  • I feel so bad for this guy, while his videos are amusing, there is no way that he is totally right in the head.

  • I want to change my name to Trevor Hirby.com

  • I can't believe this guy lost!

  • I for one always I say the pledge of allegiance to the republic every morning when I come out.

  • I'm Matt Joyce dot com, the Republican candidate for governor.

  • he wants everyone to have a nice day. how can you be against that?

  • So if kill someone, I'll get murdered THEN I'll go to jail? Brilliant!

  • Basil Marceaux FUCK YEAH! COMING AGAIN TO SAVE THE MOTHERFUCKIN DAY YEAH!

  • AMMURRRRICAAAAA

  • he wants to plant grass on any vacant lot. and sell it for gas.

so we can use it for our 'spenses.

  • He is Basil Marceaux dot com.

  • bomb...i will vote for you homie

  • Thank you, Tennessee. I'll be sending you my therapy bill.

  • Basil for president!

  • And that's why you should never sleep with your sister USA is shit because of this hope England never gets like that

  • @eggybread8

I would love to give a rebuttal but I believe rebuttals are banned in Britain, are they not?

  • LOL poor guy. Who did this to him?

  • @sastath Himself, in all honesty. This isn't the first time that he's done this, either; back in 2002, Basil ran for governor as an independent. As you can imagine, without this media bump that he's gotten, he did even worse in 2002 than he just did on August 5.

Finally, who knows? Maybe he'll run as an independent in this election, too, since he just lost the Republican primary.

  • @pantjz Do you know the filing deadline to run as an Independant in TN? I'd love to see him run.

  • @smootout The filing deadline is on August 19th, so it's not too late for him yet. However, Basil only has less than 9 days from this point to make up his mind, and he has shown no intention of filing as an independent thus far.

I'd like to see him keep running too, because he probably has a far better chance in the general election than in the primary; which most people honestly don't care about.

  • @smootout He did run in the primary and received over 3,000 votes. I am sure his next shot at elected office will go even better as many can''t help but love the guy.

  • MORE ON THE NEWS UPDATE: In the Tennessee Republican gubernatorial primary, held on August 5, 2010, Basil Marceaux came in last out of the five candidates. The results were as follows:

Out of 725,822 votes cast, Bill Haslam received 343,828 (47.4%). Zach Wamp received 212,112 (29.2%), followed by Ron Ramsey at 159,571 (22%), and Joe Kirkpatrick at 6,791 (0.9%). Finally, as stated, Basil Marceaux came in last, with 3,520 votes, or one-half percent.

A recount is not expected to occur.

  • @pantjz There must have been a voting computer malfunction. I think it gave him 10 times the votes he really got... I hope so anyway.

  • CC turns this 2 the most funny shit ever!

  • "I'm Basil Marceaux.com"

    LOL!

  • Basil needs to demand a recount - HE WAS ROBBED!

  • if you look real close you can see the labotomy scar

  • Better then Obama

  • typical American

  • have a nice day and uh have nice day

  • @bringmethejamie You must have seen the Colbert Report segment on this. It has a bumper sticker on a car reading:

    Basil Marceaux.com

Have a nice day, and uh,

    have a nice day '10

  • @pantjz lol yeah thats where i got it xD

  • I think people should vote for him for a laugh.

  • @Samprasnadal You know, you're right. What's the worst that could happen if he did become Tennessee's governor? The Senate and Assembly would shoot down any stupid ideas that he gets, and he actually does seem to have some good ideas.

Plus, like you said, listening to him giving all of the speeches would be hilarious.

  • This has got to be a joke.

  • @TheTone714 Actually, it's not a joke at all. This man really is running for governor of Tennessee as a Republican candidate, despite the fact that the polls show him only getting 1-2% of the vote. Considering that his videos have become viral, though, maybe the polls will kick up to 5%.

  • @pantjz plus he got the Colbert bump, should help him a little

  • @perleatsworld Definitely. We can never underestimate the power of the Colbert bump. I mean, if Colbert does for Marceaux what he did for "Movits!", we could be talking about the next governor.

  • @pantjz Damn man that is crazy. I still think one of his relatives or something has convinced him to do this as a joke, or something like that.

  • Mr. Marceaux claims that he was, in fact, NOT drunk when this was filmed. He claimed that his speech was slurred because he has only three teeth in his head, plus the producers kept telling him to shorted and/or lengthen his statements while he was talking.

That being said.....the dude does kinda seem like he has some sort of brain damage. Perhaps an injury he sustained in the Army?

  • sad political reality or brilliant satire? Or perhaps... both.

  • I swear if anyone votes for this guy, God will probably kill you in your sleep.

