  • Roger Grimsby and Bill Beutel WERE THE TEAM in New York.

  • One of the greatest i miss him!

  • I was also lucky enough to meet Mr.Beutelin NYC years ago..a sweet, caring, intelliegent and gentleman. I still miss him.

  • For the past year I was thinking to myself, I wonder how Bill Beutel is doing? Well I really didn't know about his passing. I can't believe he's gone :( he will be missed R.I.P. Bill Beutel

They should have put the part where he says "Thanks everyone I'm Bill Beutel, good luck, be well, good night"

  • Truly No Bias No Bull with Bill Beutel... We need more news people like him again.

  • Great piece. Growing up I always remember hearing his distinct voice on the tube.

  • If I was making that promo at :50, I would have included "Supermarket Sweep" creator Al Howard and his wife, Alice, after all, Al previously worked with Bill at ABC as an advertising copywriter.

  • It was a memorable honour to have been interviewed by Bill Beutel in 1988...

  • The best New York news had to offer... no one will compare to Bill Beutel. He is missed.

  • you said it....two and a half years after his death....and it is so obvious that no one will ever come close. he is missed...terribly. thanks for your comment.....it means a lot.

  • He is the reason why I went into television. Thanks you for honoring this wonderful man. It means alot to me my friend!

  • He is my grandpa and my mom was one of them in the picture on the couch. That was my house and I went to the memorial.

  • who are you? he's my opah, and that's my mother and my house. You are not related to me or you are Zoe. but you're not, so screw you.

  • no Zoe is my cousin. And that picture was taken on my couch in my house. Zoe has a brother named Max and I watched your youtube video and I have no clue who you are.

  • Bill was GREAT it was so sad to see this video knowing hes not with us anymore

  • He passed away in 2006. RIP Bill. I grew up watching him. :(

  • That is very nice to remember a person of whom has done a great job. I wonder, what happened to him?

  • Did you miss the part where Al Sharpton talked about people "mourning Bill Beutel" ?

  • I guess that I did, Al Sharpton had said Bill Beutel has done very well in sharing stories, and doing things for the community. I've remembered watch WABC News while visiting with my biofather's parents in New York City way back in the 1980's & 1990's. This was when I was still living in N.H. and then moving to N.C., and still living in N.C. 20 years later.

  • growing up in ny at the time , always watched him

  • Bill Beutel, they don't make them like that anymore.

  • Wow,what a great anchor.Wonder where to find more of this man here at the Tube.

  • Bill Beutel was great!! I grew up watching Bill Beutel and Roger Grimsby. I loved his sign off Good Luck, Be Well!

  • Wonderful tribute. Also sadly poignant to see the comments from Joel Siegel, now knowing he would pass about a year later.

  • Every industry has a person who "sets the standard", and Mr. Beutel did just that in broadcast journalism. I was watching his last broadcast, and remembered all those years I used to watch him with my father.

  • Grimsby and Beutel were the best.

  • Bill Beutel, my role model, my hero, the true face of broadcast television journalism.

We are coming to a year and a month since his passing, but in his death, Beutel continues to inspire young broadcast journalists.

He is the man who makes me want to do what I do.

He is the man who made me want to get into this business.

    "Good Luck, and be well."

  • God Bless Bill Beutel.

  • Damn I must be old I remember Bill Beutel, Roger Grimsey,Jim Bouton, and Tex Antoine not to mention a young man named Geraldo Rivera as a correspondent

  • Wow, wonderful. His son Peter is also seen often on tv.. but as an expert financial trader.

  • I remember watching him (when I was a kid) anchor the news with Roger Grimsby, Storm Field and Warner Wolf. I can't remember the female anchor's names, I think Sue Simmons was one of them.

  • Ms. Simmons was never on WABC, needless to say; I seem to recall that the female anchors on Ch. 7 at the time you cite included Anna Bond and Joan Lunden. Probably by this time also Rose Ann Scamardella.

  • Any appearance of Grimsby with Sue Simmons came during his stint at WNBC in the late 80's

  • Absolutely.

  • That was really sad.

  • bill was the best anchor for nyc it hasn't been the same since

  • That was simply beautiful. Bill Beutel was Eyewitness News. Once he left, it was never the same. God bless him and his family.
