you make a point about the double standard but you cant take away peoples rights if they want to come to an event with a gun you can take away there rights....
Showing up with a weapon to a political rally is a show of force. The same kind of posturing that the North Koreans do. It sends the wrong message, and I don't think it is representative of American ideals. It was wrong, and it was stupid. Right wrong or indifferent. He is our President. He was voted in by our citizens. So I will respect him, and I will respect the vote of the people. I have no respect for anyone that uses a weapon as a symbol to send a message to our President. Unacceptable.
I live here in zwitzerland and know this giftedkidrules, but here's the deal, get informed before you spam half truths: The Swiss army has long been a militia trained and structured to rapidly respond against foreign aggression. Swiss males grow up expecting to undergo basic military training, usually at age 20 in the Rekrutenschule
(German for "recruit school"), the initial boot camp, after which Swiss men remain part of the "militia" in reserve capacity until age 30 (age 34 for officers). Each such individual is required to keep his army-issued personal weapon (the 5.56x45mm Sig 550 rifle for enlisted personnel and/or the 9mm SIG-Sauer P220 semi-automatic pistol for officers, medical and postal personnel) at home with a specified personal retention quantity of government-issued personal ammunition
(50 rounds 5.56 mm / 48 rounds 9mm), which is sealed and inspected regularly to ensure that no unauthorized use takes place.[4] The ammunition is intended for use while traveling to the army barracks in case of invasion....get it it's sealed and inspected regurlarly....not like you people can parade them in the states...its not freedom to bare arms, its dangerous and asking for accidents to happen....knowledge is king...peace
@sushanalone Its not need. Its want why do people want fast cars. Lets make bmw illegal because there not needed. Same logic with Guns. They need to repeal the illegal machinegun ban.
seeing this..American's whop are that gung ho about guns are nuts.
What is inevitable? someone in a public venue will get shot sooner or later. Can you guarantee that your right to arms in a public setting will not lose control and start shooting? If guns in a public setting are legal then why not on national airlines? What are you afraid of? if you support the right, then you cannot cherry pick when guns should be permitted. Why do you not protest your right to carry guns on a plane? hypocrisy
The idea that bringing a gun to any type of political meeting is alright is just a sign of how stupid people can be. It has nothing to do with the 2nd amendment. After the Giffords incident if you think it's fine to carry a gun by a political figure don't be too surprised if security or the police arrest you. The real idiots r the gun owners who think they have the right to carry a gun in this context.
Why do people think it's alright to go anywhre near the President with a gun? What possible reason would u having for doing this. It's not about gun rights it's about common sense.
they weren't inside the security zone. what are you gonna do? make the perimeter bigger? then you need more people and people with guns could just stand outside the new perimeter with your gun.
its a person with a legal gun outside of security perimeter. theres nothing you can do.
You have the right to be in favor of gun control. The fact remains however that the very rights you have were obtained and defended to this day by firearms.
I don't mind people who open carry their weapons, but I know for sure that republicans will go ape shit about security and all that shit if a democrat shows up carrying a weapon to their events.
The arbitration system we have has much more to do with the murder rate than firearms. If you only criminalize coercive acts and legalize all voluntary acts the crime rate would go down as much as is humanly possible.
Bush had people looked in cages for shirts.... and guns scare the shit out of me. I can't just tell if the gun is loaded or not and I don;t care, it can still be used as a club.
Conservatives babble about how into free speech they are but are okay with arresting people for a t-shirt. Of course, for all their libertarian talk, half of them are latent or blatant fascists. After all, when cons go for government jobs, they go to the police and military where they can vent their brutality & fascist ways legally.
@EsClayWilson Sir, I take extreme offense to your statements. I will not stand to hear you bash any job that without it, my freedom would cease to exist. I'm a firefighter/paramedic that protects and helps lives here at home. I work very close with police and military personnel and have yet to come upon a "con". We protect and serve every day. We cannot legally vent our brutality among citizens, there are very strict guidelines for even pulling someone over.
@EsClayWilson and no one is arrested for wearing a tshirt at bush rallies. They may have been arrested for trespassing or resisting arrest, but it is impossible to be arrested for something that isn't a law. Conservatives are alright with the carrying of a firearm at these events is because it is being done within the law. No laws are being broken so it is against the 2nd amendment to take away the right to do so. Read law before you make outlandish statements that show your lack of knowledge.