  • @derpader hahahaha your wrong!!! I'm seriously starting to think the Republican party did this to be funny...maybe they were applying the whole "if you dream big your dreams will be a reality" thing here but come on man, the guy is obviously not all there what if the whole country hops on the bandwagon taking this as a practical joke then he fools around and gets put in the white house and everyone is wondering why crime has went up hahaha

  • @dboydustin He probably can't spell "Washington" or point in it's direction. Is this the real Joe the Plumber?

  • Uh I just got dumber for have listened to that, oh my.....

  • Please tell me that was not for real. 0.o

  • YOU CANT FIND AN INNOCENT CAR, YOU CANT LOOK.

  • @lolyootubelol That's about right. I guess if you never look, you'll never find cars, innocent or not. Wow, this guy is good at paradoxes.

  • My Uncle Randy jerked off to this video twice

  • I know it's people like him who live in the South who voted for George W. Bush for President by huge margins in 2000 and 2004.

  • This could well be the dumbest man in America.

  • @MegaSpliffster unfortunately I think you might be under estimating the depth of stupidity out there. Very scary that this can exist in the most powerful nation on earth...

  • @MegaSpliffster Although it may seem that way, we aren't even close to the stupidest man. I know a man who was president not too long ago, and he didn't have ideas. At least Basil Marceaux has ideas, no matter how stupid they seem.

Basically, there's plenty of better candidates for the governor's job, but I've already seen worse in the presidency. Besides, who else can pardon you for "the rest of you life"?

  • @MegaSpliffster This has to be the FATTEST* man in america.

  • @MegaSpliffster i dunno, i have you seen the george bush administration?

  • @Calebmoyer That's exactly the point I was making in my reply to MegaSpliffster's comment. George W. Bush's administration was crookeder than s**t and didn't do anything. At least we know that Basil Marceaux will try to do something in office.

I'd like to see how today's (August 5) Republican primaries go in Tennessee, and if I find out, I'll post the results.

  • @MegaSpliffster

the dumbest man in america, and uh, america

  • @MegaSpliffster you aint got no pancake mix!

  • @MegaSpliffster

And therefore, by default, the dumbest man in the world.

  • @lukeeeep win

  • @MegaSpliffster smarter then George Bush!

  • Hilarious!

  • he confuses me so much

  • Basil Marceaux.com...GENIUS!!! Now I need to change my last name to .com... Thank you Marceaux!

  • IF he is kidding.... its a good one.

  • This is what happens when Reagan canceled funding for mental institutions

    back in the 80's.

  • "I'm Basil Marceaux.com..."

My mom and I agreed that this guy sounded serioiisly mentally challenged after watching this video. Now that I watched it again, though, I think he really just doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. If he wins, Tennessee is down the crapper.

  • @SuperKawaiiPandaGirl As a resident of Tennessee I have to say that IF Basil wins that's when Tennessee is 'down the crapper'? We've been circling the bowl for many years. The flush is coming with or without this amazingly charismatic Greek God. Basil Marceaux for overlord of planet Earth! Fuck traffic stops!

  • @eighthitcombo Yeah, that's pretty much what I was saying. Being a resident of Kentucky, our standings aren't much better. We've got Rand Paul, oh geez. If he wins, we're moving. And you think Marceaux's a Greek god? Well, more power to ya, I guess. It's your state, vote for who you want to. Though, I wouldn't want him as Overlord.

  • @eighthitcombo And have you seen his website? That's all I'm saying about it, now.

  • @SuperKawaiiPandaGirl All eighhitcombo is looking for is to be pardoned for the "rest of you life!"

  • @pantjz Haha, yeah. When I read that, I shouted "He doesn't have that kind of power!"

  • @eighthitcombo

I'm also a resident, and I'm with ya man. It's either him or that moron that owns that bar in Smyrna.

  • @SuperKawaiiPandaGirl Wish he would come to Michigan so we could get out of the crapper

  • @TheElectrospock78 So do I. Gets him away from my state.

  • Wsmv Ignored the Write-in candidate on the democratic ticket-WSMV Ignored All the independent candidates-No investigative spirit and report only what they read on the monitor-Karaoke news mentality

  • @kountryvaudeville Really? So, their whole promise of covering all of the candidates from the two major parties would appear not to be fulfilled.

  • LMAO, turns out he's like this always.

  • @TheSpiritOfTheTimes Yeah, I know. He did another speech the next day on WSMV, and he performed no better. Could you imagine what it'd be like if he tried to deliver the State of the State address?

  • its amazing that some people are actually allowed out in public anymore....

  • Uhhhhhhh. Yeah.

  • One step up from Palin, I guess.
