  • Wish he would just sing it how he used to....check the acoustic mtv version..Thats when Thom was at his best. He almost seems like he cant be arsed to sing it properly. Shame.

  • @noahwayne I agree... it's the best when he sings it like the studio version. =[

  • @WuHa105 the studio version was live right?

  • @tinsaint except for the vocals

  • @Thedahdumdum thanksP)

  • Why do people dog on Pablo Honey? That was one of their better albums imo and I'm a huge Radiohead fan, not just a fan of their early stuff. Brilliant performance btw.

  • I have this beautiful sound coming out of my speakers

  • I rarely come across bands that sound good live these days, but wow this is quite good

  • I like all their albums including Pablo Honey.

  • hail to the thief

    the bends

    amnesiac

    in rainbows

    ok comp

    kid a

    pahlo what

  • Kid A is a classic album. its just that its more spacey and ambient. people seem so set in their ways when it comes to music. radiohead made three incredible guitar rock albums in a row and they wanted to try something new and they did it rather well. some people just cant get into unconventional songwriting. whatever, its their loss.

  • Although I'm still hoping beyond hope that one of these days, they would realize(esp. Thom) they miss their guitar-driven records and do something like that. They can still be experimental as hell and rock wicked imo!

  • How I miss this Radiohead era, The Bends and Ok Computer were the best albums imo. With In Rainbows and Hail to The Thief tied in second place. Kid A was good too but not something anyone could get into. All things considered, at their core, Radiohead is a brilliant rock band that chose to walk the path less traveled and that is why they are one of the very few bands left out there that has the capacity to command such reverence from their fans and critics alike.

  • to say you miss the Radiohead era or that two albums are the best is foolish theyre all great in different ways, to compare OK Computer to Kid A is pointless their both amazing masterpieces. Every Radiohead album is a masterpiece in its own way they keep it fresh and keep us guessing what genius thing theyll do next there not like most bands who have one core boring sound that just gets boring thats what makes Radiohead one of the best bands out there ever.

  • I have an opinion as you do. Who are you to say I'm foolish for liking a particular Radiohead album over another? Grow up. I happen to like guitar-driven rock over electronica so deal with it. And it's inevitable that every other Radiohead album will be and has been compared to OK Computer, why should it stop now just because some newly minted fan decided to jump the Radiohead bandwagon? I love Radiohead but unlike most of their fans now, I tend to be more discriminating with their material.

  • Well I dont see why you got so angry, I was just stating a fact. Whether you like it or not OK Computer is a brilliant album buyt so is Kid A etc. there all brilliant and just cause you choose to be discriminating won't change that. Ok computer is my favorite album ever, but I can't deny that Kid A is just as brilliant in a different way, Im not arguing Im just stating fact.

  • Well, I fail to see how you could not expect it when the first reply you gave me smacked downright condescending. I simply stated my own opinion to start with and I wasn't even being disrespectful to Kid A. We all have our top albums and I basically named mine. So what's the problem that it's not Kid A? You have a problem with other people expressing their favorite Radiohead albums? You do realize you have to be respectful of others' opinions too and not just your so called "facts"?

  • No you completely misunderstand me man, OK Computer is my favorite Radiohead album, but I think that all there albums are equally brilliant (not including pablo honey), and I was just using Kid A as an example, Im just saying that Radiohead is such a genius band just for someone to focus on one aspect of them. Sorry if I came across condescending.

  • everything you said was nice but you can't speak for everyone and said say kid a is nice but you can't really get into it because i have :] lol.

  • @SilverestFuel

kid a is either my favorite album right now or second favorite.

  • Thom's singing is shitty here!

  • Fuck me, Radiohead are amazing!!

  • Some people is like: "I dont really like this, but i like their newest stuff"

Some people is like: "This kicks ass! But i'm not really into their new stuff"

But you know.. I'm just like: "Fuck it, it's all great! GO, FUCKING GO RADIOHEAD!"

  • I love it all, from Pablo Honey to In Rainbows. There isn't an album I don't love at least 5 of the songs on, and I only say that because some of those on Amnesiac don't do much for me. I love basically all of the songs on all the others.

  • I agree!

  • fucking agreed hihihi :)

  • @sevillafc43 old stuff up to the 3rd album = pure rock, new stuff = art + rock x)

  • @sevillafc43 TBH i prefer their older stuff, their new stuff puts me to sleep

  • @sevillafc43

    YeAH!!!

  • great

  • eds playing the plank

  • My brain...says...I'm recieving pain...