@TriaMaxwell Ok, so you you can make synonyms to the word Republican, congrats, it just shows your ignorance. I can't understand your first statement however I would vote Republican and have libertarian tendencies. No one was locked up for the sole fact of wearing a certain T-shirt. I'm not arguing that they were not taken into custody, however they had broken the law by trespassing. If you do any research on it, which you obviously didn't, you will find that to be true.
@TriaMaxwell As for guns.. That's fine that guns scare you as they do many, but by you saying that, I assume you've never used one as a tool like for hunting or protection. Since you haven't, it is in my opinion that you shouldn't be judging gun rights. I'm not going to sit here saying that guns are as safe as a padded room, but look, they're as safe as the person who is carrying one, and in a crowd like in AZ. If there was a gunman, he would've been tackled by others before the first shot.
@Cheatman1342 you cant be serious to actually believe that guns should be within a 2 mile radius of our president unless being held by secret service? im sure you dont meant that.. having a gun to protect yourself is different than taking a gun near our president.. "they're as safe as the person who is carrying one," do you know how many unstable ppl live in our country?? the death threats to Obama is up 400% than any pres. why do you think one of these ppl wont take a gun to a rally?
@mashack12 I can imagine how many unstable people live in this country, however how many stable people that own guns live in this country. Yes, the death threats are up for Obama as if no one saw that coming. Anyway the second part of the that article which you neglected to mention was that Bush received 3000 a year. I'm not saying that they can't take a gun to a rally however there is no possibility of even getting a glimpse of the pres from where they were.
@Cheatman1342 the fact of the matter is it only takes 1 unstable person to kill the president.. if pres. bush got 3000 death threats a year then that means pres. Obama gets 12000 A YEAR.. the fact of the matter is that people were escorted from bush rallies for wearing the wrong shirt or bringing the wrong poster.. why cant you escort some1 who is carrying a gun? if you are 2 miles from the president you can take him out with a rifle.. why do you need to carry a gun to a presidential rally?
@mashack12 You could never take a out a president from 2 miles away. The longest sniper shot recorded to date is 1.53 miles and that was with a spotter and time to figure wind and compensation. You can't just aim crosshairs and the bullet goes where you put them. It doesn't work like that. People were escorted to an area designated for them. This is routine. The same thing happens at Obama rallies. Protestors were not allowed in the area and they broke the rules at the Bush rally.
@Cheatman1342 dp you think that this person woud act alone? and lets say it was a mile away that is well out of the presidential protective zone.. they could do harm.. it doesnt matter where they are designated why the fuck do you have a gun at a presidential rally? does it mke sense to you? if everyone is carrying a gun it eliminates the possibility of secret service keepin an eye on every1.. death threats are up 400% and presidential security is up 5%.. it definetley not equal
Of the presidential assasination attempts in US history that involved someone in the crowd, almost al fo them (McKinnely, Ford, and Reagan and to a lesser extent Bush) involved the assassin posing as a supporter.
So it makes no sense whats so ever to target protesters if safety of the president was the goal. An unstable person is not going to wear an anti-president t-shirt.
@booley Out of all riots that occur, there are two integral parts, two groups that oppose each others views. That's why there are an area for protesters and supporters. And yes it does make sense to target protesters. These protesters broke the rules at the rally and thus cannot stay in the support area. I don't care what an unstable person is wearing. They have just as much right to enter as everyone else so long that they don't have a gun. They have security at the door you know.
@booley Its actually quite simple. If I walked into a store and got on the intercom system yelling obscenities, I could by law be charged with trespassing by the store regardless if it is a public area or not. The trespassers were in an area where they were not welcome. The issue with this event, once again if anyone researched it before criticizing me was that there was a specific area for protesters just like at Obama rallies and the people in question with the shirts were not in this zone.
@Cheatman1342 Ok except this is nto a case of people yelling obscenties. No was keeping Bush from speaking. And a grocery store is a private business while a political event on public ground is public.
Worse, even if we accept your analogy, grocery stores are far more tolerant if you say you don't like their prices then if you bring a gun into the store.
