 9 months ago he was asking for money for a new HD camera and then a few months later he is wearing brand new glasses, but who cares? He still has viewers and subscribers. His latest stunt is even funnier. He is trying to raise $20,000 at indieGoGo for a website idea and has $11,000 raised. He only needs to pay indieGoGo 4% or 9% depending if he reaches his goal or not. I would never donate but I don't hate the guy for trying.

I don't see a problem if a artist asks for money for a project that's going to entertain thousands if not millions of people. If you can't advance...leave that job. My father started in a 9-5, advanced and now owns his own company. I wouldn't consider that a dead end. Hollywood is also a different issue. When I pay 8 bucks to see a film, I get to see it. With E-beggers they squander the the money and don't follow through. That was the point.

I don't mind when people ask for money, but only if it's for the benefit of the channel. A good example would be if the person's camera broke, they couldn't make videos, and asked their fans for help. However, if a partner asks for money? That seems a bit far fetched, since they're already making money in the first place.
I don't think e-begging is that big of a deal. I have a problem with it though when donations are supposed to be used for a project that never gets started. I also don't like when hot chicks try to use their sexuality to solicit donations.

I agree but if a fellow atheist or ANYONE seriously in need of money because they are lacking basic necessities like Food, water, shelter, and yes perhaps a somewhat dependable car *depending* if I believe them and have some extra money I may SHARE some of my money with them. (that's my personal choice). It's a free country. For some areas of America it can be extremely hard to find a job. I know some desperate friends that have applied to dozens of jobs, and have still been denied.

e-begging, properly applied, can be profitable as much or more than Adsense..
However eBegging is an alternative to work (or professional trash picking in my case) for those off us incompetent to hold a steady employment or just are plain lazy such as myself & unable to collect any socialist programs to bring home the bacon.

Another difference with religious donations and e-begging is that not all the money goes towards the religion; usually a small sum of the donations are given to charity too, or at least thats how is it in the UK anyway. I like the concept of merchandising your channel more. Like having ur own logo and sticking that on a t-shirt or something, in that sense u atleast get something real and support something you enjoy. I agree but if a fellow atheist or ANYONE seriously in need of money because they are lacking basic necessities like Food, water, shelter, and yes perhaps a somewhat dependable car *depending* if I believe them and have some extra money I may SHARE some of my money with them. (that's my personal choice). It's a free country. For some areas of America it can be extremely hard to find a job. I know some desperate friends that have applied to dozens of jobs, and have still been denied.

e-begging, properly applied, can be profitable as much or more than Adsense..
However eBegging is an alternative to work (or professional trash picking in my case) for those off us incompetent to hold a steady employment or just are plain lazy such as myself & unable to collect any socialist programs to bring home the bacon.
Besides it still typically costs less to support an eBegger than pay for his incarceration for instance should his lack of funds lead them astray.

Another difference with religious donations and e-begging is that not all the money goes towards the religion; usually a small sum of the donations are given to charity too, or at least thats how is it in the UK anyway. E-begging on the other hand is just pure greed particularly in the cases you've discussed.

If you're in a church it's mandatory to give money regularly and in the long run you'll give a LOT of it. How much money do you think an individual viewer gives to these atheist "pastors" in their entire life? 5$? 10$? And it's optional.

I like the concept of merchandising your channel more. Like having ur own logo and sticking that on a t-shirt or something, in that sense u atleast get something real and support something you enjoy. Thats much better than e-begging which I will never participate in.
