Interesting to hear. I always thought the studio versions of this were a bit too over produced (but then again this was the mid 80s), but Phil's voice sounded really great. The live version on 'Life' I thought was better - probably one of the rare highlights (along with Don't Believe A Word) on a pretty naff sounding live record.
This is one of my two favorite tracks on T&L, "Holy War" being the other. It's incredibly evocative, and probably the best use Lizzy made of Darren Wharton -- although his work on "Someday She's Going to Strike Back" is exceptional, too.
