Why did Obama and Biden and Mccain vote to allow Bush to wage an illegal war? They broke several Internation Laws when they invaded Iraq, and they know it! What is their problem? Dont they have the guts to impeach Bush?
A $408 Billion with a "B" deficit, millions of cut jobs, millions of jobs sent overseas, from $1/gal gas to $4/gal gas, all of this from 8 years of Republicans. Do you want this to get worse? Dont vote Republican! Ever!

MCCAIN: "Thank you Rudy and 9/11 my friends . . . 9/11, gates of hell, Thank you. 100 years of 9/11 my friends".
Biden was THE best candidate...BY FAR. Too bad the media was pushing nothing but Clinton, Obama, and Edwards. If Joe would have had the same amount of publicity, I think he could have easily won some states. Maybe the Democratic "survivor" will choose Biden to run as Vice-President. It would be a start...
Biden was a good candidate on international affairs, but he was really awkward. He has that weird "uncley" feel about him that didn't seem to translate to the youf. I think the Obama being "clean" comment was an early accidental nail in his campaign's coffin.
Don't count on it. The republican ticket is looking better all the time. You democrats are so arrogant that you think any democrat can win, Obama or Clinton will not even bring in all the Dem's votes let alone any crossover votes...and to win you need that.
correction: he was rejected by the media, but because 75% of America based their votes on what they here on the media...... well I think even you can figure it out
Google "Biden Edwards brokered convention" to learn how Joe might end up being the nominee after all. Then let's figure out what we have to do to make that happen.
Does anybody out there know how to set up a web site to recruit Biden back. We'll get enough signatures he can't walk away. Need to work fast - before the next debate. Biden will run the table.
We need to draft Biden back. New Hampshire proved America is finally waking up to experience. Instead of voting on Obama's hope we need to vote on Biden's call to action. If you twenty somethings are serious about getting your friends out of this war, ending global warming, restoring the economy, get on board the Biden Bandwagon. It's about action not hope!
Well said CYA72! Action and not hope is exactly what we need! And Joe has the experience and track record to get the job done, unlike most of the other candidates. But I think the way this race is going, it's become one big SOAP OPERA! The press is having a field day with it, and it's really beginning to make me SICK!!!
This is ridiculous. I was going to vote for the first time and I was hoping it was for Biden. The media gave TOO MUCH coverage to Obama and Clinton. so unfair.
It saddens me that the media is so biased in their coverage of the candidates. Joe was really short-changed, no doubt about that. In my opinion, he was the one candidate that truly understands how to fix the mess the current administration has left us in. I've been around and around with the other candidates still remaining in the race, but I keep coming back to Joe.
"If there's no candidate you like in a primary, you can write one in. A relatively very small amount of organizing can even lead to a victory for that candidate. (Or some signature gathering could place your candidate's name on the ballot.)"
We can still vote for Sen. Biden. You can write in his name on the ballot. Spread the word people. Don't let the media cast your vote, make your vote count. Sen. Biden is our only HOPE and CHANGE that these other candidates are sloganizing about.
Whether we like it or not, this election is proving not to be about experience, but about change. At this moment Obama embodies the word change.
I dropped everything and raced out to Iowa to support Biden. The question is what can we all do now? I'd suggest that everyone send handwritten letters to the Obama campaign encouraging him to nominate Biden as his VP. Change might be the word of the day, but when tomorrow begins, you need experience to make that change happen.
We've lost two great candidates in Biden and Dodd. I only wish they hadn't given up so easily. They would have done much better in New Hampshire. It seems to be a lost cause, but if enough people flood Biden with e-mails, maybe he'll reconsider.
The problem in Iowa in a nutshell:
"Don't sell yourself out by voting for power. Vote for substance and maybe you'll get substance." - Mike Gravel
Both Senators will be missed on the campaign trail, but thankfully they can return to the Senate and continue to be forceful advocates for a more enlightened American foreign policy.
My new campaign is the media and how hey run this campaign like a rock star against a former first lady. Disgusting. To have them pretty much pick our president for us is reprehensible. I do like what Jim Lehrer said, or someone on his panel said, "20 years from now the Democrat's
"Go back to bed America, your government has figured out how it all transpired. Go back to bed America, your government is in control. Here, here's American Gladiators. Watch this, shut up."
It was such an honor and a privilege to have contributed to and worked on this campaign. I always enjoyed meeting and hearing the Senator talk, and I had a blast working with the fine young men and women on staff in Iowa. See y'all on down the trail.
i have no regrets either senator . once in my lifetime i have been allowed to know and see a man who stands for the truth , has the heart of a poet , and the spirit of a free man . someone who will continue to fight for the rights, freedom, and liberties of the human race . ..... once in a lifetime ..... whaat more can one ask .may peace , love and light be with you , and all of those whom share of beliefs.
listen guys i do think how most of you that he is the most qualified man for hard times but he cannot stand multi millions hillary/obama propaganda machine plus the fact most of black America goes for Obama most of female goes for Hillary to be honest i wish am wrong i wish he could make it but as we all know is not just about wishes specially when the conservatives do not wish to face him and above all it's EVEN HARDER for catholic to win even if he's the best for ALL America at this times
Biden was the first candidate I ever contributed money to and I've been voting since the Carter era. Biden is truly inspirational and with his straight forward talk and his intelligent take on all issues, he would of been a great President.
The 2 classic Democrats, Biden and Dodd, either which have been great at President, didn't make it. Things still must not be bad enough for people to wake up yet. Wait 'til 4 years from now. It won't be good, will it be too late then though??
Iowa is not the pulse, we were waiting for you here in Cali Joe, learned alot about you, and much respect for you, Thank You for your service to our country and continue the fight, We Got your Back Joe.,
Gave up too easily, Joe your the best and would have been the best Pres. out of all the idiots whe have a choice over now. Obama is too wet behind the ears, the the position.
We've lost two great candidates in Biden and Dodd. I only wish they hadn't given up so easily. They would have done much better in New Hampshire. It seems to be a lost cause, but if enough people flood Biden with e-mails, maybe he'll reconsider.

