It's not hypnosis like you fall asleep or anything, it's just a state they put you in so that you will get more open to suggestion than you normally would. Anyways, hypnosis in general is'nt what most people think it is.

Quite specific" He knows her clock is running and if he can take a little time before the reveal the hand will be closer to 17. If she had said 15 it would have been "Great, look, 15"
when he says imagine the clock face with the numbers going 1...3 4 5 he doesnt say 2 the person immediatly thinks about the 2 and he chooses that time for the woman he uses his hands if u look closly his hands were pointing at the 12 when he told her to pick the hour and at the 16 or 17 for the minuts (it doesnt make a difference on a clock face since he can put in the middle and choose either one )

Derren Brown is great. I love how he presents his mistakes, and doesn't just edit them out of his shows like other mentalists. I also love that he doesn't try to fool people by saying that he has "supernatural" powers. The guy is honest, and that makes him an even better performer.

When he asks about the minute hand you can see the sweeping motion going from the left to the right side of the clock (where 15 minutes would be).
No idea how she guessed the 17 minutes, but i might say there was something in the last gesture going slightly downward?
Havent been able to find anything in his words though.
