heartbeat sensor was broken for a few weeks. they just fixed it with this latest patch release.

all u need to do is arm it, press and hodl ur fire button, and face in the direction u want to scan. enemies within range will show up on ur mini map at the top right. but be careful cause ur heartbeat sensor only has a short battery life and has to recharge constantly.
