@MrBrownhornet1974 It's what the railroad calls "Quiet Zones". They are basically a set number of crossings in which a town/city can pay the railroad to not have crews blow their horns. Usually there is a requirement for better crossing guards than crossings that engineers would normally do their horn sequence for.
Noise complaints and other issues bring up the reason as to why quiet zones exist. It's dumb in my opinion.

Thanks Mike. Sadly, due to clearance issues, etc. I could only catch it coming into Chicago and not going out again like it originally was going to do after staying overnight. I'll see what I can do on it's return trip..that's if I can get back up to the Chicago area.