As anyone who researched this would know, the free speech zones were about hiding dissent, not safety
@booley Look. Idk how much more clear I can make this. There are two areas for people, the support area and the protest area. The man with the gun was not inside the rally obviously. Thus he's not "inside the grocery store" My point was, there are rules that apply in a public business and if broken the person can be charged with trespassing. The people were not in a designated area for protesting and resisted going to this place so they were arrested.
@Cheatman1342 "There are two areas for people, the support area and the protest area."
That we get, That has never been argued. In fact that is the problem.
Despite lots of posts on the matter, you have to explain how this is not stifeling dissent from the left.
It's nto being done for security, that's for sure. It's not being done to stop riots. (opposing protesters have been in proximity for centuries. In fact that's the point)
A public space is NOT a public business. It is not a business at all.
It's a public space for the public use.
wearing a t-shirt or otherwise displaying you disagree with a public official is not supposed to be against any rules. If it is then it's the rules thats' the problems. Doing something wrong because one made it a "rule" is not a justification.
& still doesn't explain why cons are afraid of t-shirts
just when i think you can't possibly douchier.....wham! there you go.
note; I don't watch your trash, subscribe or in any way search you out. Youtube does you a favor by hiding your label. do me a favor and block me so i don't accidentally click on your crap.
who funds you btw? don't worry, i already know....you don't have to say it.
Push your rights to an obnoxious extreme and they'll get taken away. Human made "rights" are really just temporary privileges. Some people use the term "God Given"...no, God didn't come down and say anything about U.S. rights, and he won't interfere in anything that goes on surrounding them being taken away. People decided what "rights" you will have (during a different time in history) in the U.S., and people will continue to make those decisions.
Frist of all the AR's where not loaded if you where to see the whole fucking clip of the video, the man has no mag in the rifle and also had a chamber flag showing the rifle was clear. So im guessing what he would to do is our rights away. Fucking jackass
@m4carbineowner Dumbass, technicalities aside, only crackpots or revolutionaries carry guns to rallies. Civilized , reasonable people don't! End debate.
@KangaKucha If Obama dies america will burn. And that's not a threat, that's a realistic and rational prediction. Black america will explode and alot of innocent people will get hurt., your country will burn, it really will. AND THEN the NWO will have fun with ya'll asses.
@KangaKucha this is what i think will happen if the shit hits the fan. Yes we will fight at first but we will all see who is the real enemy and come together and fight side by side
All of those law abiding citizens carrying guns and no one got shot???? Hope you're not disappointed. These guys simply know the truth. Exercise your rights or you will surely lose them. Gun control measures will only change the behavior of the good guys. Make gun control as stiff as you want - the bad guys won't care.
@SemiRagingM8 yeah fuck the second ammendment.. because if the second ammendment was never written down you would have more power, and would be more opressive....
Anyway if you knew anything about guns, ar15s have an effective range of 547 yd. the odds of an accurate shot at that distance without a scope are extremely diminished.
No one is suggesting that they are going to kill tyrants. That is the most liberal naive thing you can say. I have every right to carry a gun and will do so. Anyway he says town hall events are full of anger, if you've ever been to one you would know otherwise. Anyways, you look at the Arizona immigration marches, you would find that that is a violent demonstration. I have every right to be outside the security perimeter of the president with a gun.
@Cheatman1342 If anyone is naive it is a childish person like you. Only fascists, psychos or revolutionaries walk around in public at rallies with guns, This has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment, but it has everything to do with civilized, peaceful behavior, not childish firearms exhibitionism.
@EsClayWilson your generalizing that anyone who has a gun at these events are "fascists, psychos, or revolutionaries". You demonize and name call anyone who has an opposing view of you. This has everything to do with the 2nd amendment. They were outside the security perimeter and complying with Arizona carrying law. Federal law overrides this inside a predetermined zone. This is civilized protest in which people with a common belief come together to stand against it. Is name calling civilized???
@Cheatman1342 This has less to do with the second amendment than it does with tact. I don't mind the second amendment, I think it's great, but carrying a gun to a presidential rally makes you look crazy, and makes a good case for people that want to revoke your second amendment. They are going to fuck around until we end up losing the second amendment, and you won't be able to blame the dems for taking it, when people show that they just want to abuse it.
