actually this year's high school graduating class (2009) will be the largest graduating class in history. i think it's supposed to peak and then start to decline.
The demographic trends do not bear out her assertion that more students are applying. The number of high school graduates has dropped and will be dropping over the next few years. Kaplan test prep is guilty of applying scare tactics here.
i dont know the statistics, but just because the # of dropouts increases has no correlation to the # of graduates. It's all relative to the total # of high school students in the pool that exist today.