I Hope who ever gets nominated will at least ask Joe Biden to be his or her V.P. He would then show the country hes the right man for the preidency. To know him is to love him. love ya Joe
Susan, don't lump all Iowans together. I caucused for Joe last night along with a modest bunch of people who "got it". Signed, one of many Iowans for Biden.
I know, and my thanks to the Iowans who held out. My family is actually from Iowa originally. But, the whole caucus process was flawed. They weren't ready for the turnout and there was too much confusion to sway someone and gain viability. Plus, Obama pulled some dirty tricks with bus loads of uninformed HS students.
Biden was the only thing keeping me interested in this race. As of now, I have no plans on voting in 2008 and could care less who "inherits" the presidency. Besides, I just moved to Hawaii so it's time to put down my copy of The Economist and learn how to surf. Let's hope Joe doesn't give up on the country as easily as I have. Thanks Joe!
I really used to believe in what the media said about Iowa that they don't listin to what the media says when it comes to picking a president I guess I was wrong.
It is so sad that this country can't get a real leader because the damn system requires you have at least $15 Million to even get noticed and that $15 Million is per quarter. I really believed Iowans were smarter then that (Except for the few of you who stuck to your comitment to Joe. This next comment is not for you guys.)I guess Iowans are just stupid Corn Farmers like I use to think.
Who wouldn't be proud to have supported this gentleman/scholar? Is there a place for Joe in the new Democratic administration? We also need him in the Senate. This isn't the last of Joe Biden. He's a keeper!!!!
Senator Biden -- THANK YOU for all that you have and will continue to do for America.
You were consistently the best debater and have the best voting record but the presidency has become much like American Idol -- as much about popularity as talent.
The media predetermined the "front-runners" before the race began. Everyone else never had a level playing field. America's problems cannot be summed up in 30 second sound bites and you never tried to pretend that they could.
The caucus process does suck! It's neat to meet with neighbors and I was proud of how everyone listened but Joe would have done much better if he didn't need 15 percent at each site. But we had it in ours! Joes speech was excellent and showed what a class act he is. I love you Joe! All the Riley's do!!!!!
Joe you were viable in our precinct- Cedar Rapids 41. We needed 78 people and walked in with only 40. People respected Biden and were willing to realign with us. Biden was viable on the first ballot- only 5 votes behind Clinton and 5 ahead of Edwards, I was so happy until I left when it was over and I heard our the state wide results.
Whatever confidence I had left in the electorate has been blown away. 1 percent!!
It doesn't even matter that Biden could (and did) destroy the front runners in debate. Just plaster "change" on all your posters, or engage in smarmy pseudo-marxist ramblings...and you're a cinch for 1st or second.
Joe, You're the best and we'll continue to support you!!! Thanks for always telling it like it is and thanks for making a difference for the American people!! Joe Biden = True American

