I saw this when I was 10! Thanks for putting this up. I recently found the book of the true story. This movie isn't accurate and it was good to find the book. But I still have great memories of the movie.
Sweet film ... such a sad but lovely story. I learned about him last year in P7, and after watching this film I almost cried ... RIP Greyfriars Bobby. :'(
loved this film as far back as i can remember, i tried watching that yank movie Hachiko but was bored stiff. maybe its just richard gere. he is very dry, boring and a bit of a wooden-top actor. this is my favourite doggy movie and has always stayed with me. thx for upload helen.
the story was somewhat the same with the movie hachiko: a dog's story...i really cried a lot..and the fact that i don't even notice the tears falling in my eyes makes me realize that if i were on that moment seeing those dogs...i would just love to stay with them just to make sure they're ok..... how i wish i have a dog like them...anyways thanks for uploading this video...god bless you!!!
Thank the wee dog for giving us so much more than we realize we are worth. Thank that wee life for showing us that we might be greater than we are. Thank thee Bobby for teaching us that love is unconditional. I have been to Greyfriars and given the Lord's respect to his cache.
What a sweet story. Yes, pass the tissues. I was six in '61 and have always treasured the memory of this wonderful tale. Thank you so much for uploading this.
This is the first time I have seen this wonderful film. It made me cry. I have added this to my favourites so I can watch it again and again. Thanks for posting this lovely film.
@kerri494 your welcome i think after seeing the film it stays with you always, at least it did with me though i was 12 when i first saw it with my classmates and i was trying hard not to cry, so got the biggest lump in my throat ever, lucky it was dark in the room cus i did cry and still do to this day when i watch it.
I cannot watch this film without crying at the end. One of the most Poignant love stories ever made into a Motion Picture , and it's about a Dog . This is a True Classic and irreplaceable no matter How many Seqals are made
Well I was 7 years old when this film came out and my mother had to take me out of the cinema because I cried so hard. And then I was sad for about 6 months after thinking about that dog just waiting and waiting.
OK it's 50 years later but I can do it, I'm adult now.....oh no....old Jock is coughing...oh he's not well...oh it's all going to end in tears....that poor dog...poor Bobby....Waaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!
@acechadwick ha i know what you mean, iv seen the film lot of times yet i cry at the beginning the titles comin up on the screen wie the musi and auld jock on the hill wie Bobby.
@Nicky131Popstar yes i thought she sounded bit Glaswegian, as i know people from Edinburgh talk in between they do say a lot of the same words as us up here in North East of Scotland for some strange reason never could fathom that one out.
@Nicky131Popstar i did listen it does sound like she maby English trying to put on a Scottish accent, though not sure as all other actors are Scottish.
your welcome i know i cry every time i watch it, you should have seen me trying to make the movies into 9 part i had to watch certain bits and i was howling,
im glad to see you watched the whole film as you realy need to do that rather than just look at couple episodes plus get to see edinburgh castle at the end,ha but i see you needed yer hankies as i usualy do watching Bobby, aww yer eyes will be all red noo x x
oh gosh, flooded the place several times over! it was lovely. and hasn't gordon jackson been at it a long time! he was a veteran of british film when he made this and this is older than me!
yes i love gordon jackson as a actor great Scottish actor he is, thats what i like about this film all Scottish actors as nothing worse than others trying to put on a scottish accent they usualy get it totaly wrong, just like the janitor in the simpsons the words are all wrong. ha but never mind

Bobby's headstone reads "Greyfriars Bobby - died 14th January 1872 - aged 16 years - Let his loyalty and devotion be a lesson to us all".

I enjoyed this at the age of 6 at the glorious Yuma Theater 1961.
Edinburgh Scotland learned that "Bobby" belonged to no one..yet he
belonged to "Every one!"( all I learned about being good was from my parents and Disney)
