Saving your hair! Damage Control from Sew Ins!

my hair grows but then i get a perm it still growing but every time i grease my hair and straighten it it fallss out wat is the problem

How often do you shampoo with a sew in? And how often do you oil your scalp? I have my first sew in now with a net. It's difficult oiling my hair with a net. I put oil in a bottle with a nozzle and squeeze as much as I can on my scalp but still wonder if it's in there good. Can't tell.

@cbcook2010 once a week i shampoo and condition. i oil my scalp about once every two weeks, and coconut oil treatments on my weave plus natural hair once a month. yeah i have the nozzle top too. it can be quite difficult with the net.

thanks so much i experianced like so much shedding and it was because i never greased my scalp, i didnt use a wide tooth comb, and i combed out my hair while i was shampooing with a rat tail comb, omg lol

GREAT VIDEOOO !!!!!!!!! because i was wondering what to do as far as taking care of my hair under my weave . so uu juss helped me out a lot girl :) also , do uu feel likee gettin a full weave , likee all uur hair being braided up is best when trying to grow baack some broken off leave out ? because i had a weave a while ago & thaat constant heat on my hair everyday really damaged one part of my hair , so im thinking bout from now on juss gettin invisible parts to grow it back . is that good ?

@aniyalorren I too have dealt W that same issue (it is my bang area, i put a little TOO much heat on it) and I am still going to get a regular sew in just be a lot more cautious this time..I dont like full sew in's UNLESS the person who is going to install it on me can make my front look VERY NATURAL, if they could id be ALL for it =)

Im in LR too! Where is Kim located?? I do my own sew ins but they only last about 6 weeks. My hair grows amazingly with constant sew ins but I hate doing them so often...

How did your leave out lenght compare to your sew in lenght, that is what i struggle with, heat damage....

@nikkyboo79 my leave out is growing back ...i had a bad exp with some hair glue! it hasn't caught up with the sewed in length but it is getting a little thicker..it used to be thin!

I do a protein treatment before I put in a sew in, followed by a deep contioner. I cringe when I hear my hair "crackle" ( break off) while shes braiding. It doesn't do it if I do a protein treatment

@cholefreed yes that olive oil product i used made all the shedding STOP like instantly! :) And finally its soft again! LOL