So sorry to hear Joe Biden dropped out last night. Just kidding. He should have dropped out last summer. It's too bad he had to con all those people into sending him money only to come out a LOSER!!!!! I'll see you in Michigan Joe! I won't forget!
what pissssed me off even more than anything,is that he only go 1 percent of the Vote. Can you believe that. Was any one in Iowa paying attention at all. I know the media spun this election, but didn't the people in Iowa listen to the debate or listen to any of Joe's speech (via youtube). 1 percent, that is amazing!
I've been working for Democratic presidential candidates since Jimmy Carter in 1976, and your campaign was the first in which I felt fervent and unqualified enthusiasm and trust in your being our president
So, here are my hopes for Joe Biden: That you keep us secure by being in any one of these three powerful positions: Joe Biden, Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Joe Biden, Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee
Hey Flashpoint.I'm another Iowan that can be counted out of the blame, and like you I as well as the other Biden supporters there did not jump on board with any other candidate.Joe's the only one we believe in.He's the only answer for the dark pit this country is being sucked into due to the current administration.
Rock on Robyn. I can't believe more Iowans couldn't see this man is perfect for the role of president. Joe had me at hello so to speak. The very first time I seen him appear on a show I was taken a back by this politician that didn't sound like a politician. He was straight forward and direct and when he was finished speaking I didn't scratch my head wondering if he had actually answer the question. No BS, intelligence & experience. What more do you need?
Our chair told us not to go to Richardson, his numbers were to close to Joe's. That way if somehow it was close in the lower ranks we'd still have a shot later on. I went to caucus specifically support Biden because he's who I decided on. I'm undecided on the other three, that why I didn't jump ship.
ah, understandable. i guess i was thinking that historically the VP didn't have as much power/influence as sec of state...but with the current administration that has obviously changed/proved to be wrong. i agree that he is a sure win in the general, i just didn't ever put him in the VP category. thanks for the responses. i'll back him where ever he ends up!
hey sarahparks3, even though joe said that he would not be VP, he has to be or else anyone on the Democratic who is nominated will not win. Why, because of the war. Joe can play a role like Dick did for the inexperienced Bush. The Vice Presidency is just as important a role as President. If they are smart, they have to get Joe to be VP. Joe knows this, he will change his mind if asked.
ah, understandable. i guess i was thinking that historically the VP didn't have as much power/influence as sec of state...but with the current administration that has obviously changed/proved to be wrong. i agree that he is a sure win in the general, i just didn't ever put him in the VP category. thanks for the responses. i'll back him where ever he ends up!
Well I really would be shocked if Joe was not either the running mate or, yes a very high appointment like Sec. of State. It makes more sense in the election to beg him as a running mate. Think about how all of the Dem candidtes kept clamoring to agree with him: "Joe is right..." "I agree with Joe..." etc. Etc. Hillary is on record with something like 15-20 of those statments. Does anyone really think he won't be asked?
class act! i was sad that biden wasn't given the chance, but my hope is whoever is elected will choose him as secretary of state and LISTEN and LEARN from this intelligent, brave and ethical man. let's hope that whoever is elected in the primaries can pull through...
You can count this Iowan out of that blame, I was there at the caucus supporting Joe and when we didn't have the numbers I didn't align myself with any other candidate. My hope now that he's out of the race is one of the candidates from the "Joe's Right" crowd who ends up on top makes Biden their VP.
Joe Biden will go down as one of the best candidates never to become President. If the democrats lose the election in November, they have only themselves to blame for not nominating Joe Biden.
I've never understood my friends who were apathetic about politics or who didn't bother to vote. Last night, when I learned that Biden had dropped out, I finally understood. No one left running will make half the president Biden would have.
I still support you 100% Joe!!! Thank you for your honesty, integrity, your clarity and your conviction.I know you said it is not a sad time but for me it truly is.I know in my heart that you are the right man to lead this country.I only wish people paid more attention
I went to caucus last night for the first time ever because I truly believe Joe would make the best president out of the whole bunch. I think if he had rockstar status like the top three he'd be more of a factor. I IM'd a friend last night about the whole ordeal and she thought he was republican. Just not enough people in the know. Good luck Joe.
wow mightylinus, both comments are superb. especially the harsh analysis of the iowans..."realigning away their true votes".
it's obviously a stupid system. it looks as if the republicans had followed it, only huckabee and romney would have survived (thompson, mccain, paul and guiliani all were less than 15%). i think the gop has a much clearer picture of its candidates' standings than the dems do.
thanks elm. and you're absolutely right about this system being broken:
(from NYT)
"The results in the Democratic caucuses do not reflect the actual percentage of people who expressed a preference for a particular candidate. Rather, they are the percentage of delegates allocated to each of the candidates based on a complex formula; the Democratic Party does not release the actual number of Democrats who caucus for each candidate."
"The Republican results reflect a direct count of the preferences expressed by those who participated in the Republican caucuses."
There was plenty of support for Joe, but we didn't see it because of the ridiculous precinct 'viability' system. Every time Biden supporters accounted for less than 15% of people in the room their votes were reassigned or thrown away. As you say this system wipes out the second tier and makes the big three look more popular than they are.