@RoboticsNShenanigans This isn't abusing the second amendment. Buying a gun and using it to shoot someone is abusing the amendment. Look, I'm not saying that I defend taking a gun to a presidential rally or would do it myself, but this guy has every right to do it and exercise it.
@RoboticsNShenanigans Did he shoot anyone? NO. Are people that want to kill the president just going to walk around with a gun in the open? NO. It's the people that don't have a weapon you have to worry about.
This just proves that the security aparatus of The Man cannot be trusted to protect The One. Our People's Messiah must be protected at all costs, and since the Republican agents are traitors to the revolution we must bring in the Civilian Defence Corps (swearing personal loyalty to The One) to replace all of the reactionaries in the police, secret service, military, etc.

Agree with young turks. it's these racist jackass psycho redneck republicans like freelance patriot who live on deluded conspiracy theories . Washington needs to start arresting these tea parties and Nazi Republican parties who are threatening government officials .
When you decide to take out a democratically elected person through violence, he is not the tyrant, YOU are.
YOU think your opinions count more than those of others and try to assert yourself over them by threatening with violence the person they elected as a whole.
YOU are the reason why we were given the right to bear arms, to protect the majority from a minority who try to take over with force.
@scorpiondouche... if giving up your civil liberties makes you and yours "normal" than im proud of the fact that you think that I am crazy. keep buying your ipods and blackberries, and I will continue to stockpile weapons. good luck when the shtf.
typical liberal nonsense. Let me make this as clear as possible... I have multiple long range and short range firearms, and if you attempt to breach my constitutional rights, I will use them. YES I am speaking about a VIOLENT OVERTHROW OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT. Plain enough for ya? Good. now go snivvle in a corner and let us sheepdogs keep the evil wolf from your door...
The people that insist on the right to carry a gun are obviously (not all) paranoid nut cases! NOBODY should be allowed to carry a gun with in a mile of the President giving a speech! I don't give a fuck what the second amendment states...Further more the second amendment is an out dated freedom.
Typical libtards retreating to ignorant name calling with zero facts and figures. When one resorts to ignorant name calling, it shows that one can't hold his own in a logical debate.
Do you have any facts/figures backed up by history or statistics, etc ? I can care less about opinions. Opinions are for kool aid drinkers. Kool aid drinkers who are brain washed with hopey changy.
Perhaps you can explain how the founders got our independence. No it wasn't guns. Gosh, brain wahsed libtards with delusions of hopey changy.
Explain how commie russia and china used gun control before they killed millions of their own. Waiting for facts
Do you have any historical facts that disarmed people were able to defend freedom? You are a pussy liberal who wets his panties at the sight of a pistol grip. YOU commies are the reason why the founders gave us the right to bear arms.
so basically we need to be controlled because were viscous slaves. That tells me your intentions and philosophy ya dumb fuckin slave yes men. TURK IS JUST LIKE ANY PAID NEWS, FAKE SLAVES
Okay Railfans gets harassed for taking photos of a train because of a "security risk", but 12 people are allowed to attend a presidential event with guns (one of which was a automatic weapon) Seriously?
They clear airspace overhead, but you can have guns near the president? YOU MUST BE FREAKIN KIDDING ME!!!
(Clearing airspace nearly pointless because by the time they could do anything, the most likely plane would have hit the ground, before they could do anything.)
Assault rifle - noun - a short combat rifle used in close quarters with a SELECTIVE firing mechanism. If you are going to complain about assault rifles you should at least know what an assault rifle is. Look it up yourself, by no definition is an AR-15 an assault rifle.
if a riot were to unfold with a hundred armed people there would be multiple deaths and even more injuries now wouldnt that attract some attention to this matter... this is an outrage!!!
People get arrested for wearing t shirts at Bush rallies, but the same people who think they should be arrested think that guns are ok for them to carry at an Obama rally.
One of them men with a gun just left a meeting with a pastor who preaches that Obama should die.
