I mean is it a programme that you use with a bunch of random instrumental sounds that you put together in a tune? Or is it some other way?

If anypony could tell me it would help a lot, I would love to start doing these kind of things.

@Avoxsion In my case, I make music live. I know a lot of ponies use purely software to make their music, but I'm a hardware pony; pretty much all my music is played live on a keytar, track by track in layers. For this piece I recorded the whole harp track live in one go, then the whole cello track on top afterwards.