Google "Biden Edwards brokered convention" to learn how Joe might end up being the nominee after all. Then let's figure out what we have to do to make that happen.
deb02888 4 years ago
What makes that so special, you think there wasn't in Iowa? Guess Obama wasn't close enough to bus the students back to take the lead.
CYA72 4 years ago
Does anybody out there know how to set up a web site to recruit Biden back. We'll get enough signatures he can't walk away. Need to work fast - before the next debate. Biden will run the table.
CYA72 4 years ago 2
We need to draft Biden back. New Hampshire proved America is finally waking up to experience. Instead of voting on Obama's hope we need to vote on Biden's call to action. If you twenty somethings are serious about getting your friends out of this war, ending global warming, restoring the economy, get on board the Biden Bandwagon. It's about action not hope!
CYA72 4 years ago 3
Well said CYA72! Action and not hope is exactly what we need! And Joe has the experience and track record to get the job done, unlike most of the other candidates. But I think the way this race is going, it's become one big SOAP OPERA! The press is having a field day with it, and it's really beginning to make me SICK!!!
JayKol914 4 years ago 2

It saddens me that the media is so biased in their coverage of the candidates. Joe was really short-changed, no doubt about that. In my opinion, he was the one candidate that truly understands how to fix the mess the current administration has left us in. I've been around and around with the other candidates still remaining in the race, but I keep coming back to Joe.
Joe, please come back! We miss you!!

Sen. Biden is our only HOPE and CHANGE that these other candidates are sloganizing about.
kenshi1023 4 years ago 3
Whether we like it or not, this election is proving not to be about experience, but about change. At this moment Obama embodies the word change.
I dropped everything and raced out to Iowa to support Biden. The question is what can we all do now? I'd suggest that everyone send handwritten letters to the Obama campaign encouraging him to nominate Biden as his VP. Change might be the word of the day, but when tomorrow begins, you need experience to make that change happen.
HobieJ 4 years ago
i agree, HobieJ. If Joe is not VP, I don't know if Barack can win. What is scary is that McCain might be the Republican nominee.

I know, and my thanks to the Iowans who held out. My family is actually from Iowa originally. But, the whole caucus process was flawed.
America's problems cannot be summed up in 30 second sound bites and you never tried to pretend that they could.

hey sarahparks3, even though joe said that he would not be VP, he has to be or else anyone on the Democratic who is nominated will not win. Why, because of the war. Joe can play a role like Dick did for the inexperienced Bush. The Vice Presidency is just as important a role as President. If they are smart, they have to get Joe to be VP. Joe knows this, he will change his mind if asked.

wow mightylinus, both comments are superb. especially the harsh analysis of the iowans..."realigning away their true votes".
it's obviously a stupid system. it looks as if the republicans had followed it, only huckabee and romney would have survived (thompson, mccain, paul and guiliani all were less than 15%). i think the gop has a much clearer picture of its candidates' standings than the dems do.
grr.
elm31215 4 years ago 2
thanks elm. and you're absolutely right about this system being broken:
(from NYT)
"The results in the Democratic caucuses do not reflect the actual percentage of people who expressed a preference for a particular candidate. Rather, they are the percentage of delegates allocated to each of the candidates based on a complex formula; the Democratic Party does not release the actual number of Democrats who caucus for each candidate."
mightylinus 4 years ago 2
cont.
As you say this system wipes out the second tier and makes the big three look more popular than they are.
mightylinus 4 years ago 2