Make no mistake about this, this is to some degree about race. Could u image if after hurricane katrina blacks showed up to every Bush or McCain rally in the south with guns. People from baggy pants to regular dress brought guns and signs threating the president. America wouldnt allow it they would be taken jail and beaten.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
so what if they bring 100 guns? carrying a gun does not mean that you're going to MURDER someone. It would be legal for me to carry 50 knives in my pockets. does that mean i'm going to go stab 50 people? no. when you see a police officer with a gun, do you think "oh shit, i bet he's gonna murder someone." no. why does the crowd need to be controlled? are they hostile? no. having a gun for protection is not criminal, aggressive, no does it mean yoiu're gonna fucking kill the president.
The interesting thing is the double-standard w/ Bush and Obama, you don't find that curious?
So you think that people who come with guns to these town-meetings do so for self-protection, really?
And it's such a big deal because Obama has received more death threats than any other president and he has only been in office for a few months
And why the hell would you have 50 knives in your pocket- your intention may not be to kill anyone but you must have a logical reason for it, is suspicious.
Quote: your intention may not be to kill anyone but you must have a logical reason for it, is suspicious.
Must I? because our president is black, now i have to have logical reasons for everything i do? last i heard, being suspicious isn't illegal. the double standard is bullshit, i agree. that doesn't mean people doing LEGAL activities should be treated as if they're doing criminal acts. we shouldn't be arrested for exhibiting amendment rights, whether it's first (t shirts) or second. Period.
Its just hilarious that the Right Wingers say "Obama is after our freedom and guns!!", even though you can carry a gun at his event, but you couldn't even wear a T-SHIRT Bush didn't like, and these people worship Bush like he's the only begotten son of Reagan.
It is also 'legal' for a secret serviceman to snipe your ass from 250 yards if they perceive you to be a threat to the president, with that carried weapon, in Arizona.
So, while it may be legal, it's also idiotic.
I like how they sent in a black guy to do it though... that way they took away the 'racist' card. I bet they even had to loan him the gun... I've never seen a bookish, church-going black guy with an AR-15, but I'm making too many assumptions now.
Hey dumbass they guy with the Semi Automatic Rifle what your calling is an assualt weapon is a Black man, Stop stareing at the rifle and look at the Person
I could care less about the human being carrying the rifle in the video. The fact that people are wishing Pres. Obama to die is my problem. And it SHOULD be yours as well. My comment was aimed at the trogs who hate our president for no other reason than that he is black. They are not decent human beings.
And if that had happened near our belated failure (Bush) there would have been arrests and prison time for threatening that waste of skin. Double standard indeed.
How come when liberal's are protesting and smoking pot or what ever while theyre protesting its ok. When a conservative wants to protect the constitution and keep it the way it was ment for i,e, small government, we're racist. I personally am not a racist nor is anyone i associate with. We are gun loving citizens with the right to have guns, be it a military style or sporting style
theyre our guns, further more the 2nd amendment was to keep the government mindful that (hey there are a lot of armed citizens out there so lets not get too carried away cuz they just might revolt) the 2nd wasnt for hunting or sporting it is for the right to fight for freedom from a tyranical government which seems to be the way Obama and his kronies are going.
Again, this is about the fact that IF they had done this in front of a Bush event, they would have faced arrest and an armed response. This is about how our government responds to the actions of its people. Those folks down south braying on television how Gawd is going to help them by killing the Pres. would have gotten them in trouble, at the very least.
Our Pres did not ask for any removal of armed citizens. The video above did, though. Note that I did not.
"this is about the fact that IF they had done this in front of a Bush event, they would have faced arrest and an armed response" Please provide me a link with your proof about this. I can't find anything on it.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You can't find anything becasue nobody cared. Bush was pro 2nd amendment. And like I said, when the Black Panthers protestest Bush armed to the nine's, nobody took their guns because they broke no laws. Again I ask for proof about the t-shirts, and again I got no answer. Figured as much.
There is no double standard either, it is the right of an american citizen and im sure if the secret service felt it necassasry they would have been all over those guys so i dont know what your crying about
I will sell you a clue for a penny. But if you read my responses below, you wont need it.
An important note, however, if one of those armed citizens DID do something stupid, you would see a quick cry for near fascist level gun control afterwards. So the protesters were walking a very fine line. I am for gun rights. I am against idiots. Idiots who would cost me my rights by their words or actions. The people who want to keep our nation in a downward spiral.
