kristen gets way too much flak. I'd say 90% of even the best actors only play themselves anyway, from Pacino to Hugh Gant to Walken or Buscemi . It's probably because they are so wierd and unique. Only a few have an actual range, like Malkovich, Oldman, Streep, Crowe, Norton. Kristen cannot cry though.....

Her head shaking does detract from the movie. I read the books and never got the feeling that Bella had a flatline personality or that she had tics. I wish they had corrected her acting problems at some point early on in the movie, then the whole thing would have been more enjoyable to watch.

Her head shaking does detract from the movie. I read the books and never got the feeling that Bella had a flatline personality or that she had tics. I wish they had corrected her acting problems at some point early on in the movie, then the whole thing would have been more enjoyable to watch.

George Clooney used to have similar ticks. However, he pretty much recognized them and eliminated them from his performances. Compare his performance in that awful Batman film. You will notice the head tilt and the head shake. Now watch him in Michael Clayton. All those ticks are gone. I'm guessing, Kristen Stewart will eventually recognize her faults. How can she miss them? There are an infinite number of YouTube video spoofing her. If her career lasts, she will fix her ticks.

for those who say that's Bella's character, awkward, shy, etc, i never got the sense she was unable to speak properly. nor that it took her about an hour to get out a complete sentence. not sure where they got that idea from. i loved the books and the movies are good, but the frustrating thing is she truly cant act to save her life,
she has the same face no matter what situation she is in. & you cant really tell her emotions. its a shame really. maybe the next films will be better...

WHat this means is that she can ONLY play one role and sure there are others, Vin Diesel for ex that only plays one role but with Vin it works because he is a natural badass. With Kristen it doesn't work at all cause she is unintersting, she fails in delivering so that we the audience gets intersted in her character. Twilight sucks as well. Horrible movie franscishe

They're just blurting out a bunch lines awkwardly, they don't even know how to convey emotion on screen. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who felt like they were watch a train crash when they saw her acting in this film. i was obsessed with the books long before the movies and people knew what twilight was about....the movies ruined the books for me because neither kristen nor rob can act! well...ive seen rob in other movies and he does alright but for some reason (maybe trying to cover his accent? :S ) he just cant act well as edward.

I'm not much of a fan but, it's pretty hard to portray a character well if the character has no personality at all. There's a reason why Edward can't read Bella's mind, and it's because there's nothing in it at all.

She is able to play so different characters (like Bella from Twilight and Malory from Welcome To The Rileys ... totally different). She gives a ''part'' of herself to every character she plays. And she is not trying to be ''perfect''. She is just herself. That's why I like her.
