  • Si molto bravo. You have a great touch on the Piano. I am glad I did discover you on Youtube!

  • Echt, je speelt dit prachtig (:

  • A lot of people are going to point out this or perhaps that, when in reality they will never be able to achieve the level of technique and performance you have on your instrument.

  • You play this very beautifully. Nice, soft touch.

  • Very good job

  • Everything you play is so wonderful!

  • FFC would of been proud to hear this! Very well played!

  • you are amaizing! you are my inspire for learn piano:D

  • That was...beautiful. Stunning. Thank you!

  • this is great, i wish i could play as well

  • Pure beauty.

  • nice video! :))

    your playing is great! :))

    beautiful! bravo! :))

  • woooww

    ...beautiful..

  • Very, very beautifully played indeed. Some parts could probably us a little more crescendo, but other than that, beautiful, very beautiful.

  • You play well. Maybe try to improve your intonation. Speed up, slow down, watch the sheet youre playing, because the italian words all have a purpose. Also try to watch famous piano players.

    Good job!

    Groeten uit Nederland;)

  • Thanks for your comment, this video is recorded more than 2 years ago. I hope I've booked some progress in that period, haha:)

  • This is a beautiful song, but you don't make it sound like Chopin. Lack of expression and passion. Certain passages need turbulence, others rubato.

  • This is beautiful.

May I ask what piano is this ?

I'm not saying it's beautiful only because the piano is good.

    Your playing is really clear.

    I don't really feel Chopin's spirit.

But I find that also good.

  • I like your Chopin! I love Chopin too!

  • super gespeeld!

  • Stunning... Bravo!!! from Pete in Australia. Thank you!!! Bravo

  • bella!!!

  • wow :)

  • So beautiful, thanks for uploading ! You introduced me to this great piece!

  • your a garbageman and your jealous. NOOB?? how old are you. If you dont like it, try constructive criticizm, if you know what that means

  • 13,000 views?? that's it?1

  • I think you love this piece ;)

    good job.

Could you please let me know how you guys recorded it? it sounds so clear.

  • Well, you're right! I love this piece ;)

    Thanks for your compliment.

I recorded it twice (for the different camera angles) with a Sennheiser microphone and one simple cheap digital camera.

  • I've always had trouble with the two against three on this song but hopefully someday I'll figure it out.

Great Job Michiel by the way!

  • VG technically. But dynamics too compressed. Case in point: the passage from approximately 3:00 to 4:00 (leading to the arabesque) should be substantially more turbulent and forte.

  • Very good job on this peace. I love you piano very in tune does it have good key action and how much was it.

you did do an exceptional job.

    5*'s!

  • nice one michiel!!!

    you're really good!!!!

I hope I could play like you!!!

  • You don't really keep the piano next to the window and radiator, do you? I guess its there for the video only being a nice backdrop.

Nice job - you can't please everyone so don't try.

  • what camera do you use for your recordings? Is it reallly only one camera, that's really hard to believe being that the transition between "scenes" is so precise, even if you were to play this piece 50 times and record it at different angles we would notice some discrepancy which is not seeing here, well, anyway, also, what piano is this? It has a beautiful sound, ok enough questions for now! :) Keep up the good playing!!!

  • I totally agree with Pwnderer: even if you try to put movement here and there and to use the rubato, the piece sounds pretty flat on the whole. I'm speaking about the overall impression, like you're watching a painting from afar (you get what I mean?). I suggest you listen carefully to the Pollini's performance. Nice recording anyway, quite scenografic, bowing your head at the end... and you're a handsome guy, though!

  • how are you able to use your video at diffrent angles with one camera

  • i think he uses mor than one, and he then edits it

  • that's not true

  • one camera and good editing skills:)

  • how did you make your video be able to be seen from different angles?

  • Hallo Michiel,

Sehr schön gespielt, gefällt mir wirklich gut. Dazu wieder in diesem so geschmackvoll eingerichteten Wohnzimmer mit dem wunderbaren Ausblick in den Garten...

Das ganze Video ist ein Genuss!

    herzl. Grüsse K.

  • the left hand should be quieter. and right hand should flow more

and more feelings on the right hand.

ad chopin is the romatique era.

so i guess... feel the music a bit more.

  • I agree with you about Chopin being in the Romantic era, just remember though that it is very well documented that he absolutely hated that term and didn't want to abide by it;

  • this is really good, I enjoyed the way you edited your video, just a little hint, next time try not to "cut" the top of your head. As far as the piano playing though, it was very good and full of emotions, I disagree with Pwnderer, I think you put enough effects in the song where it's not distracting, try watching lang lang's version and get back to me...

  • I haven't cut the top of my head, it is only the camera position which is wrong:)

Thanks for the compliment! I also disagree with pwnderer...

  • I understand what you mean. I think I would play it now much different than during that moment. But wait for the first Ballade of Chopin! I will upload it in oktober.

  • Well man, I'm looking forward to listening to that! I'm sure you'll make a good job. I'd like to upload something from me in one or two months too, but now totally out of practice...

