Thanks fo your feedback. I have put the project on hold for a while (6 months) due to work commitments, but intend to pick it up again soon. The underlying state machine needs to be totally re-written to better suite serialisation (for network game state syncro). As for the graphics, my current sub-system that handles rendering is completely seperate from the game logic, so can be re-written dependant on the device doing it. So yes, you could have some amazing modern 3d stuff, if you wrote it :)
Looks very promising! I still play the original Chaos from time to time on my GP2X and PC-based spectrum emulator at home. I have often thought that a multiplayer remake would be great but perhaps a remake that provides multiplayer support over Xbox live?! Now that would be awesome. However, I wonder how many would actually play it? A lot of gamers care so much about graphics I fear they will care little for the game play, especially if they lack any nostalgia for this classic game.
