@bikelady33 You need to remove this video. The 1.5 is totally different now, and you could mislead someone who is looking for this bike and buying it new. The 1.5 has Tiagra components now, is a 20 speed w/ a 2-ring compact crank, and has a different paint scheme. You aren't doing yourself any advertising help here.
Sora and tiagra components last for 1000's of miles! easy to replace too, As most bike shops all over the world sell shimano components! unless u are an experienced rider, Move up to ultegra or dura ace! But sora and tiagra are still hardcore if your just a wkend warrior or a tidy racer!!
Sorry to say dude! NOT ALL NEW BIKES HAVE A TRIPLE UP FRONT! I just purchased a 2.1 compact double. Please include how the triple front derailleur gets sloppy over time (just like sora componemts).
I rode one today at bike line, it weighs roughly 16-18 lbs,its wicked fast, i am not an awesome athelete and i had it up to 31 mph,in the short ride. I understand he is just demo-ing the bike ,but are you really supposed to shift/still?
hey, do you know why i hear a knocking noise when I climb hills? someone said it was my chain (it was short), but i changed it, and it still makes that noise. any ideas? thanks
It could be that your chain is rubbing against your front derailleur. If not, I bet it's your pedals. Cheap bearings in pedals do make some noise when I sprint or climb.
Most of what he says is factual, however, I needed my wheels trued within a few hundred miles. Which I have found to be a common problem among fellow riders with the same bike.

with the sora shifters, can you shift while on the drops?
xkakashix12 1 year ago
@xkakashix12 no you cant. i own one ...
UsaModOne 1 year ago
hmm..on the trek site, they offer the bike without the sora shifters but with the tiagras
xkakashix12 1 year ago
@xkakashix12 Actually you can, just like with Campagnolo shifters, but you have to stretch out your thumb quite a bit and it's very uncomfortable.
Is it possible? Yes. Is it practical? Not really.

its perfectly fine to, just might stretch your cable if you go from very low to very high or vice versa before spinning the pedals
wiggawannabe 2 years ago
I have the grandfather of your bike. It's probably lighter, too.

Whoa that frame with Sora only? What a waste!
Or am I being tricked by a good paintjob?
What's the weight for the whole thing?
JimexJimex 2 years ago
Haha I bet its from 20-23 pounds.

i'm getting this bike in blue white and black in about 2 weeks

The "3 ring chain ring" is actually cheaper.
For competitive use, they still use double chain ring. With a 10 or 11 speed cogset.
Trust me, I know alot more about bikes then you do.

LOL I'm talking about competitive use. HAHA, don;t take it personally. It's just that the 1.5 carrys cheap Sora components.
