If Mushi (Osamu Tezuka's studio, producers of Astro Boy) did this, that explains why it looks so much like anime. Not long after this was made, Mushi went bankrupt. Rankin-Bass later utilized Top Craft (which helped make Miyazaki's Nausicaa) for some of their later works including The Stingiest Man in Town.
BTW, Becky looks a lot like the other girl character (not Karen, but the other, shorter girl) in Frosty the Snowman which was also animated by Mushi.
@barulez Hear, hear!! She was wonderful at playing young male characters. Aside from the well known Rudolph, I'd advise checking out Rankin/Bass's first theatrical film, "Willy McBean and his Magic Machine." She performed the title character. I just discovered that movie within the past week and have already watched it three or four times because of how cute, creative, and hilarious it is.
OMGGGG - I used to watch as a kid in the late 80's - took me for ever to find it :) wow - make's me so happy to see this again, thanks for the uplaod

The voice of Tom Sawyer is the late Billie Mae Richards. She's gone now but her toons will stay strong and forever young. RIP- BILLIE MAE!
