guys i sell instruments since end of the 80tys..so pls stop this stupid conversation here ..my trimble is best - my leica beat it all.. you sound like the children here in the kindergarten who talk about daddys car. be real-today all three big producers make (more or less) very nice total stations - if your totalstation not fits dont blame it on the totalstation it was your choice - blame it on you. and get more informations next time from that was the market offers you.
Yes jrgolpe, you are right, Trimble S6 is fastest than the TS/TM30, we have a S6 where I work, and i didn't see it turning so fast. But, I compared the S6 and a Leica TCRP1201 for positionning, take a measure and store it, and finally, TCRP1201 is slower to turn and positionning to a prism, but is faster to take the measure and store it. So, I think that the TS30/TM30 will be faster than the S6.
Nice... 4 years after the TRIMBLE S6... Leica start to be inspired by the best builder : TRIMBLE.
So what about the life of piezomotorization (around 2000 hours of life), what about the speed when tracking a mooving prism... could you give us more video like working a the street with a lot of glasses & cars...
What about the argument of Leica sellers who where used to says : "No need to be as speed of the S6"
As usual Leica copying... Good luck with your news electronics parts supplier!
This new toy is a little more accurate than the TCA2003 and faaaaster than Trimble S6 because of new motorization!!! Swiss made... I want to work with it!!!
That is not true. The Trimble S6 is still the fastest, have a look on the Trimble S6 video here in youtube. The trimble S6 is impressive!!. However, I dont see any benefit being such fast...
Besides the faster speed of the TS30, both TPS1200 & TS30 only use power when motors turn, unlike the S6/S8 whose battery will run flat after a few hours without moving or taking a measurement
The S6 technology (and I guess its the same in the S8, but I dont have one) which keeps the motors in place is actually VERY useful in the field. Why? It enables the instrument to always stay (or come back) on a point. So if you "tap" the instrument by mistake (or tap on the key board of the controller on the station - I use a TSC2, so I dont have this issue), it guarrantees you are always measuring the same point. This is impressive and has been quality insurance for us.
I think all Leicas has built in spy cameras that sends info to Russia constantly!
