  • i'm looking at the 8 people in the ring at ROH but can't remember this match anybody know what the match is or who in it would be a massive help ?

  • @69turtlelover I think I can help.

1st match, Kenta Kobashi vs Samoa Joe. Match of the Year 2005

2nd match, Ryo Saito/Genki Horiguchi/Dragon Kid (Do Fixer) vs Masato Yoshino/Naruki Doi/CIMA (Blood Generation). Match of the Year 2006

I can even help you watch the matches if you want.

  • misawa vs kobashi = ultimate five star match

  • beautiful video.....

  • Well, now it finally happened again: Meltzer awarded Punk vs Cena full points. Now I just HAVE to see that match.

  • @Wurzelknecht I hope you enjoy it. I honestly do. In this video, I see these incredible wrestlers risk their bodies, their careers, even their lives, to give wrestling fans what they want to see. Then I look at people like Hogan, Mcmahon, Bischoff, Russo, Carter, people who claim to own and control all of the sport, and then make an absolute mockery of it.

Corruption has truly infected professional wrestling. The most well-known and credited pro wrestling company is not NOAH, but WWE.

  • @Wurzelknecht Seven months so you've probably already seen it, but yeah it definitely deserved it. The fans were more alive then they've been for years, the story leading up to the match was brilliant, and the match itself was fantastic (Maybe not on the same level as a lot of other Five Star matches, but still deserving). The fact that John Cena actually put in a lot of effort to make the match feel special (Something he almost never does) puts it over the top.

  • @BloodPump yeah I've seen it. And while I personally wouldn't have given it 5 stars (more like 4 and a half at most) it was a great match. The story and crowd were awesome and Punk dragged the best Match possible out of Cena. Also it's always a great match seeing John Cena getting pinned cleanly. Wether you agree with Meltzer's ratings or not at least you'll get to see interesting matches most of the time when you look at his 5-star-ratings.

  • eddie edwards vs davey richards 2011. if that match isnt 5 stars meltzer is an idiot. it was awe-inspiring.

  • Amazing

  • Kenta Kobashi vs Mitsuhara Misawa. If those two names going head to head don't get you hype then you don't know what wrestling is.

  • aaah my favourite song again!

  • Did he invent the Japanesse stiff style? Or did he just master it?

  • nice video

  • Seriously the best video ever. Give this guy an award.

  • I'm sorry, but nothing can compare to what wrestling was in the 1990s for AJPW! They had Akiyama, Misawa, Kobashi, Kawada, Taue, Dr. Death, Hansen and Vader (in the late 90s) all in there primes.

I will say however, there NEEDS to be more 5 star matches. Kenta/Nakajima (March 09') was 5, so was HBK/Taker (WM25) and Black/Richards. Meltzer needs to stop being so strict on his ratings.

Greatest match i've ever seen is still however Jun Akiyama vs. Kobashi July 2004.

  • misawa = puroresu god

  • Amazing video.

  • awesome, but it should include more joshi puroresu.

  • does anybody know the name of this song?

  • EPIC video. R. I. P. Mitsuharu Misawa. Ur elbows are a thing of beauty.

  • killer vid

  • Kobashi is the balls......

  • Thanks for the great upload. That run of Misawa elbows makes me want to cry...

  • what theme is this

  • requiem for a dream

  • @deadmanwalking228

Its called "Lux Aeterna" I believe.

  • @deadmanwalking228 requiem for a dream

  • @izaac909

its from the movie reqiem for a dream but the song is called "lux Aeterna"

    look it up.

  • @izaac909

its lux aeterna from the movie requiem for a dream

  • Fantastic video man.

  • awesome video explain why puroresu it's way better than wwe

  • puroresu can never achieve 5 stars like WWE can, because puroresu is TWO MILLION TIMES GREATER THAN THE E!

TWO MILLION STARS to these puroresu matches!

  • Great video!!

  • Good stuff would have liked to have seen some more of the women though as I know copyright can keep some clips from going up.

  • Im surprised he got ROH footage up.

  • Mitsuharu Misawa

    June 18, 1962 - June 13, 2009

    R.I.P

One of the greatest wrestlers to grace a ring.

    Misawa forever.

  • Hell yeah man. Fighting Spirit for ever.

  • What's the name of this song?

  • great vid

shows how hard a wrestler really has to work to earn a five star rating

  • dude your videos rule

  • does anyone know if thy posted joe vs kobashi roh match on youtube

  • you may be able to find this at your local video outlet. Their compilation videos recently released and the one with kenta and joe is called Best in the world. hope i could help

  • Yep Ths User Called SpartanLaxxx(Ibelieve Thats How U Spell His Name) Posted it On Utube

  • Incredible Puroresu vid!!!

Great choice with the music-What is the name of the song?

  • the music is the theme from reqiuem for a dream, it's easy to find on limewire or a similar program.