  • whydid you go at a faster pace at 3:35???

  • @wiiwin6 right i missed it! Anyway a good execution may be i can play an half like him :)!

  • hello...nice playing.

can i ask for a copy of the music sheet of that piece ..i need it badly for my recital this coming november..hopu u will consider sending it to me...you can just email it to me...

    plss..and tnx...

    ♫♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪♫♪

  • try google

  • Very nice piece, and very well played !

You did a good job on this piece !

  • Though the piece is played clearly and almost without mistakes, i did not feel like there was much musical development or emotions put into the music. It seemed like one tone/scene of a story, did not seem to have any crescendos, decrescendos or useful musical effects at all. Good job on the preciseness though.

  • i really would like to learn this but i'm not sure which book it is in.

  • Look at the YouTube title... maybe the Chopin Nocturnes?????

  • When are you going to submit more? I really enjoy listening to your playing.

  • his videos are all really good and mistake free. little mistakes are fine, but try to make little as possible when in music. He only posts his really high quality videos

  • Hé Paul, thanks for this compliment!

  • I also go by Pedro

  • JK, i go by francisco, wrong name..

  • I think at the end of august or begin september.

  • Excellently! Very well done. A beautyfull piece of music and really nice heartfelt playing. I really enjoy your music. Thank you for sharing your musical talent. 5*****

  • Wow! Thanks for your compliment!! I don't get much comments on this video, but luckily there are people who enjoy:) It was a great pleasure to play it for you;)

    Michiel

  • great job, but i usually go with a more slow legato feel. allows me to be a little more expressive

  • Heeeej Elis! Nou dankjewel hoor! Had je dit videootje echt nog niet eerder gezien?? Misschien wel een nocturne voor jou!?;)

    Groetjes Michiel

  • Beautiful

  • I have listened to all five of your videos and I think you are a wonderful pianist! Thank you for sharing your beautiful music!

  • i liked this a lot!

this is one of my favorite nocturnes,

i'd just likd to suggest one thing, which is to have a little more "transparent" sound as urs is very solid, which is really good of course. and maybe in the very opening, the left hand could be a little softer, legato, and moving in direction. i still loved it a lot though!

  • in a trance to how cute to repel

  • Have u ever been in a concert before?

You play perfect with your heart.

I am also studying to become a pianist one day too.

  • wow..very expressive

  • Oh! This is one of my favorite Chopin pieces. Thank for playing. I'd already save it in order to be my inspiration.

  • Beautifully played. A pleasure to listen to. Greetings from Scotland.

  • very nice interperatiaion.... also I really like your room. Is that a hamburg steinway?

  • lol why would you blindly assume that its a steinway, nevermind one made in hamburg?

In his other videos he says its a Yamaha C3, 6'1".

  • my assumption was the non-satin finish and the tone of the instrument. I never heard a yamaha with that much resonation. very impressive!

  • ilovechopinprelude, looks like a Yamaha C3 to me. Check out the logo on the front.

  • sooooo beautiful...

    look my videos too :)

  • sooooo beautiful...

  • best mooi, prettige feestdagen.

  • Well done in Chopin's Nocturne! Hope you get to play his Waltz and those famous Etudes!

  • I am a fan of your videos. You are a good pianist and I look forward to more.

  • I liked you version, but Janne Mertanen beats every interpretation...

    Toch een mooie prestatie ;-)

  • I also wish to respond to the comment that you seem to be sitting too far back from the keyboard. It is my impression that you are very tall, with long arms. If you were to sit closer, I believe it would restrict your ability to attack properly. Your wrist and finger position are text-book perfect and that seems to be the result of your seated distance from the keyboard. At any rate nothing seems to be impairing your ability to play/interpret incredibly well.

  • You have an incredibly easy touch...lovely technique and an interestingly relaxed approach to all you play, very romantic and sensual. This is so appealing I've watched all you've posted and would like to see/hear more.

  • Very Nice Playing, my favorite Chopin piece and you made it come to life.

  • Sniff, sniff...so beautiful!! :)

  • Wow, Michiel, that was absolutely beautiful! Your production values (two camera shoot) are too high for YouTube! ;->

  • wow! awesome. All dynamics in place, great rubato, use of pedal, etc. Please, please post more!

  • Not only is the music beautiful, but the setting in which you play and the instrument itself are gorgeous, too.

  • absurd that you dont get 5 stars on this, its absolutely great!

  • As usual, good job!

  • impressing good work! love your videos!

  • Thanks Kakimetomtam! And thanks for all the other compliments!!

  • impresionante que lleves solo desde el 2003 con lo clásico...muy buena interpretación, sí señor

  • You play this so BEAUTIFULLY! wOw!

    Lovely.

    Merci bien.

I played this piece, but not nearly as beautifully as you. I have to learn rubatos.

    (^o^)

  • i like the way you played it

  • Magnífico.

(PS. Celia, I've marked your response as spam by error.

    I didn't want to... Sorry).

  • Very Nice! :)

    Celia