  • WTF??? 2:47?? Colin say to Ed

  • What guitar is Ed using? It looks like a Strat, but it's got a different headstock

  • Nevermind, just realised it's his Plank guitar

  • At 2:47 ? I think COlin said to Ed "Stop picking things on the floor, there're dirty !"

  • What?

  • lol!

  • This is probably my least fav Radiohead song... minus pablo of course. In my opinion it is a pablo song. But it was played here at perhaps my fav radiohead concert. I love watching the videos from Eurockeennes!

  • yeah me too its my least fav but before i loved it but now a days it dont really:P

  • Really? This is one of my all time favorites.

  • Yeah there are so many better songs on the bends... youll think im crazy but bones is a better choice in my opinion..

  • Well, to each his own. I love the whole album start to finish. This song always stood out to me. Maybe it's because back when I played drums, this was the most fun for me to play.

  • i thin k its the best song of radiohead

    it just have it all

  • youv actually got onto something there because this song was about how their audiences after the release of Pablo Honey just wanted to hear Creep and didnt give a stuff about the rest of their music... My Iron Lung, Creep was there iron lung during performances... its reflective of a song on Pablo so its no surprise that it wouldnt sound too much out of place on the album

  • Amazing album. Fuck the haters.

  • I think it's a massive tune... I love when they play it live... they slowly build up to the chorus, then Johnny looks like he's going to break his guitar in two because he's strumming so hard... frantically attacking the strings and squeezing each note out.

  • I saw this live for the first time

  • max msp for teh wins

  • great end jonny

    max msp

  • i prefer the way thom used to sing the old songs a little better i think. the way he sings now is perfect for hte songs they've been bringing out, but some songs were a little better live back in the day. ex: my iron lung, street spirit, fake plastic trees, and maybe karma police. but either way, i'm a huge radiohead fan and love them. so i'm happy with anything they do anyways.

  • fantastic song.

  • I think his new voice suits this song, but he looks like he can't be bothered really going for it. Shame.

  • Does anyone else get the feeling thoms getting more fragile and tired looking, more than just age?

  • yes... and he has a wife!! that's another thing..

  • I was listening to an interview with Thom and he was saying that his kids will play CD's of Radiohead, and he'll an older song and he'll ask his kids what they are listening to and they'll tell him. He forgets songs because he doesn't play them all that often, so maybe he forgets how to sing them too. :P Though I like this version.

  • i cant help but say i miss Radiohead between 1993 and 1997..... haha xD esp on my iron lung cuz thom sings it differently T.T but i do LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE In Rainbows and other newer albums OMG!

  • how does jonny do that laser sound at the end?

  • with his sex box.

  • Haha, oh man. I have no idea how he gets half his tones. I like that, his sex box.

  • By running it through a software patch called Max/MSP (thanks Wikipedia.) He does the exact same in Go to Sleep.

  • he does look bored with The Bends era stuff

ever see him perform Just these days?

  • NICE the final part of jonny like a freak cat xD

  • x D

  • Is it me or does Thom look and sound extremely bored during this song?

  • I wouldn't call it bored.. the Thom who first wrote this song is not the same one whos singing it in this video. This is his newer, slightly different, take on the song.

  • I prefer this thom, he sing it better

  • Radiohead kicks ass to the tenth power.

If you disagree, I will fight you.

  • just like will ferell :D

  • I'm Spartacus!

... I mean uh, yeah me too! Do your worst Radiohead haters.

  • The sound in the beginning is Ed, so Ed's awesome!

  • by the way if you can buy all the tools jonny use and practice you can do it as well, but it will not be as impressive, because you will be imitating not creating like jonny does, but still every one can do it

  • how does johnny get that tone with his guitar near the beginning? that is not rhetorical, please tell me

  • the first guitar that sound is ed´s one, and that sound is made by adding tension to the cords, and usually jonny and ed ad sound effects by using special and diverse pedals that make the guitar sound in a different way, also jonny likes to use sintetizers, khaos pad, etc etc

  • are you asking about the ebow?

  • nope. that's not johnny. i think it's an octaver.

  • @dekanbackward whammy! :)

  • absoluty perfect

  • brilliant, no wait... doubly brilliant!

  • oh jonny. so awesome.

  • Fucking awesome!

  • He's using a stutter patch in Max/MSP, like he does in Go to Sleep.

  • he uses max/msp¿, in the final solo, true xD

  • erm if anyone is watching this who knows alot about guitar, could they have a stab at explaining what on gods geen earth jonny does or uses during those solos, it's insane lol

  • This song is def. one of their greatest...from the bends-era at least!

  • thank you!!!

  • i fuckin love them
