You should read Forward, by Peptuck, on FF.net. It's a "Season 2" fic, and it retconned the "Serenity" character deaths, so there's nothing to worry about :D THe writing is simply stunning, I really love it myself.
The only thing is, Peptuck is a Rayne fan and it appears that there's going to be some of that later on in the fic (what's not already implied, that is) so if you can't stand the pairing, I would say don't read it.
@victimized15 Right now, it's still not clear which pairing he's going for (he hasn't officially mentioned who she's ending upwith) but.... yeah. The writing is amazing, and it gets pretty dark sometimes, though so far he's managed not to Joss anyone.