Let me ask you one thing, who is to determine who is an idiot and who is responsible? If the president or some other politician came to your town to try to gain support for a bill promoting more strict gun control would you not show up to protest the bill? think about how other groups protest Peta brings cute cuddly animals to show people. Anti war demonstrators have huge piece signs. Why cant the firearms community have the same rights?
Because they could use the guns to kill the President. Puppies won't kill Obama. With all this hate mongering going around, Obama is is real danger. If Bush deserved strict protection, Obama does too.
yes they could use the guns to kill the president, or they could use their arms legs cars chairs shoes and yes even a puppy when swung hard enough. Give an idiot an object and they can kill. The fact is these people clearly are NOT out to kill the president they call the police and tell them they are showing up to protest, they have cops right next to them the biggest thing is they have their weapons exposed now if a shifty eyed guy with a bulge in his coat shows up thats a different story.
They DO have the same rights. A sign is a message. A gun is intimidation. Firearms are unneeded to bring across an idea. When people see a person carrying a firearm, their first thought is not, "Hmm, I wonder what they are saying?" it is "Uh oh, I wonder what they are going to do?"
And that is NOT the way to get an idea across. It fuels the anti-gun peoples' fervor to remove them from our hands. YES, I would protest the bill. YES, I would do my best to be an activist. But not that way.
Ok now that these guys have been shown to have extreme religious ties and have been proven to be a little off i agree with you. This is not the way to protest gun rights, cut out a picture of a gun and strap it to your back, hold i sign with a gun on it. but PLEASE dont make all of us look like Super Crazy Christians.
So we have a constitutional lawyer here who claims that the second amendment does not apply to present. What other constitutional amendments do you think do not apply any longer?
you make a point about the double standard but you cant take away peoples rights if they want to come to an event with a gun you can take away there rights....

1.71 people are murdered an hour.
12.5-285.3 people defend themselves an hour.
The arbitration system we have has much more to do with the murder rate than firearms. If you only criminalize coercive acts and legalize all voluntary acts the crime rate would go down as much as is humanly possible.

Conservatives babble about how into free speech they are but are okay with arresting people for a t-shirt. Of course, for all their libertarian talk, half of them are latent or blatant fascists. After all, when cons go for government jobs, they go to the police and military where they can vent their brutality & fascist ways legally.
EsClayWilson 1 year ago
@EsClayWilson Sir, I take extreme offense to your statements. I will not stand to hear you bash any job that without it, my freedom would cease to exist. I'm a firefighter/paramedic that protects and helps lives here at home. I work very close with police and military personnel and have yet to come upon a "con". We protect and serve every day. We cannot legally vent our brutality among citizens, there are very strict guidelines for even pulling someone over.
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@EsClayWilson and no one is arrested for wearing a tshirt at bush rallies. They may have been arrested for trespassing or resisting arrest, but it is impossible to be arrested for something that isn't a law. Conservatives are alright with the carrying of a firearm at these events is because it is being done within the law. No laws are being broken so it is against the 2nd amendment to take away the right to do so. Read law before you make outlandish statements that show your lack of knowledge.
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 Tresspassing? "Even though you have the right to disagree, if you aren;t in lockstep with the Retardlican party, you need to leave".
TriaMaxwell 1 year ago
@TriaMaxwell Ok, so you you can make synonyms to the word Republican, congrats, it just shows your ignorance. I can't understand your first statement however I would vote Republican and have libertarian tendencies. No one was locked up for the sole fact of wearing a certain T-shirt. I'm not arguing that they were not taken into custody, however they had broken the law by trespassing. If you do any research on it, which you obviously didn't, you will find that to be true.
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@TriaMaxwell As for guns.. That's fine that guns scare you as they do many, but by you saying that, I assume you've never used one as a tool like for hunting or protection. Since you haven't, it is in my opinion that you shouldn't be judging gun rights. I'm not going to sit here saying that guns are as safe as a padded room, but look, they're as safe as the person who is carrying one, and in a crowd like in AZ. If there was a gunman, he would've been tackled by others before the first shot.
