Nitpick: It's great Hollywood, (or whatever) finally understand about medieval swordfighting... but why, oh why do they persist with this 'broadsword' nonsense. Broadswords are Renaissance italian weapons, a whole three centuries later... (I mean we are talking Ezio Auditore period).
@socrateswept its not a broadsword its a great sword or zweihander, the broadsword style of weapon had been used for ages before the renaissance normans vikings franks all used them
@allmodcons6 I'm afraid I disagree, the first instances of the word Broadword do seem to be from around the 15th and 16th centuries.
Having said that, the reality of this issue is damned hard to determine so I may well be talking out of the wrong orifice. On the other hand, I agree that what Mr. Purefoy (Marshall) wields is definately a Two Hander/Greatsword/Warsword.
IronClad is badass and James Purefoy plays an awesome role, He is actually believable in the templar uniform and wielding that huge fuckin broadsword. It has some notable support actors and was casted very well. from a historical standpoint it is extremely inaccurate but who gives a shit when it turns out so great.
"once you set it in motion, you had to go with the flow." yea he's talking about his penis. definitely. there's no other way hes talking about anything else.
This guy killed it in Ironclad. He became one of my favorite actors because he was so amazing. Last line... "Is killing a noble thing? But a life fought for others, that is a noble thing and that is a noble thing"

I LOVE our regional accents, and like James here, proud to show it. Not much here, but slipping out now and again.West country, Ooo Aar.
I doubt the yanks can believe how wide the range when they ever hear them - the film makers rarely use them, idiotically.
We have more regional accents than all other english speaking countries COMBINED.
