I would suggest you loosen the trucks a little more, you seem kind of stiff on the board. Also compress your knees going into the turns and extend coming out, this will push your board out more giving you more power and will apply more force to the ground. Timing is everything, once you get it right it will feel like the nose of the board will want to go ahead of you. Also ride in the center of the board, use the flex of the board to your advantage.

All right everyone, its been over a year since I've posted this video. I've gotten a little bit better since this video. I now own a Loaded Dervish(flex 1), a Grombiz C2, an SDS stella, and a Landyachtz Switch. The Dervish is a great all around board(pumps like a hooker looking to get payed). The switch is great for sliding and DH but sucks to push or pump. The C2 is just a different ride altogether(kinda squirly) and the Stella is reserved for my newbee friends. sector9 suck1

I'm not an expert in longboarding, but I can say that Landyacht is ultimately for downhill (especially the evo series). Loaded is great for carving and dancing I would say. Also, depending on the person, the flex is great! (sometimes too flexy for my tastes). It's a jack of all trades.

Though there are others like Earthwing SC/WG/MM that are jack of all trades shifted more towards carving, some downhill, and less pumping and dancing.

Think of pumping a longboard like swinging on a swing set while standing up (did you ever do that when you were younger?)

As each carve reaches it's peak, pump your legs against the board sort of as you would on a swing. That'll force the board around and into your carve on the other side.

Also, rather than moving your center of gravity around the board to turn it, try forcefully shoving the board around your center of gravity.

(sort of from your knees down. Don't try to steer the board with your ankles though)
