i discover them when i was reading a old metal magazine this was 2004 ,and that gene produce them .i really like their sound ,its good to cheke it out the ezo when they were called flatbacker.haill japanese hard rock and metal .:loudness, anthem ezo/flatbacker,earthshaker,bow wow,x ray, marino ,44 magnum, sniper, outrage
EZO should have been the reigning band from Japan - and any problems with the 2nd album (which was still really good overall) were from pressure brought on by the distributing label.
I had a friend introduce me to this band...I have no idea where I was but man this band kicks some serious ass. Can't get enough of their music...Awesome
I agree, the first album was much better in that Masaki showed more of a diverse vocal range and on the second album he used that pinched nasal screech exclusively that drove me CRAZY in the worst way. His accent is rather minimal here, I understand him just fine. And I agree; both this band and X Japan rocked, and anybody who calls them posers has no clue. Enough said.
I bought their eponymous cassette in the late 80s because the cover looked cool...judging the book by its cover really paid off that time! I've since acquired CD versions of the self-titled and 'Fire Fire' works. Excellent.
I found them both on eBay; the second CD appears to be a Japanese import (really cool), and the debut was especially surprising - it has the word 'PROMOTIONAL' across the actual CD. I didn't pay much for them either.
Dude, you're an asshole and if anyone is lying, it was their tour manager because i'm just telling you the exchange that took place and the venue i was working at. I looked up the drummer and what he was doing in 1996 by the way and he played with several bands that year...not just Loudness

Well number one dumbass, i'm 47....and the 19996 Olympics lasted what? A week or two? Plus i'm telling you exactly what happened and what was said between myself and their tour manager...I've been on many major tours and despite what you believe, there are often breaks....maybe the guy had a break and did thei gig...i'll look into it for you how about that?
I work at Sound Inn Studios in Chiyoda, Tokyo, in post production & mastering. One of our head producers often does work for JVC, and has produced for the band he is now apart of. He was a live engineer in the 60s and 70s for bands such as Flower Travellin Band and JL&C. The 1996 Olympics were July-August, Loudness were touring at this time, and also making a best album. You have already admitted you are a liar via your age. 47 years old, and your English is worse than my 8 years of English.
Here is another weird story......i used to be a live sound engineer and in 1996 when the olympics came to Atlanta i was called to come do a set up and soundcheck for a Japanese cover band. So i'm miking the drums when i notice a few of the guys's sticks that say EZO on them and i ask the tour manager is he is the guy from EZO and he says yes he is. He tells the drummer that i am a huge fan and the drummer says "Oh you must be that guy that bought the album" i love this band, one of the best ever
I bought all 4 of their albums, good story! I always Liked EZO. Back in 1989 or 1990, the radio said EZO was coming to Tijuana, Mexico, I live in San Diego. Anyway, I was excited! But something happened and they didn't play for some reason. One of my favorite bands.
You are a liar. He was performing with loudness at that time. In 1996 there was year long tour of Japans heavy metal "All Stars". In your profile, it says you are 88 years old, a mid-70 year old live sound engineer? You are a pathological liar.
a weird story... the 1st time i listened to this cassette, yes cassette... was in my car & the tape just spit out during a song, more than once. every time i checked, it was the song "destroyer". that REALLY freaked me out at the time!
but, i loved this band when they came out in the 80's. it's really cool to see them reappear, thanx to the internet! by the way, i am computer illiterate, so finding this was awesome.
Saw them at Toads place in New Haven CT when this album came out. They put on such an awesome show and the band was very friendly. I can't say enough good things about them. Great musicians, great people! VERY MEMORABLE SHOW!!
EZO were called Flatbacker in fact- they were the kinda metal band that had really cool hair ya know? Sure they wanted to sound like Loudness cuz every Japmetal band wanted to sound like Loudness but they wanted to dress like Johnny Thunders too Johnny Thunders from the future even and its all so goddamn loud that you simply cannot listen to it at a reasonable volume, because it WONT LET YOU." - sleazegrinder
AWESOME tune here. Yes, Masaki's accent is very minimal and I wish he'd used this vocal approach more often, he sounds great! Is it me or is he channeling Andrew Eldritch for all he's worth here? Bottom line, great stuff; I wish these guys had made it further in America.
CD Universe has it. Go to the site, type in EZO in the white box next to artist...it'll pop up. It's re-issued from japan...39.29...expensive, but it is available.
OK MOFOS!!! I think I found Shoyo Iida!!! Apparently he's working as an executive Sushi Chef at a restaurant in Miami called SushiSamba. It's a fusion of Sushi, Brazilian, and Peruvian cuisine. Place looks high dollar, but you can apparently take sushi lessons from Shoyo Iida himself!!!!
Great track, great album DESPITE the Gene Simmons kiss of death. Anything Gene Simmons produced outside of Kiss wound up to be dismal selling projects, but a great band nonetheless.
Excellent song! Good riffing, and I like how Masaki sings in a lower register; it actually sounds better than the usual nasal screech he used; I also like how he reserved that til the ending, when it sounds like he's really getting into it. His accent isn't as heavy as I thought it was, too, he's actually very easy to understand on this tune. And is it me or is he channeling Andrew Eldritch (Sisters of Mercy) in this video? Very cool, altogether!
Damn I want this song but it cost almost $100, i was in 7th grade when this song came out. it still kick ass today