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 you cant be serious to actually believe that guns should be within a 2 mile radius of our president unless being held by secret service? im sure you dont meant that.. having a gun to protect yourself is different than taking a gun near our president.. "they're as safe as the person who is carrying one," do you know how many unstable ppl live in our country?? the death threats to Obama is up 400% than any pres. why do you think one of these ppl wont take a gun to a rally?
mashack12 1 year ago
@mashack12 I can imagine how many unstable people live in this country, however how many stable people that own guns live in this country. Yes, the death threats are up for Obama as if no one saw that coming. Anyway the second part of the that article which you neglected to mention was that Bush received 3000 a year. I'm not saying that they can't take a gun to a rally however there is no possibility of even getting a glimpse of the pres from where they were.
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 the fact of the matter is it only takes 1 unstable person to kill the president.. if pres. bush got 3000 death threats a year then that means pres. Obama gets 12000 A YEAR.. the fact of the matter is that people were escorted from bush rallies for wearing the wrong shirt or bringing the wrong poster.. why cant you escort some1 who is carrying a gun? if you are 2 miles from the president you can take him out with a rifle.. why do you need to carry a gun to a presidential rally?
mashack12 1 year ago
@mashack12 You could never take a out a president from 2 miles away. The longest sniper shot recorded to date is 1.53 miles and that was with a spotter and time to figure wind and compensation. You can't just aim crosshairs and the bullet goes where you put them. It doesn't work like that. People were escorted to an area designated for them. This is routine. The same thing happens at Obama rallies. Protestors were not allowed in the area and they broke the rules at the Bush rally.
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 dp you think that this person woud act alone? and lets say it was a mile away that is well out of the presidential protective zone.. they could do harm.. it doesnt matter where they are designated why the fuck do you have a gun at a presidential rally? does it mke sense to you? if everyone is carrying a gun it eliminates the possibility of secret service keepin an eye on every1.. death threats are up 400% and presidential security is up 5%.. it definetley not equal
mashack12 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 Another thing...
An unstable person is not going to wear an anti-president t-shirt.
booley 1 year ago
@booley Out of all riots that occur, there are two integral parts, two groups that oppose each others views. That's why there are an area for protesters and supporters. And yes it does make sense to target protesters. These protesters broke the rules at the rally and thus cannot stay in the support area. I don't care what an unstable person is wearing. They have just as much right to enter as everyone else so long that they don't have a gun. They have security at the door you know.
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 & damn I ran out of space to mention another problem..
"Out of all riots that occur, there are two integral parts, two groups that oppose each others views. "
So lets say what you claim is true. What idiot would think bringing a gun was ok then?
IF a riot did break out we now have at least some of them shooting other people. And I would not have to leave my "area" to shoot you in your "area"
So this argument fails on both sides.
booley 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 How does one trespass on an event open to the public on a public space?
How can one be arrested for resisting arrest if one isn't being arrested first?
booley 1 year ago
@booley Its actually quite simple. If I walked into a store and got on the intercom system yelling obscenities, I could by law be charged with trespassing by the store regardless if it is a public area or not. The trespassers were in an area where they were not welcome. The issue with this event, once again if anyone researched it before criticizing me was that there was a specific area for protesters just like at Obama rallies and the people in question with the shirts were not in this zone.
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 Ok except this is nto a case of people yelling obscenties. No was keeping Bush from speaking. And a grocery store is a private business while a political event on public ground is public.
Worse, even if we accept your analogy, grocery stores are far more tolerant if you say you don't like their prices then if you bring a gun into the store.
As anyone who researched this would know, the free speech zones were about hiding dissent, not safety
booley 1 year ago
@booley Look. Idk how much more clear I can make this. There are two areas for people, the support area and the protest area. The man with the gun was not inside the rally obviously. Thus he's not "inside the grocery store" My point was, there are rules that apply in a public business and if broken the person can be charged with trespassing. The people were not in a designated area for protesting and resisted going to this place so they were arrested.
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 "There are two areas for people, the support area and the protest area."
That we get, That has never been argued. In fact that is the problem.
Despite lots of posts on the matter, you have to explain how this is not stifeling dissent from the left.
It's nto being done for security, that's for sure. It's not being done to stop riots. (opposing protesters have been in proximity for centuries. In fact that's the point)
booley 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 "and again your analogy fails.

