  • @phobiaspasm Hey, thanks man...Happy Holidays :).

    J

  • @JosephMCorbett To you too:)

  • GREAT JOB as always man!Get an sm57! Yeah you nailed that 3:33 bit... i think its what is going on in the track.. its very likely cause its consistent with the song... the bass is doing the same thing in the beginning so its not a far stretch that Adam is doing it on 3:33.Tool does make songs that "make sense" in that way.An SM57 would make it perfect man!

  • @DMTfabric Ya, I tried the SM57, but it didn't work for what I needed. It was just too quiet. So, instead of buying more gear to make it work in my rig, I just bought another camera altogether...the Zoom Q3HD. Now I've got decent audio capture and it's HD. As for 3:33, ya, I think so. Even if Adam isn't doing what I'm doing, he sure isn't just doing the same old riff as in the beginning. I'm also quite proud of little bits like the fill at :54 that people miss...

  • @JosephMCorbett I hear you, another choice of course would be the Heil PR40.Yeah you should be proud.. youve got good ears.

  • Awesome man. Great job. The guitar is awesome.

  • @BILLYSTACY1979 Hey thank you...on all counts. Glad you liked it.

  • It's really nice and rare to see the older crowd shred some metal, let alone being a great player. Also thanks for taking the time to completely nail that solo man... good job as usual I assume ;)

  • @Meshuggaaaahhhhh Thanks. Yeah, just turned 40...yuck :(. However, I still feel like a kid, so that's what matters :). Thanks for the props...Third Eye coming soon!

  • are you in the Bay Area or do you just have a black hoodie for every occasion? :P

  • @SideEffectt I just love hoodie's :). Wish I could wear them year 'round. Seen you around here before...you have some of the most accurate covers. Also seen you at Tooltabs....good work. Peace.

    J

  • @JosephMCorbett Haha. Yea I was gonna say if you're in the Bay Area, I'm in SF pretty often. Could jam sometime.

Your covers are really good too man. Just discovered your videos when you subscribed. You've got a great ear and your playing is solid!

  • @SideEffectt That would be awesome to jam...you've got some chops on the bass. You've got chops on the guitar too...but I've never played bass, lol. Thanks for the compliments!

    J

  • @JosephMCorbett I wear hoodies all year around! LOVE IT!

  • Beautiful guitar. Great cover.

  • @brokenseatbelt Thanks, on both counts :) !

  • @Zackbiffle Well, I started out with tabs from Tooltabs dot net. No tab is perfect, so next I'll watch as many covers as I can...like you're doing :). However, nobody plays a Tool song like Adam, so I watch all the live footage I can find. It's tough though, as many people focus on Maynard when they are filming...so you'll just find bits and pieces here and there of Adam. And finally, I use my own ear. And practice, practice, practice.

    J

  • great cover dude. saw this vid as a response to my Tool live.

  • @killzy Thanks a lot! Ya, that's a great video...really good sound. I watch as much live Tool footage as I can when I'm preparing for a new cover. I also think Adam has a phenomenal live tone and am always fooling around with gear trying to find it.

    J

  • Zajebiste :D This is an incredibly Talkbox:)

  • @TheGrapesSour Thanks!

    J

  • that was frickin awesome man, i had a feeling you would have a talk box for this one when ya posted it. Cool cool cool,!! The solo to this song is one of my favorites of all time, nvever used a talk box before, what kinda sounds do you have to make to get what you hear when you are playing.

  • @TheMrjohhnyonthespot Hey thanks a lot! I'm using a Banshee II, and even though there is a mic there, it's not needed at bedroom levels...which is where I play :). It has an internal speaker...which runs the sound up the tube. The cool feature is that it also has a "pass through"...where the original sound is also routed through to the amp. I ran delay, flange, and wah (full forward for feedback) through the Talkbox to get the same/similar sound as Adam. Hope this helps.

  • Oh my LP fixed and rockin =D I put it in for setup and i'm having them put those skinny top heavy bottom strings on there =) Hope it works out good LOL

  • @spider5001 Awesome. Hope it works out, sure it will.

    J

  • Right on man!! =D Awesome job with the talk box! When i first seen the mic i thought you was gonna tear your shirt off and start singin hahahaha =P Great job man!!!

  • @spider5001 Hey bud! Thanks! Ya, I thought about it for a second. But I knew I'd loose all my subscribers, friends, family, etc., etc. Lol.

    J

  • @JosephMCorbett hahaha! X) You can do it!!!!!!!!
