wait you run the 18 at 50:1, you're killing your motor, for those classic's at the orginal instructions are best, and thise say 16;1, the 6 is fine cause it is after they switch the rollers but the 18 needs more oil!
I was running 24:1 with non synthetic on my 55 and newer OMC's but is was so smokey... I leaned it up to 32:1.
With the penzoil XLF synthetic blend I started at 32:1 and have been trying leaner mixes with the 18hp.
Back in the 80's we bought STIHL synthetic oil by the barrel for our Tree Service and ran that in my 55 QD1610hp at 50:1 for years and it's still running strong.

I'm just saying it uses a 16:1 mix per OEM
