@Tohellwithoursouls I don't think its that dumb a question. The only buttons I can see missing are the "my shows" button (which can also be accessed from the main menu) and the "text" button (which does nothing at all).
And if its such a dumb question then can you tell me with 100% certainty that it wouldn't work? Have you tried it yourself? If not then please fuck off.
@tomosoniq Really? I know they changed the text input option to allow text message style input with the numerical keypad, but I thought the USB ports were still disabled?
@dmh79 Nope the USB ports were activated during the update to allow for streaming between boxes (Date TBC), fella in my work tried it with his own PC wireless keyboard and he said it worked a treat. Another guy I know has seen a demo down in London with the 'Slide Remote' which apprently works with the US version. I'm getting one from the U.S. on Friday to confirm so I'll let you know.
@tomosoniq Brilliant! Such a shame they ruined the Youtube app with the update though. The old version is still under "all apps" but the new version that will replace it is available now under "my shows".
They've taken away the ability to log in and view subscriptions!!! Essentially making it useless for me. ಠ_ಠ
Obviously I've already voiced my displeasure on the Virgin TiVo forum.
@thepod96 Its a shame because the TiVo branded Youtube app was OK (apart from not displaying ALL my subscriptions) but the new one is utterly pointless without the option to view any subscriptions. I only ever really use Youtube for viewing my subs so the new one is just useless.
I honestly thought they were going to fix the app with the 15.2 update, but they've really just made it a lot worse.
@dmh79 Got the Slide today and it works brilliantly. A couple of niggles however. The coloured buttons are not the same colours as UK's. So the yellow button is your new red button. Other than that the things is so much more responsive. Just set the volume controls which work a treat as well. The stop button is the slow motion button. and the Input button is for selecting subtitles. Other than that it's a fine piece of kit.
@maddoxjake i just got the tivo premire and got the app and it works but when u try to use the keyboard feature and turn it sideways the tivo wont allow it... at least with my company and all... dunno i wish it worked tho cuz its annoying as hell navigating to the letters/numbers one by one..
finally, i hate the keyboard on the tv screen when im searching for a programme

Will this work with Virgin Media Tivo in the UK?
dmh79 4 months ago
@dmh79 well seeing as it doesn't have most of the Virgin Media control buttons on it I would say that's a dumb question.

@dmh79 That's not Virgin's fault, it's Google's. They've made a platform-wide generic YouTube app.

What other platforms is the app being used on?

If I plan to get the iPad, is the free app a good substitute for buying this remote?