Push your rights to an obnoxious extreme and they'll get taken away. Human made "rights" are really just temporary privileges. Some people use the term "God Given"...no, God didn't come down and say anything about U.S. rights, and he won't interfere in anything that goes on surrounding them being taken away. People decided what "rights" you will have (during a different time in history) in the U.S., and people will continue to make those decisions.

Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 If anyone is naive it is a childish person like you. Only fascists, psychos or revolutionaries walk around in public at rallies with guns, This has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment, but it has everything to do with civilized, peaceful behavior, not childish firearms exhibitionism.
EsClayWilson 1 year ago
@EsClayWilson your generalizing that anyone who has a gun at these events are "fascists, psychos, or revolutionaries". You demonize and name call anyone who has an opposing view of you. This has everything to do with the 2nd amendment. They were outside the security perimeter and complying with Arizona carrying law. Federal law overrides this inside a predetermined zone. This is civilized protest in which people with a common belief come together to stand against it. Is name calling civilized???
Cheatman1342 1 year ago
@Cheatman1342 This has less to do with the second amendment than it does with tact. I don't mind the second amendment, I think it's great, but carrying a gun to a presidential rally makes you look crazy, and makes a good case for people that want to revoke your second amendment. They are going to fuck around until we end up losing the second amendment, and you won't be able to blame the dems for taking it, when people show that they just want to abuse it.
RoboticsNShenanigans 1 year ago 10
@RoboticsNShenanigans This isn't abusing the second amendment. Buying a gun and using it to shoot someone is abusing the amendment. Look, I'm not saying that I defend taking a gun to a presidential rally or would do it myself, but this guy has every right to do it and exercise it.

so what if they bring 100 guns? carrying a gun does not mean that you're going to MURDER someone.

Must I? because our president is black, now i have to have logical reasons for everything i do? last i heard, being suspicious isn't illegal. the double standard is bullshit, i agree. that doesn't mean people doing LEGAL activities should be treated as if they're doing criminal acts. we shouldn't be arrested for exhibiting amendment rights, whether it's first (t shirts) or second.

Neither party has managed to create small govt. I did not call YOU racist. This is not about your gun rights.
Try again.

theyre our guns, further more the 2nd amendment was to keep the government mindful that (hey there are a lot of armed citizens out there so lets not get too carried away cuz they just might revolt) the 2nd wasnt for hunting or sporting it is for the right to fight for freedom from a tyranical government which seems to be the way Obama and his kronies are going.

ClassicFIHD 2 years ago
You cannot find anything on it because people would have been afraid to do so. You seem to miss the understanding of the word "IF".
Harassment occurred when people showed up at Bushie shows with t-shirts and bumper stickers that the right wingers did not like the message of.
My comment stands.

There is no double standard either, it is the right of an american citizen and im sure if the secret service felt it necassasry they would have been all over those guys so i dont know what your crying about
cjmorgan00 2 years ago

Why cant the firearms community have the same rights?
scaryalbino1987 2 years ago
Because they could use the guns to kill the President. Puppies won't kill Obama. With all this hate mongering going around, Obama is is real danger. If Bush deserved strict protection, Obama does too.
melissainnovascotia 2 years ago 4
yes they could use the guns to kill the president, or they could use their arms legs cars chairs shoes and yes even a puppy when swung hard enough. Give an idiot an object and they can kill. The fact is these people clearly are NOT out to kill the president they call the police and tell them they are showing up to protest, they have cops right next to them the biggest thing is they have their weapons exposed now if a shifty eyed guy with a bulge in his coat shows up thats a different story.
scaryalbino1987 2 years ago
Well, if you used it in a chicken gun a puppy COULD do the job at close enough range. \=p (ick, sorry for that image)
But your observation is spot on, Melissa.

RabidPetRocks 2 years ago 5
Ok now that these guys have been shown to have extreme religious ties and have been proven to be a little off i agree with you. This is not the way to protest gun rights, cut out a picture of a gun and strap it to your back, hold i sign with a gun on it. but PLEASE dont make all of us look like Super Crazy Christians.

The second amendment is referring to a time when most villages had their own militias. It does not apply to the present.
Dragonfly6160 2 years ago
So we have a constitutional lawyer here who claims that the second amendment does not apply to present. What other constitutional amendments do you think do not apply any longer?
