Cube is one of my favorite movies ever - original and interesting storyline, great acting and visual effects. Worth, Leaven and Holloway were my favorite characters. Too bad they died. Anyway I love this film and think that Cube series influenced Saw franchise, House of 9, Kill Theory and many other similar films. Cube is one of my fav horrors of the 90's - along with Deep Rising, Lord of Illusions, Copycat, Candyman, Body Snatchers, Alien 3, Man's Best Friend, Disturbing Behavior and Scream

on reply to people knowing about this film (4:22) theyre just fuckin retarded. Alderson just fell to pieces (sucky way to go)

sometimes it takes a bit more analyzation during the watch, but from the sounds of it the gore threw you off, and since the only real gore was in the first 15 minutes, you were thrown off in the first 15 minutes. ( not a good start)

the movie is not for everyone, by no means.

and if one goes in thinking its saw they are off to a bad start, because its not anything like saw. SAW is porn, pure and simple.

REVIEW:

the movie was not meant to be a mystery/thriller as much as a character study of the human collapsing under pressure and stress, and role reversal that occurs because of it.

also, it showed different character types in our society- each character carried a stereotype used in everyday society, but by the end when those walls broke by stress and anguish, thier true characters, abilities, and desires were shown, which led though to the climax.

an easy 7.5 out of 10 in my book

WORTHY NOTES:

-yes, acting can be a little hammy, adding to some of the fun.

-each of the characters were named after prisons. (further symbolism)

-BOTH sequals sucked (what a shocker), but Natali never intended sequals, other directors and producers took it over.

-Hypercube and cube zero are not cannon or apart of the original cube story, they are both "spin-offs".

i loved it. i thought it was alot like saw. if you didn't like it, then you either don't like gore, scary movies, or all of the thinking because you're not good at math...lol

3 was utter bull****, 2 was barley passable, the original WAS the only one worth anything, natali never intended to make more.

but we all know crack head producers had to take his great work and s*** all over it.