  • that was a great movie. i find this music and previews for movies and theyre beginning to use it for alot of really epic shit

  • This particular mix is also called Requiem for a Tower, I think. The only real difference is the mix of the drums.

  • Those backdrops are too dangerous, that is why Japanese wrestlers go on "tours" and don't wrestle year round 4-5 days a week like American wrestlers.

Don't get me wrong, I love puro, but those guys, with their style could never...ever...survive an American schedule. They are just too dangerous to do that stuff day in, day out.

Side note: You know who is awesome now? Masato Tanaka. Unlike most wrestlers, he gets better as he gets older. His Wrestle Kingdom match with Nagata stole the show, IMO.

  • How can anyone not respect and love Kobashi and Misawa is beyond me. True legends. Awesome vid, even though I hate snowflakes, five star ratings, and all that stuff. Joebashi for best match ever!

  • those backdrops look too dangerous

  • That was the most awesome I've ever seen condensed into one four minute clip.

  • that. was. awesome.

    kudos.

  • Wow, that video is awesome!!

  • nice vid, man

  • Kenta Kobashi vs. Toshiaki Kawada many 5 star matches probably the best stuff all time.

  • What about Flair/Steamboat or Funk? That is 4 matches alone.

  • Joe has been in a couple 5 star matches (2 that i know of). Joe vs Punk II, and Joe vs Styles vs Daniels. And he was amazing in both. So Joe is not a fag.

  • joe vs cm punk 2

joe vs danials vs aj styles

    joe vs kobashi

    all five stars.

    nuff sed.

  • even if he were gay that would not make him any less of a wrestler, he's Joe for Christ sake!

  • Very true.

  • seriously this is a great vid but yeah i would hae liked to see more clips from other 5 star matches

dont get me wrong though this was great

  • whats the song

  • its called lux aeterna

  • thanks, it's epic

  • Requiem for a dream

  • epic...........

  • wow you were reeeeallly on misawa's nuts in that video

  • Ug, that tna three way was NOT 5 stars

  • genial el video

  • Damn that was a intense 4 minute, that goes to my favorites.

  • WOW!

  • Holy shit at the almost 30 seconds of just really stiff elbows.

  • I was so blown away by the Joe vs. Kobashi match. Definitely one of the best I have ever seen. Japanese wrestling is amazing but I wish more American matches could get 5 stars.

  • great video.nice work

  • Even though I agree with all the matches that are in there, they are more 5 star matches outside on the Four Lords of Heaven in Pre-Split All-Japan. I was really happy to see the Aja Kong match on there, but why was there only like 3 clips of it, but you show 102 head bumps? Misawa, Kawada, Kobashi and Tou all belong on this video, but they don't need to take up the whole damn thing.

  • I just saw the Do Fixer vs Blood Gen match. Holy Fuck it was good.

  • Where can I see this?

  • ROH

  • i want to see the samoa joe vs kenta k match.

  • A wise youtube user once told me this when I was critical of his video: if you don't like what you see, make your own video.

Other than that, damn fine work!

  • between kawada, kobashi, and misawa is a combined total of over 50 5 star matches. but most of them were against each other. hopefully they all can pull off more 5 star matches before they retire.

  • Where is John Cena and Randy Orton lol. Great video. How about some Flair/Steamboat or Flair/Funk?

  • Dude Kawada VS Misawa When The Ganzo Bomb was Done Was a Awesome Match

  • Excellent video. Well done.

  • goddamn this video is amazing...

  • couldn't find any Joe vs Punk footage?

  • what an epic video - just like the matches.

  • What does this tell you when Kenta Kobashi is plastered all over this video :)

  • To me it says that the Misawa/Kobashi singles feud is a little over-represented in comparison to many other great sources of five-star matches (most notably, the Misawa & Kobashi/Kawada & Taue tag matches and Flair/Steamboat aren't clipped at all). It's a technically fine video and all, but if you're going to dedicate a video to "five-star matches"...a little more variety, some Taue, some Flair, some Shawn Michaels would be nice.

  • True that. However it looks to me the focus of the video is Japan puro. And personally i think KObashi holds the record of 5* matches he has participated in. Otherwise i agree with ya! Maybe there will be a PT 2 with a Flair and HBK match!

  • Kobashi can make a match against a bucket of water sound interesting

  • OMG! THIS FUCKIN ROCKS!

  • more matches need to be given 5 stars which don't include misawa and kobashi

  • k thanks dude

  • hey what song is this

  • its requiem for a dream by the kronos quartet

  • anyone know where i can find the Kenta Kobashi vs. Samoa Joe match? message me

  • Buy the dvd on ROH's website, the dvd's title is Joe vs. Kobashi.

  • best video EVER!!!!

  • fucking. Great. Video.

  • Kobashi/Misawa 1993 wasn't 5 stars, was it?

  • No, but it was considered very close. Meltzer almost did give it five stars.

  • pretty decent amount of moves with awesome written on them. Though the question is why put a little of some of the matches? Ah wells, good vid.
