I kind of thought the same until I heard him speaking. But that's actually what he sounds like when he speaks. You are right though, a lot of people in Scotland will automatically go for the contrived Americanized twang. I do think that's slightly changing now though. Regional accents seem to be fairly acceptable and there are many bands in Glasgow, Dundee, etc who sing in their own very broad native accents.
uh huh. Twilight Sad defo. The View as well? Im not that into the view but the twilight sad are a brilliant band.
Its funny how when singing traditional music it would be frowned upon if we started to sing in another accent, yet with other genres there are different rules.
