It was wonderful to see the glamour of the palace. On Jan 30th this year my niece's daughter Nikhat was married at 'FALAKNUMA PALACE'. I was unable to attend it all the way from USA. But seeing this video gave me plenty to imagine the to live in that event. The palace really reaches the FALAK'!!!
The last princess[Intesar if my memory serves] of Hyderabad, happens to be the grand daughter of last Ottoman Sultan of Turkey, she put in a lot of effort and massive funds to restore and decorate the Palace some years ago.
Falaknuma Palace holds a special place in my heart. I grew up in Hyderabad and saw the palace in the early 1990's for the first time, when all the old furniture and priceless heirlooms were crammed inside it. Then almost two decades later me and my wife became the first couple to have ever gotten married at the palace (in 2010). And then last year in 2011, we went back to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. It is a very wonderful place.
Excellent video. Falaknuma Palace is one of the several palaces in Hyderabad, most impressive/elegant. Hyderabad has more Palaces than any other state in India. All the Nizam's contributions to Hyderabad are now bringing in revenue for AP Gov. Just the Salar Jung Museum, and Chow Mahla plalaces are bringing in Crores of Rupees. Those who believe that the Nizams collected Lagan from Non-Muslims are not only ignorant but naaive.Nizam's Prime Minister and many high ranking officials were Hindus.
